JUST OK DIM SUM BUT IT'S CONVENIENT. I TRIED THE SPARE RIBS, shrimp har gau, pork hash, shoyu chicken wings and the bbq pork bau. The shrimp har gau and the chicken wings were pretty good. The spare ribs were under-seasoned as well as the pork hash. The bbq pork bau was pretty bad ... I could taste a little ammonia. This place would not survive in any Chinatown but it's conveniently located in Ala Moana Shopping Center near Macys in the small food court so if I go back I'll get the shrimp har gau and the chicken wings and try something else. They charge 3% for credit card and 5 cents for a bag.

Well, now that YYK closed their sit-down restaurant on Kapiolani Blvd., this is the only place you can get their yummy dim sum. It's pricey and the quality is not as good as the restaurant (since a lot of it is made ahead of time and sitting out), but it's great if you're looking for grab-n-go dim sum in small quantities. If you're looking for high quality dim sum at Ala Moana Shopping Center, I would suggest Jade Dynasty upstairs.

Not worth the calories. The egg custard was expensive for two 5.50. It would not be bad if it was good the crust was dense and the custard was firm like it was old.

Breakfast with mom in Honolulu, Hawaii...I wanted a convenient place for my mom to dine - where she wouldn't have to walk too far. The Lanai at Ala Moana Center is a relatively new food court (started in 2018) that has many choices, free covered parking on the Mall Level, has clean restrooms, and shared dining area withair conditioning. We chose YYK Dimsum because they were open; the containers of food were ready to go; and there was no line.Mom got a 2-pack of steamed cha siu bao (BBQ pork buns), and I got wonton soup and a 2-pack of Shrimp & Chive dumplings. Mom said that the bread of the cha siu bao was kind of mushy - I guess the steam collected in the container while it was in the warmer. The bottom of the Shrimp & Chive dumplings were a bit mushy, too, for the same reason. However, the flavor was great! The wonton soup was alright! I liked the shrimp in each Dumpling - and I think there were 5 dumplings instead of 4 as advertised!I was glad that mom was able to recognize this area as where Shirokiya was (next to Macy's) - back in the day. Yes... Ala Moana Center (the largest outdoor mall in the world) has really changed and grown!

I love having the convenience of a grab and go dim sum place. This place is conveniently located at the Lanai food court at Ala Moana shopping center. They offer a lot of the usual dim sum favorites. Dumplings, buns, etc. Packed and ready to go. I like the pork and shrimp dumplings. Juicy and flavorful. Four to a pack. The baked and steamed buns are also pretty good. Light and filling. Lunchtime can get pretty busy but the lines move along pretty fast. Prices are a little higher than you would expect. Worth a try when you have that dim sum craving.

Have to say, for takeout dim sum, the quality isn't bad. Actually, was very happy with the siu mai. For only 6.76 one gets four plump, larger than average pork hash which are generously filled with nice shrimp and mushrooms. That's just $1.69 each piece. Not surprisingly, the wrap was slightly falling apart (see takeout container). This is what happens when dimsum is left sitting around. Also tried the potstickers. Nice taste and portion at a slightly higher price of $7.60 for four pieces. And while the chiu chow fun gow was plump and tasty. It did not support the $3 for each piece. For food court convenience I would purchase again tho quality will be better in restaurant close by. Food a solid 4 stars. Too high prices knocks the rating down one star to three. Located in the Lanai Foodcourt at the Ala Moana Center. It is what it is. Convenient fast food.

Food court dim sum? Why not? True, they're not served in steaming bamboo baskets. True, the selection isn't the greatest. But hey, I'm not complaining as we have Z-E-R-O dim sum places on Maui. ATMOSPHERE:Located in my favorite mall food court, The Lanai at Ala Moana Center, seating is at a premium as it's shared amongst other eateries. MENU:A handful of selections packed in takeaway containers. FOOD:Chicken Feet - $6.25, 4 pcs.I've always loved chicken feet since childhood. Finished in a traditional black bean sauce, they were tender and flavorful. If you're wondering what it tastes like, soft chicken skin would be my best description. It's also labor intensive as you're constantly discarding bones & cartilage. And no, there are no toe nails to deal with, LOL. Hey, don't knock it until you've tried it!Siu Mai (shrimp) - $6.76, 4 pcs.The filling was a dense yet moist mixture of savory pork & shrimp, with thin & soft wrappers. SERVICE:It's grab and go from the display case. Cashier was friendly, smiley and professional.TIP:Beverages & booze available from neighboring bar, Agave & Vine. OVERALL:Your sole option for dim sum in the world's largest open-air mall.

After a long day of window shopping at Ala Moana, I love going to the Lanai food court to browse the array of food options. I always end up coming here to get my favorite Shrimp mochi puffs! I love their location on Kapiolani so this is perfect to pick up and go! They don't have a lot of variety when it comes to their already made dim sum but it has a decent selection. The items are kind of pricey but nice because you don't have to commit to sitting in a dim sum restaurant in order to enjoy yummy food!

I craved dim sum and thought it was a perfect idea to try the new place located in the Lanai food court. I went around lunch time which was super crowded but I must say waiting in line moved very quickly. As I waited, new food was packed and placed in the food warmers. When I got to the register the cashier calculated my order and packed my food items nicely in my bag. I verbally asked her for the sauces (hot mustard, spicy garlic, and shoyu- soy sauce). When it came to payment, she charged me twice since she wasn't watching that I tapped my credit card prior to her packing my items. Here's my order:Shrimp and Chive buns- definitely my favorite. It's packed with chunks of shrimp and plenty of chives! Pork Hash- Very meaty and tastes greatHar Gow- chunks of shrimp. Eat it quick or else it dries up and gets hard.Overall, I felt that the food was decent. The price was pretty high. And the service could improve in the small details. I would try again if I just wanted a quick dim sum bite.

I was order # 28 today, March 1 and it was disappointing and yuck to bite into and to pull out two strands of long, thin hair in the taro puff in two places. I had picked up extra to share with friends, but now I'm having second thoughts. I tried calling the number shown to let them know, but it was disconnected. Seems like they're careless about their food preparation site.
