We LOVE Kaimuki Zippy's!!!! It's one of the original locations and super easy to get into and out especially for take out since parking is right in front. This location however DOES NOT have table service BUT its ambiance is chill and there are clean tables for you to enjoy your favorite local foods. You know you are gonna have onolicious quality food like their Korean Chicken; Zippack- fish, fried chicken, teribeef; spam and furukake and and mix plate of fried chicken and chili (with three options-beanless, with bean or vegetarian). Gotta thank Noah, our counter help for taking our order. He was REALLY patient while we trying to decide and even made a few suggestions like the daily special of sweet and sour spareribs!!!Oh and for the get together parties... or office snacking try one of their platters like fried noodle, omelet sandwich platter, Spam musubi, Korean Chicken, or local favorite platter for the indecisive.Lol! Last but not least when you're tired of cooking lunch/dinner pick up a zip meal of their spaghetti noodles and sauce or the Ohana pack of anything chicken (fried; Korean or chicken katsu), fried noodles, or chili...endless possibilities INDEED! Thanks Zippy's for making our lives enjoyable! Lucky we live Hawaii and Las Vegas, too

There is plenty good food choices to choose from which makes it hard to decide what to order and eat. The service is always fast if you phone or online order. In person it takes a little longer as that is understandable as that it has to be cooked. It's a covered outside place to eat at. Most people order and take it home to eat. A very good place to get food and desserts from this place. There is enough parking for this small location as people are always coming and going.

"Big Brother, little brother"The Zippys Kahala has not one but two restaurants as well as counter service. West of this Zippys location lies the little brother Zippy.s Strictly take out counter with some general seating areas. But if you are just going to pick up and go, and want to avoid the areas near Kahala Mall, this location is a nice alternative. Have found the workers to be great and less errors than Kahala for take out. I don't think it's intentional, but we have found more errors at Kahala than Kaimuki- but we enjoy a sit-down service meal so when that choice is made, Kahala Zippys is a nice choice. Kaimuki Zippys has the same coverage as Kahala except some choices at regular side, no Japanese options either like Kahala.

I went to visit my mom a couple of weeks ago and was gonna bring her some lunch. I decided to stop at Kaimuki Zippys and was very surprised. I've been to this Zippys many times over the course of the years that I was living in Palolo. It's always been so run down and I never wanted to eat there because all the pigeons were just waiting around trying to get some food.We'll fast forward to today, they really cleaned that place up. The dining area looks really clean and new, they have automated menus and systems that say when your take out order is ready, and the management seems better too. I was very happy for the changes they have made. It looks great and makes me want to come back again.

Lunch in Kaimuki, Honolulu, Hawaii...My friend, Marlina from New Jersey, remembered going to Zippy's when she attended the University of Hawaii with me back in the day. I knew she wanted to go to any Zippy's location, and this one (on the corner of Waialae Avenue and 7th Avenue) was convenient.The only downsides were that: 1. it has outside dining only (not pleasant for people from the mainland because of our humidity, even in January) and 2. a sketchy individual was hanging around, took a nap at one of the tables, and went in the restroom. He knew the code! After seeing that, we went to Kahala Mall for their restroom. Marlina enjoyed her Saimin, and I got my standard chili (with beans), brown rice, cheese, and onions.We sat under one of the fans for maximum cool temperature. We were grateful for the free parking, efficient, friendly service, and happy food memories...

Haha I failed so bad. I was supposed to meet up with my nephew here at Zippy's. I decided to walk here cause it's only a couple miles away from where I'm staying at. I get to the spot and he's nowhere to be found. He calls me up and asks where I'm at. I say I'm here already. He asks me if there's a church across the street and I say yup! Womp Womp! I went to the wrong Zippy's!Next time nephew!So I'm already here. Might as well grub on something.I asked the person in front what they would recommend and they suggested the Korean Fried Chicken and Chili Mix Plate. It was really delicious. The fried chicken and the chili had tons of flavor. I would definitely get it again.Service: Friendly. They made a good suggestion.Parking: Tons of parking spots.Will I be back? To Zippy's? Yes. Back to this location? Probably not. As I was walking back to my hotel, I realized that there were closer Zippy's to me. So thanks to this location for the Zippy's introduction! But I'll probably go to the closer spot.

We normally go to Kapahulu Zippys but on this particular saturday evening after 9pm it was packed with tourist, 6 of them in front of us and they were not familiar with the menu, one cashier in training...and one hungry customer that could not wait for 6 tourist to order. Not sure why but Zippys is seeing a influx of tourist. So we left and headed up to 6th ave Zippys with NO one in line and empty...wonderful service and food was fast. I'm normally okay with having zippys but this time I had to do a review for this saturday night dinner. Upon arriving at Kaimuki location parking lot was empty (sweet), no one in line, Cashier was on it...we ordered the special korean tofu and zip pack (for those familiar with zippys the portions have been decreasing in recent years, well not tonight), the zip pac had a bumbucha chicken and nice size portions, the korean tofu was really really good, did side order of mac salad which seemed larger than on the plate lunch. We also did napples which we waited 7 mins for (yes they made to order), that didn't make it home, had to eat it warm and fresh from the oven. Next stop zippys? Yes yes yes and kaimuki from now on. There was a point where kaimuki was always out of items especially the bakery but after seeing so many tourist at kapahulu, we are going back to Kaimuki and pray and hope they not sold out when we get there for our late dinners.

Zippy's in kinda like the Denny's of Hawaii. Simple, consistent menu and food. And Zippy's Kaimuki is no exception. We were meeting the ohana so needed a table fo 10 with 2 kids, so Zippy's was a good choice.I had the chili frank plate lunch which rice, mac salad, chili and a hot dog. Typical Zippy's quaity which is good.Two differentiators are service and parking. Service was very good. Since we were visiting with family we stayed like 3 hours and they didn't kick us out. Their parking is on the ground foor and the restaurant is on the second floor which is very nice on a hot sunny Honolulu day.
