Zippy's Wahiawa

Wife and I were on our way to the north shore from Waikiki and wanted a bite to eat. We found Zippy's in our search. We do try to make a point while on vacation to go to places that are not available locally, and Zippy's is one of those places. The wait staff was very friendly and helpful. They were able to answer all the questions we had with the menu. The restaurant was clean, open and well lit. I need to use the restroom afterwards, I did however need to get a code for the locked bathroom door, so I'm assuming they have an issue with people trying to take advantage of the restroom. But the waitstaff gladly helped me out. The restroom was clean and taken care of, with the exception of the soap dispenser, it appears to have a dip issue, which.... They did try to remedy with some towels on the floor. So there was definitely attention to it. My mealI had the Korean fried chicken and eggs. Before I ordered I ask if it was "spicy" and it is anything but. Quite the contrary it was deliciously sweet. The chicken was tender and crunchy. I decided to upgrade to the fried rice (totally worth it). My eggs were cooked perfectly as well.Quite happy with my stop at Zippy's

If you in Hawaii and want to mingle and eat like a local then this is the place. No is no fancy, no is not expensive and yes is delicious. Here u will learn about how food taste in Hawaii from the people from Hawai Once again we dined at Zippy's for " forgot the times" because is so good and had an absolutely delightful experience! The atmosphere was warm and welcoming, and the staff were incredibly friendly and attentive.We started our meal with the spaghetti and chili sauce, which was a perfect blend of flavors. The spaghetti was cooked to perfection, and the chili sauce added a unique and delicious twist. Next, we enjoyed the club sandwich, which was stacked high with fresh ingredients and tasted amazing. It was the perfect combination of savory and satisfying.To top off our meal, we indulged in the bread pudding for dessert. It was simply divine - rich, moist, and bursting with flavor. It was the perfect sweet ending to a fantastic meal.Don't forget to order Loco moco is a dish featured in contemporary Hawaii cuisine. The traditional loco moco consists of white rice, topped with a hamburger patty and brown gravy, and finally a sunny-side up fried egg. These ingredients must exist in the dish to be named loco moco. No other egg variations are considered traditional and the stacking of the dish must be in the aforementioned order to be considered traditional.[1] Variations to egg style, meats, and stacking alters the naming of the dish. Had a pleasant evening due to our server when we came in last Wednesday night. Too bad I didn't get her name. Zippy's isn't my go-to restaurant but I love how it's open til midnight. We were really hungry and after our meals, we were satisfied!! We have a friend who doesn't like going to this location because of their rice. And I told him, rice is rice. I WAS WRONG!! The rice is here a little hard, not the soft and sticky rice that normally comes with your lunch place. I think that should be one thing they can improve on.Anyways, I ordered Korean Fried Chicken and the lilikoi drink which was to delicious! I didn't finish both my meal and my drink. I was able to take the rest of my korean fried chicken to go, but I wish I was able to take my lilikoi drink to go as well.We also ordered chili fried, this steak plate which was very sad looking especially for its price. I guess we're at fault there. Nonetheless, it was still a good dinner. We laughed a lot and ate delicious food, we're happy!

We wanted to have something that the locals will eat so Zippy's here we come.  The last time I ate at Zippy was over 15 years ago... they still had multipage paper menus.Service - 4 /5Front of House - we were greeted and seated quicklyWait Staff - friendly and quick in getting our orders taken and out; but did not come back offering drink refills. Food: 3/5Korean fried chicken and chili mixed plate $15.40. Dish only had 5 pieces of fried chicken bites.  They were crispy and lightly tosses in sweet glaze.   Cannot go wrong with chili and rice. I just wished there were more chicken and less chili. See photo for the ratio.Restroom: 3/5Separate single Male & Female Restroom. You will need a combination to get into the restrooms.  The men's room is clean but the toilet has a leak in the fill pipe and tis leaking on to the floor (see photo)... it looks like staff is aware of this and it has been going on for a bit of time. There was roll of Teflon tape near the leak.

It's a hit or miss with Zippys. Just like some days you get food poisoning from them and some days you don't. The Wahiawa location is infamous for slow service. I work in Wahiawa and I live in Ewa. Are usually mobile order my breakfast in the morning. Shortly after I pass Waikele I placed my mobile order. By the time I arrive at Zippys, my order is still not done. I usually order two musubi's and grilled cornbread. What is so hard and that was 20+ minutes ago? The service in the morning is super slow. The ladies behind the counter does not acknowledge you. Nor do they tell you if they're working on a problem or to thank us for waiting. Service every single day.

Good food to fill yourself up on with lots of local favorites. The Zippy's menu has a lot of good options to choose from so I wish we could've gone again but we'll go again next time. Service once you walk in isn't all that great cause there are only 3 servers working the dining room and they aren't that attentive to the customers who walk in the front. There's no front desk person or anybody to greet you which is fine but it would be nice if we knew what to expect when arriving to eat. The ambiance inside was pretty casual and it seemed like this location was operating on a more limited capacity probably because they just decided to not re-open fully. We did however use the waiting time to review the menu and once we got seated, we placed our order to avoid waiting around any longer. We ordered the surf pac deluxe, the chicken trio and a spam musubi. The surf pac deluxe was delicious...the beef, the fried chicken, the spam and the chili were all stars of the plate. The chicken trio gave us the best of three worlds when it comes to fried chicken and the spam musubi is just a classic side.

Great food, but prices going up. Mahalo and we are glad you are open to serve the community

I know this is a local fav and honestly I've been hesitant about it but let me tell you from beginning to end this trip to the Wahiawa location was amazing. When me and my bestie went to order both cashiers were really just so nice, we told them it was our first time so they even helped with what to order and did not rush us at all. I have a family of 5 so trying to figure out what everybody will like is sometimes hard when it's a new menu and I'm wanting to be quick. I ordered the fried salmon Furikake salad, the chili with 2 orders of cornbread which they asked if they wanted it freshly grilled( and off course my answer was yes), I ordered a mini katsu chicken, Korean fried chicken and I couldn't resist the desserts in the display case- I had to get a croissant donut I forgot the name but it was amazing! Probably my favorite thing there followed by my salad. It was a really good experience all the way around. Friendly service, good sized food portions and flavor. I understand why it's a local favorite.

Fast Hawaiian food, friendly service. Got the burger and tofu burger, fries, Mac salad and side of fried chicken and rice for the little one. Like they offer side portions of some entrees like fried chicken since they don't really have a Keiki menu.

Would be 0 stars if couldChicken fail No quality control I dont know how they can sell this as chicken .I guess gotta open it up at the counter and check
