One 8 hour fishing day later...we caught 3 big Mahi Mahi. These were so fun to reel in. Captain Will is super knowledgeable and capable. He steered us through some choppy water, and found the best spots for fish! Tom gave great insight into how to reel and get the fish on board. He went above and beyond keeping the boat clean, packing the fish we caught in ice, monitoring the rods, etc. They make a great, friendly team. I've been on a handful of charters, and this was definitely the best. We had a blast. I'm sure we'll be talking about this for years to come!

Booked this on a last minute deal and got on a shared charter . I was hoping for a nice fish to mount. We had a few hits through the day then about half way through a reel started buzzing. We had hooked into a monster blue marlin it took every man on board to bring him in and weighed 471 lbs we all had a blast Id definitely recommend hitting them up if you are in the area

My wife and I went out on whipsaw with Captain Will and Ed. e had great action through the day, 3 hits by blue Marlin (one was a monster fish that ultimately got off the hook) and we reeled in a beauty.Fish here are oceanic, so it's always a gamble but these guys delivered.Whipsaw is an awesome boat with a great cabin and well designed fishing deck. Captain Will and Ed were awesome to fish with, very knowledgeable, encouraging and all around good times to be around. I highly recommend them for a private charter.

Captain Will and James both did a fantastic job. We had a great day on the water. Would definitely do it again.

Just went on a full day trip with my gf and two other random passengers. If you're okay with spending 300-400pp to watch other people catch fish then this if for you. We watched the other two passengers land one fish and lose one while we didn't even get to touch a rod due to their numbering system and lack of determination for fish. Trolling lures for hours with no production just to put out a ballyhoo bait and have it get hit within under an hour and then not put another one out and replace it for another lure is kind of just embarrassing for a business employing a captain on a boat like that. Not to mention all lures shooting out of the water because of how they had the lines clipped into position and the bigger swell not to be fixed until the final hour or so of the trip. But it was pathetic to get short bit on the fresh bait and swap it out for lure again instead of put another bait rig out. I can't hate too much because they extended the trip about 1-2 hours trying to get me and my gf on a fish but it just didn't work out. You either spend big bucks for the private charter and catch a couple of fish or watch strangers catch a bunch on a boat. Even offered a tip afterwards solemnly expecting captain to tell me to keep it due to lack of catches, but no, he was ready to get his hands on his tip from his clearly satisfied customers! We are familiar with the concept that it is "fishing" and not called "catching" for a reason so we set our expectations appropriately. However, my husband ended up catching the exact fish he was hoping for, an Ono. We don't get too many of those in Southern California! We also caught a Mahi-mahi in the first hour of being out on the water.Captain Will and Tom are accommodating, kind and very knowledgeable. You get what you pay for and I have a feeling this won't be the last time we go out on the Whipsaw.(TIP: We had scopolamine patches and didn't feel even slightly sick, even though it got a little rough out there.)

Will and Isaac were amazing. Would 100% recommend Whipsaw. Friendly, professional, great attitude.

These guys are the Best !! We booked this trip for our kids and grandkids..full day trip ..Our son (who is an avid fisherman said "it was the trip of a lifetime !! one I will never forget !!"They owner was amazing..kept in contact with us, due to possible inclimate weather and direction to the slip...Thanks Jim !!The crew Will and Tom ...I wish I could give them 10 stars !! Such great guys !! so personable, knowledgable and fun... they caught 3 blue marlin.. the biggest was about 350#.. brought lots of meat home for BBQ that night...Such an amazing time..it was truly the highlight of their visit !!We'll book again for sure !!
