This place deserves more than 3.9 stars! Went here with friends and the food was delicious and the restaurant ambiance provided a great environment for drinks and to catch up with friends.Tried many skewers but some stand out ones were the beef tare, okonomiyaki, shiitake, and the chicken with green onions. We also ordered the spicy menma and cold spicy udon and both were surprisingly quite spicy in a delicious way! My friend ordered the congee and that was also delicious! For drinks highly recommend the calpico sours! Not too sweet, refreshing, and tasty.

Came here before covid multiple times and had no issues that I can remember. However, decided to give glad another try since it's been years & my bf & I just wanted to pick on a few things. We called the restaurant around 7:15pm to ask if there was a wait & the man on the phone said no. Once we got there it took a few minutes for us to get seated. The restaurant was moderately full & kinda clean (we did see a cockroach crawling on people's food/table after they left). After we got seated, we waited around 15-20 min to get the attention of one of the workers to finally order. She tells us sorry & that she thought the other worker already took our order. Yikes #1. Our drinks did come quickly after ordering though. So after ordering, we waited around 30 minutes to get 1 food item out of the 11 things that we ordered. People who we knew at the table next to us (who looked like they were almost done when we got there), were still getting skewer plates brought to their table one by one, so we knew ours was probably going to take a while too. Another 15-20 minutes go by & we get 2 skewer orders. Another 10-15 minutes go by & we get 2 more things that we ordered. So now we're at the restaurant for over an hour & only received about half of the things we ordered. Yikes #2. As we're waiting for the rest of our food, another couple comes to sit next to us & they order about 15 minutes later. Right after they ordered, we see one of our orders go to their table immediately. Yikes #3. At this point my bf was pretty annoyed, so we decided to cancel the rest of our order or else we would have probably been waiting another hour for the rest of our food. We mentioned to the server that we didnt get some our food and to cancel our order & she says "oh sorry, I think I gave your order to them" and points to the table next to us. Yikes #4. To top it all off, in the midst of waiting for our food, we see the same server stuffing her face in the front while everyone is waiting for their food. Yikes #5!!! I'm usually very understanding about most situations, as I know it's difficult to run a restaurant, however the workers should definitely have let their customers know that the food service would be VERY slow that night. I'm not sure if it's like this every night, but if it is, I hope they can get more help so their restaurant can last. I will say, the server did apologize and was nice, as well as the cook in the back who answered the phone earlier, but I hope they can work out their kinks. Probably won't be returning here unfortunately due to our experience last weekend, but best of luck to these guys.

First time back in a while and I was NOT impressed. We always get the tsukune with cheese and it was noticed that the prices rose and the quality was bad. The chicken yakitori tasted less like chicken and more like filler. Other items were also not as quality as remembered. Pork was a minimal size for cost. Also ordered a chu hi which lacked it actual drink flavor and more like ice water. I understand it is expensive to keep a business running and understand if prices increase but not if quality and product decreases. Will not be back for a long time. Will try other places in the area.

Came here randomly and glad wifey and I did!Two girls greeted us happily, now that's a good start for sure. We were seated immediately and our server Isabella who btw is so nice (she definitely need a salary raise) was so patient on me as I have lots of questions on their menu. She's pretty knowledgeable so far.Anyhow, here's the food we ordered:Pari-Pari Kawa SuageTori PonzuHeart-ShioKimo-TareRenkon KushiHiyashi-YakkoVegetable SaladTebasaki-ShioButa-Bara KaramisoLychee Chu-HIAlmost all of the food we ordered are tasty and Ono. The service was awesome and the ambiance is pretty neat as it was not that crowded while we dine. We came out so stuffed and trying to push ourselves to come home safely. One Japanese restaurant in Kapahulu at a time...

One of the few restaurants that are open late!We came here around 9pm and were able to get happy hour deals on the beer pitcher ($14).It was pretty empty when we came in so we were able to get sat right away. The service is quick and friendly, and the servers were all very attentive.I can't say this is a super good quality yakitori place, but I loved the chill ambience and the variety of options they offered, so I'm giving a pretty high rating. It'd be a good place for us to come to once in a while when we feel like eating and drinking on a late night, but don't want to spend too much.

Used to love this place. First time back in a couple years. Before on a Friday night, it was near impossible to walk in without at least a 45 minute wait if even that. Now u can walk in no problem whenever. I guess ownership changed. Price doubled, but they still advertising $3.90 for everything. There are signs up outside and inside. Misleading! Portions are way smaller, quality way worse. I'm sad because this used to be our go to.

We just came from Safeway to grab roast beef & my yogurt and on the way home we stumbled upon this Japanese eatery which is really cool and pretty authentic inside. As for their happy hour and next thing you know we were seated. Lol.We were greeted and the wonderful ladies were so nice, chill and friendly. She took our order with ease and she was also familiar on the menu, great! All our queries so far were answered and was satisfied 'bout it.We ordered a total of 10 items and everything was so Ono.Tori Ponzu (grilled chicken thigh with onion, green onion & ponzu sauce) - this is my least favorite as the chicken meat is so dry.Heart Shio (grilled chicken heart topped with salt) - perfectly cooked but kind'a smell something odd, still enjoyed it.Kimo Tare (grilled chicken liver, dipped in tare sauce) - my favorite! Perfectly cooked and the sauce made everything nice.Buta-Bara Karamiso (grilled pork belly in Karamiso sauce) - grilled perfectly and seasoned just right, enjoyed this one too.Tebasaki Shio (grilled chicken wing seasoned with salt) - cooked right and the simple salt seasoning elevate the flavor.Renkon Kushi (sliced renkon dipped in batter & panko then fried) - a first to me and the flavor is pretty interesting. Reminds me of fried taro.Vegetable Salad (salad topped with onions, baby tomatoes, asparagus in sesame dressing) - tasty and flavorful. The perfect side with all the grilled food that I ordered.Hiyashi Yakoo (tofu, onions, green onions, bonito flakes topped with ponzu sauce) - I've tried this from the past and I preferred the cold version of this. T'was still good though.Pati-Pari KawaSuage (crispy chicken skin, topped with onions, green onions served with side ponzu) - was so good but not that crispy enough for me. I still enjoyed this one though.Overall it was great. The experience was awesome. Love the indoor seating and the ambiance was not too tight and the airflow was pretty good (maybe because it was not crowded at the time). Shoutout to our wonderful server Isabella M., she was extra superb. We were taken care of throughout our dining. Thank you so much!Mahalo for reading & happy juandering fellow Yeeps! Hi
