Maybe it's not a true 5 star winery but I feel it deserves something to raise it up from all the unnecessary low reviews! It's an old building and old winery that was once a top notch spot on the map. If nothing else it deserves respect for still being around! A lovely lady greeted us when we arrived, she's been there 40 years and pulls no punches! She knows her stuff and is very matter of fact! Some folks don't like that but we don't mind, we found her super interesting and knowledgeable. She's got stories and was very interested in ours as well. I highly recommend a stop if you're on this beautiful highway, if nothing else then the history of it!

The ladies running the place are adorable, friendly and have fun stories. Those two stars are for them. The wine was very expensive vinegar. I'm not a wine snob or a noob, but every bottle we bought was vinegar. That said, $50 vinegar made my heart sad. And it was so hot in there, the red wine was cooked. The white wine was warm. Everything was about 3x the price it should have been, even if it been good product, which it was not. Ladies, you did great. The winery and building owner failed you. If you are the building owner, invest in indoor climate control for the sage of your product.

Hoodsport Winery is located in Hoodsport Wa. It has the best selection of fruit and berry wines. Prices are appropriate for these craft type of wines! Delicious

Very rarely do I feel like a business deserves a zero or a negative star. Based on experience today, I cannot recommend this place. First, the "tasting room" had just one wine to taste. Second, no price labels on wines. When asked about the price, quoted prices were much higher than online. No explanation provided about the discrepancy. Third, all prices mentioned were over $50 per bottle. Since no tasting was offered for any wine but one, it was difficult to assess whether to purchase the quoted price particularly since we purchased a better tasting (to us) wine at the Fletcher Bay Winery on Bainbridge Island for around $20. Finally, the "sommelier" could have provided explanations for issues raised above but did not. I do not recommend this place but YMMV.

Lots of wine made locally. Very sweet wines and great selection of Ciders to choose from. Lady was knowledgeable and has worked there for 40 years. Tastings closed during Covid. Downfall is that the bottles are not price labeled and so you'll have to ask how much it is. Spendy wine! We bought the Cabernet which was very very good but it was a 50 dollar bottle of wine! And then bought a pinot grigio for $35. Good small place to visit but I'm sure you can find better priced wines elsewhere.

Surprised to see how others reviewed Hoodsport Winery. I've always driven by because when I'm in Hoodsport I'm in a different mindset, but my last visit was in a more "tourism" mindset so I visited a number of places I've always just driven by. It can be difficult for a business to thrive in a small rural town that relies on tourism to thrive and requires the staffing of locals to survive. It was a wet Autumn day, so not surprised that Hoodsport was pretty quiet -- 180 degrees opposite of the usual summer madness. It was perfect for me because crowds aren't my jam. The lady running the shop was friendly and welcoming and very helpful. We were the only people in the shop. It's a small space. Many items aren't priced - yeah that's annoying and also not my jam. And yeah, they only had a couple wines for tasting. Yeah, the prices IMHO were on the high side. Still, we really had a great conversation with the lady running the shop. We stayed a really long time looking, thinking, and talking -- especially for such a small place. We were being thoughtful about our purchases. We didn't go in planning to buy anything, just to look around. We left with much lighter wallets after trying some new wines and selecting some new wines to try. If you have a narrow or solidified idea of what wine tasting is or should be, how many wines should be available to taste, and if no prices on the shelves will make you sad, maybe this place may not be your jam. But if you're into spontaneity, going with the flow, trying new things, having new experiences, etc. this may be a neat stop for you. It sure was for me.

This was are plave to stop when driving to/from Olympia and Port Townsend, WA for a break and some great fruit wine (blueberry, loganberry, muscat, etc.). Unfortunately they have lost there wine maker and most of their wine is now made in TACOMA then trucked to Hoodsport. If you have any of the original left Enjoy it! Because there is no more

A small wine tasting venue. On 9/3/23 3:23 pm it was having problems doing two tasting groups. I saw that the tasting 'cups' were plastic pill dispensing container. I personally would do a wine tasting with plastic 'cups'.I bought one bottle of their Pinot Noir ( Willamette Valley) 2017 with tax $42.30I have never tasted a Pinot Noir I didn't like until this one. It was musty, flavorless with no body. I inquired about a Sangiovese bottle priced at $48, and declined.Overpriced & under-delivers winery.
