Yobo Mart

Started coming here for their burger and fries.... Had no idea the rest of their food was delicious too!!! This mart is a local business owner servicing the Makiki area.LOCATION: Corner of Pensacola St and Davenport St. The entry is on Pensacola St. The mart is on the first floor.PARKING: Unfortunately there is no parking. Their garage is for residents only. However, there is street parking around the area.FOOD: So this convenience store sells liquor, beverages, cigarettes and a few convenience items. I usually come here for the snacks and food. Their Teri burger is made fresh and they use crinkle fries for their fries. I haven't tried the rest of their menu items but I've heard their Korea BBQ chicken is good too.SERVICE: Their menu items are made to order. They have a few premade bentos on the counter such as musubi, fried gyoza and bentos. The workers here are super nice. Always a pleasure stopping by here. I lived in the area for over 3 years and never knew this place existed. A construction worker working in the area suggested this place to me. Now I'm a regular!

Yobo Mart is located right on the corner of Pensacola and Davenport Street in the midst of Makiki it's been on my mind for quite some time as seeing the pics posted by bestie Alvin though without Yelp directions I would have no clue where to find them.It is on the ground floor of Village Maluhia condos which is rare for this part of town and with a giant garbage truck blocking Davenport Street for quite some time I almost gave up as there's zero parking in the area I drove into the building's parking lot accessible on Davenport Street only to realize it's for tenants only...oops!The menu here is quite simple and the standard love of all things Korean food I really wanted the Korean BBQ Chicken and Kalbi though don't see it as an option and asked if that's possible...and yes it was woohoo!! This mart is quite busy with a steady flow of peeps coming in for various reasons, snacks, household items, or just a drink what a treasure to have this gem conveniently available for the neighboring area.I could smell the cooking in the back and mmmmm it's making me so hungry the generous portion makes it impossible to see the three compartment plate...two pieces of kalbi but into three and three pieces of chicken along with kimchee and Mac salad (are obviously store bought) but the proteins are just the most tender and flavorful bite I've had in quite some time.Chicken and kalbi both is tender not too salty but had the perfect flavor where you don't need a knife, there are some grocery items though mostly are snacks and drinks the food here is legit and place to rave about...if you can find parking.Thank you!

Im giving 5 stars because of the friendly service and the tasty yet unique spam musubi. Sam - is super helpful and friendly- if they run out of the musubi and you wanted more than 2 they will gladly make them for you. I also tried the bbq chicken which was also delicious but not as addicting as the musubi. Parking is on the street so call ahead if u don't want to wait for them to make your food. They do have lunch specials but i haven't been able to try all of them yet.

Received a post card in the mail several months ago and this caught the attention of me and my husband. He picked up dinner one night, and learned that new owner's took over Yobo Mart. Located on the corner of Pensacola & Davenport Streets in the Village Maluhia Apartment of Makiki. My husband ordered Gimbap and a Bul Go Gi Plate which was so delicious! I loved it!A couple Friday's ago, I wanted to try something else. Called in my order and asked the guy what's on the menu today. He said they were serving Kalbi plate, and I think it was also Garlic Chicken. It was ready for pickup in about 20 minutes. This Kalbi was even more satisfying! Mandoo was good too!You can also find small grocery items, liquor, snacks, and other household items. Street parking only.

I'm really enjoying the friendly atmosphere here, but my own neighborhood has some amazing food spots and restaurants, and I love being walking distance to the store!

Prices: pretty reasonable, under new management. They now accept EBT. Hours: they have set hours now, so no guesswork in what time they open (I forgot) and close at 9:30 pmFormer owner: The last owner retired, she really deserved and needed it. So happy she gets to just live life not worrying about people trying to steal. She was by herself for the most part.Food: bruh! The mom is a great cook! She makes THE BEST cucumber KimChi I ever tasted. Not soggy, not burn your face spicy.... Perfect! I'd say it's "Bomb". My family loves their Musubi, Bim Bap and sushi.Cleanliness: very clean. The smell is awesome. You're not even hungry until you smell the aroma from the food.Customer service: super nice. ALL of them. The son is cool, the dad showed me how to use the "tap" feature for my card lol. The mom is mostly in the back cooking but she's sweet. They even have pictures of the food so you know what's in it.

Lots of neighborhood kids steal from this lady's store. She trying to operate a business and the kids from "small islands" come and steal from her. She has to lock the store up when school let's out cuz they run in her store and steal stuff. Support aunty if you can. Don't let these hoodlums take over her store.

Yobo Mart has literally some of the best foods in the world! A convenience store on the corner of Davenport street. Go check them out for authentic home cooked Korean food! The owners are Korean and are great people!

Great Mom and Pop convenience store and Sam behind the counter is the nicest guy. If I drank alcohol anymore I'd love it even more because I wouldn't have to go anywhere to get it lol.

This place is awesome. Ran in to grab an energy drink and was surprised to see the assortment of things they offered. There's all kinds of snacks and an assortment of soft drinks. They even have alcohol, cigarettes and elf bars. The food here is really good as well. I've had the spicy pork, bulgogi, bibimbap and gimbap. Reasonable pricing and super cool staff. Whenever I'm in the area I make sure to stop in and grab a quick bite.
