X-Ring is located in the Waipahu Industrial/residential area. You need to drive through a sketchy neighborhood to get to the side street that X-Ring is on. They have a parking lot for customers. In the times I've been there, the parking amount is just ample enough. You figure they have a certain number of shooting lanes, so there's a limit to the amount people shooting at a time, it's also possible to share lanes with friends of course. The store has a selection of handguns and long guns to choose from, as well as ammo. You can rent certain ones to try. The range is nicely air conditioned, clean, organized, spacious with 9 lanes. It's a members only range, so $50 one time fee and then $25/day range fee. You can shoot as far as 25 yards here. You can only use their ammo, however, if you want to use your own, they have a 1 year subscription plan you can pay for that includes range fees.Been coming here the past few months, and the staff are phenomenal. I've heard stories about how there was a really standoffish guy working there, but he's not there anymore. It's easy for me to ask questions because I'm a girl and still a newb about these things, but if you're a guy and willing to put your ego aside to ask for help, they are more than willing to share and help you! They also have gunsmith services, can drop off your firearm for them to clean if you're too lazy. Also, you can sign up for their basic handgun safety course, as well as ccw course.

X-Ring has some very poor customer service. I signed up online for the Handgun Safety and CCW courses 6 days before the course is to start. I then realized that I took the Handgun Safety course in February. I asked to cancel the Handgun Safety course and was told I could not. I asked if I could at least get store credit and was told no. I now have to eat the $300.00 for this course. A damn shame that the owner would not do anything to help me out. I do not recommend X-Ring for any training or any retail purchases for that matter. What an awesome experience ! With the new laws in place for obtaining new firearms, it was time to renew the basic training again! The staff at X-Ring are always friendly, professional, knowledgable, helpful, fun and kind ! The class lead by Jaren Takamatsu was no exception! He is a brilliant instructor! He made the class, a repeat for many of us, fun, interesting , and very informative! His passion was present the entire class! He shared transparent situations regarding his success, which was relatable! The class was well organized, well executed , and fun! The range was no exception ! It is clean , air conditioned, and run safely! The prices are reasonable and competitive! I highly recommend X-Ring for all your firearm needs! Why would you go anywhere else?

I would give 10 stars if I could.I own a local retail shop, and nothing gets me more enthused than seeing another local retailer doing business the right way. First off, their gun range is awesome. They have about 10 lanes, and the entire place is well air conditioned and ventilated. You do not feel like you are choking on gun smoke here and you are cool. Also, the lanes have bullet protection between each lane so you feel safer and you have some level of privacy to do your own thing.Second, and I'll talk more about this later, the staff here is outstanding. I've been there 3 times now and Reggie and Akira are pros in everyway. I would try to hire these guys away from this place if I owned a gun shop lol. I've gotten the "you aren't part of the club vibes" in every gun shop I've ever visited. I didn't sense that at all here. Even after messing up a few times in the range (not waiting for the range door to close before opening the retail door, forgetting to put my glasses back on when going back into the range) I was treated with kindness and respect. Akira quickly, firmly, and nicely told me what I did wrong. I think they knew how much of a noob I am and I appreciate them looking out for me without being rude about it.I got to shoot my brother's 9m and we rented a few rifles for kicks. I got to try the Sugar Weasel AR-15 and thought it was pretty awesome. I hadn't fired my AR-15 in years so wasn't sure how it compared. This visit inspired me to dust off my AR-15 and bring it back the next weekend. I had trouble chambering a round right at the start. Akira had been watching me from the get go. He told me to tap the clip hard. Boom boom. That was the same problem I had at Kokohead, but I got yelled at there and never went back, never firing my gun again. I bought that gun 13 years ago and used it twice. I felt scared of it after my experience at Kokohead and wasn't sure how to gain experience in a safe way. After firing my gun, I could tell it was pretty meh compared to that bougie Sugar Weasel. I've worked in and owned a retail shop for 18 years so I thought I would see what kind of sales people they had when I finished for the day. I said to a sales person named Reggie: "Man. That was fun, but I shoudn't have rented that Sugar Weasel last week because now I know how mediocre my gun is." I pitched the ball and waited for the hit.Reggie jumped. "Oh yea" he said. "Well...I have the exact same trigger that gun has, in stock, and if you put that into your gun it will narrow the gap considerably." He looked up an online price and said he could get me close to that price with a free install. Done deal. Then I started asking him more leading buying questions. What about scopes. At first we started talking about the ACOG, and I thought it sounded awesome because I had heard marines used them. Then Reggie did something that we train our staff at my store to do by asking: "What are you using this for?" I told him home defense. He said, "I'm shooting myself in the foot here by telling you this, but I have something less spendy that is going to suit your needs better than the ACOG." He showed me a Trijicon MRO 1x site. He mentioned for close range and home defense this would be a better bet. A sales guy who actually cared about my needs?! I was already sold on this place, but now I was a customer for life. I hope the owner reads these reviews and understands how awesome it feels to be a customer and have a sales guy actually look out for you like that. Reggie showed his pro salesmanship repeatedely during that time. He steered me away from a special order situation that would have ruined my desire for instant gratificaiton. When I objected to a certain bag they were selling because it didn't have a shoulder strap, he stopped in his tracks, didn't argue, and shifted gears to the next topic of what I might need. As a retail owner I could spot an experienced sales person who knows how to avoid time wasting pit falls. He could tell I was a buyer who wanted something now. He knew how to save both of us time. He clearly appreciated a buyer who wasn't giving him a hard time about everything and valued his advice. When the sale was done, he shook my hand and earnestly told me how grateful he was for the business.Did I get the scope for the absolute lowest price on the internet? No. I didn't. Am I upset about that? No. I'm not. A lot of people want the lowest price, and great service. As a retail owner, I know that isn't how retail works. You can have one but not both. When I went back the next weekend, my gun was ready. I took it to their range, and fired off some shots. It was shooting high as I asked them to set it up for 50 yards thinking I might go to kokohead. Akira was on the scene immediately and helped show me how to zero it in. I then put the target to 25 yards and nailed the bullseye on my first two shots. I was so pleased.THANK YOU GUYS!!!

First time here and I wish they had a second range more close to where I live because I would definitely go there more often if they did. This range is well-lit, clean, and more importantly....air conditioned and comfortable while on the line. Pricing was reasonable....two targets, lane rental, 40rds 223 and 50rds 9mm came up to $100/including tax. Was expecting to pay more, so this was a pleasant surprise. Every range is different with the house rules and they have a pre-made video that you can watch that will let you know what their rules are. They inspect guns prior to going on the range, and they expect guns before you leave the line and pack it up. Safety is of upmost importance here and I appreciate it a lot. Looking for an indoor experience and having the ability to set your targets at distances that you want to practice on....then look no further.

Everyone at X-Ring is incredibly friendly, professional, and knowledgeable. I could tell that all of the staff know what they're talking about and are very experienced.I took the handgun safety course through them. They were incredibly knowledgeable and professional throughout the entirety of the course. They took the course very seriously and did a great job ensuring we all learned everything we needed to know. After the course, I bought a Sig through them and they were fantastic throughout the process. They were great about helping me find the right fit and being upfront and honest with me. Not only that, but I never felt any pressure throughout the process, which made me that much happier to buy from them. I would absolutely recommend X-Ring to anyone looking for an indoor range, a dealer, or firearm education. My experience was excellent and I can't wait to go back!

This was my first time to go to this range because I had to accompany my son since he is a minor and his friends asked him to join them. This range is located in the "pupu" area, which is known to not be in a a good part of waipahu, but the main road to go through is in a business area, so driving there was not too bad.I wouldn't have known about this place because it's tucked in a side street from Farrington highway, but once I saw the painted american flag on the wall, I knew we were there. As I entered, there were many guns on display on my left, and a window to watch people shoot in the range to my right. They have great safety measures regarding shooting at the range, especially for first timers, including watching a video first, holding your ID until you're done and having an experienced person in the range at all times to first show you how to load and shoot the gun and knows when to help right away if he hears you are having trouble with the gun. The range is also enclosed by double doors: you have to close one first before opening the other to get into the range. I was required to register and pay a one time for lifetime membership fee for both myself and my son to be in the range even if I was in there to supervise and wasn't going to shoot. However, they have no safety covid protocols because masks were not required and none of the workers were wearing masks when the store and range is enclosed and circulated by ac.Lots of parking and a small drink vendor if u get thirsty. I would feel safe to come here again when the covid count is much lower to at least learn to load and handle a gun, in the event we may need to .
