I brought a mini pan of meat jun to a friends' get together of heavy pupus, everyone commented on saying it's the best meat jun they've ever had and where did it come from. The meat is perfectly marinated all the way through and the egg batter did not fall off the pieces. Each piece sliced well, all the way thru. I called to order at 2pm for a 5pm pick up, had to call 3 times because the phone had a busy tone. Lady answered, said "hello, very busy hold on ", she put the phone down and helped the customers. I could hear every conversation with the customers there, she was busy. 5 minutes later, she apologized for the wait and took my order. I got there at 4:50 and there was a line of 2 customers in front of me, one more couple waiting for their order on the side. I told I was there to pick up my pan, she told me they're cutting up my meat jun almost ready. After 5-10 minutes paid for my pan and went on my was. My mini pan was $83, and it came with a good size container of their spicy meat jun sauce, we had 12 of us, and we each got to take home after the party. It was a good amount. Even my local korean friends commented on how good it was, again asked where it came from. Young's Kalbee is currently take out only. This has been our neighborhood gem for Korean food. Everyone that I saw that went to pick up their plates, the lady was really friendly with them. It was like she knew everyone, and everyone knew her. Located below Anytime Fitness, there is parking in the lot, sometimes it's a little walk. They take credit cards. Highly worth the money and worth the wait.

Our first experience at Young's was OK. There's only take out. There was only the one lady taking orders at the site and answering the phone. She was friendly and made sure to check the containers before giving us the order. We enjoyed the Young's Kalbee special plate. It has 1pc. big bone kalbee, bbq chicken, bbq beef, meat Jun, 1pc. fried mandoo, rice and ban chan. The ban chan was bean sprouts, seaweed, cabbage, kitchen and one other spicy/sweet radish. It comes in 2 containers. The meats were tasty but the ban chan didn't have much taste. They don't have the variety of ban chan we like. We also ordered a meat Jun plate, a tofu soup and side order steamed mandoo. It was a lot of food for 6 of us.The total came out to about $140.00. It was worth a try. But, we'll keep looking for a restaurant that we like both the entrees and ban chan.

This review is strictly for their lunch special; especially the Meat Jun!After trying Meat Jun in Los Angeles and finding out it's a staple in Hawaii, my mission is to always get at least one plate of it! I went to Young's Kal Bee and got more than I expected! The lunch special included Meat Jun, BBQ Chicken, Mandu, Rice and Veggies.Their Meat Jun is said to be very popular and I believe it. It's sweet, tender, and mouthwatering! The BBQ Chicken was the same way (not sweet tho lol). I was definitely a fan of their lunch special and didn't want to share but I couldn't be too selfish for my fiance and friend to not try the Meat Jun. The lunch special is pretty fulfilling, I ended up eating it for dinner! It's take out only so call ahead or order at the door.Mahalo Young's Kal Bee! Be back soon!

So I don't know if I just came on the wrong day or what but my food was terrible. I'm looking at all the great reviews and I have no idea what went wrong. First off it cost me $52 for two plates. One meat Jun and one kalbi. It was super busy so the price didn't bother me, although I was surprised, I figured to be this busy this place must be worth it. The Ban Chan (sides) are sprouts, seaweed, cabbage and Kim chee. Those were nothing special although the Kim chee was very good. My MEAT JUN was SO CHEWY and TOUGH it was almost impossible to eat. The meat was almost grainy and I wish I had gotten some pictures because it didn't look like what everyone else is posting!!! The kalbi was also tough and at $27 for the plate with the very plainest of sides ( cabbage and seaweed?) definitely not worth it. The $52 didn't even include a drink and I would just not return. It's no dine in only takeout and it's quite busy so I would phone in my order and then pick up if possible. Good luck and I hope u have the experience everyone but me had!!

My niece suggested we get Kalbi here for a party a few months ago. It was great! My friend went down, prepaid, day of the party I went to pick up and ordered veggies. It was quick and reasonable. Everyone commented on how good the Kalbi was.

My favorite Korean place for meatjun, mandoo & sauce! This place is nostalgic and always great quality. They only do takeout and are closed Monday and Tuesdays. Call and order ahead of time, usually takes like 15 mins or so. Meatjun: Always with a thick, soft slice of beef and perf amount of eggMandoo: they make it with a thicker dough style which I grew up on and LOVE! Order takeout and support this local business!!

IMO... JUST OKAY. 3 1/2 star. I was told this was THE place for Korean bbq in the area so here we go! We went on a Saturday for a dinner pick up. Short line but 30 minute wait. The regulars do phone orders so if you plan to come here, call in your order. Our plates looked and smelled delicious. We just couldn't wait to eat! I had the fish Jun. When I started, I thought it was juicy and the red dipping sauce was tasty. After a while, the greasiness got to me. My friend liked the meat jun but didn't care for the chicken Katsu. There was more breading than chicken. And no Katsu sauce??? As for the sides, you don't get to choose. I really like the potatoes at most Korean bbq which is not an option here. $20 a plate. Standard. But I dunno. To me, it was just okay. Will I return? Not sure.

I used to be very proud of my fave takeout korean spot I loved growing up as a kid especially for bragging rights when your other half is feom Aiea. But over the years young's kalbee has taken the lead as far as tastiedt meat jun. The meat is thick and marinated. All of their food is a bit on the sweet side which I dont mind. Parking can be tight in the lot right in front, but often times she will give you a box to carry. Def enjoy all their food. The shrimp tempura is also very good!

A lot of friends have been recommending this place for a long time. Ordered the Barbeque Chicken & Meat Jun combo plate and shared this with my husband. The BBQ Chicken and Meat Jun was tasty and I loved the sauce for the Meat Jun!This place is pricey compared to the Korean restaurants I've been to and here, you don't have a choice on the banchan. It comes with pickled cabbage, seaweed, bean sprouts and kimchee. It also comes with a LOT of rice.I can now tell friends I tried this place but I think I'd rather go to restaurants where you can choose from the many different choices of banchans and substitute the rice with an extra banchan.
