So...does this review matter knowing Westman Cafe and Lounge will be moving to a new location in Ward?Sure it does! Just the food! Westman Cafe and Lounge was located in Waikiki on Beachwalk. I enjoyed the huge, open air, lodge-like space. The Wagyu Loco Moco was excellent. The egg was nicely cooked with a runny yolk. The wagyu burger was a decent size and cooked perfectly to medium rare. Subbed with (local style) fried rice, which was good. What really made this unique and over the top was the Hayashi Stroganoff. Better than gravy! The stroganoff was beefy, hearty, earthy, and umami. The beef was stewed to tender and I loved the sliced shiitake mushrooms. I could just eat a bowl of this with a raw egg yolk. The Wagyu Oxtail Soup was very good. The broth hits the spot, and stayed true to the local flavors. The oxtail was tasty and tender. The small ball of rice isn't quite enough for this! But be wary of the soy sauce because it was unexpectedly VERY salty....and the minced ginger was added to it... unless the ginger had a salty taste? But yeah...light, gentle dips--unlike me, who loves to dunk and swirl.Overall, enjoyed the food and experience. Service was good. Server was friendly and attentive. Atmosphere was nice. Also received 15% Kama'aina discount! And the server actually asked! That's a rarity! Thanks Westman Cafe! Can't wait for the new location!

I've been to this restaurant twice and so far it was a pretty good experience. Both were on a brunch date with my Dumdumz and the other one was with my friends.Their customer service is exceptional. They did a great job and despite being so busy they were able to check every table making sure they were comfortably eating their food. Totally love their work ethics. We got Alanna & Hope, they were both awesome.FOOD:Big Island Honey Soufflé Pancakes w/ Fresh Berries & Banana - I must say t'was good but not the best that I have. And it took them to give you this order that is why if your group is ordering this they suggest to put it in first.Big Island Honey Soufflé Pancake Matcha Azuki Bean - just okay and nothing really special. All their soufflés must be put in first to their kitchen coz if not you'll be waiting like forever after. LoL.Wagyu Loco Moco - pretty tasty but a little salty IMO. My friends love it so much though. Rice was cooked perfectly and by looking at the plate the gravy is just all of it. Yum!Kalbi Fried Rice - love this so much. Rice was also cooked all the way and seasoned just right. I just wish that they put more kalbi on it though.French Toast - so fluffy & so yum. Love the light crispiness from the outer bread but the inside was just fluffy but rich good. Dusted with Confectioner sugar it looks so snowy yummy.Side of Bacon - coz they really make it so good we ordered another one and this time it was only 3pcs. but on the first order they gave us 5pcs. It feels like we are being scammed. Seems like for a tiny peony half slice of bacon it cost $2 each. Went to Target got their brand product & satisfied ourselves with the whole bacon and tasted just like the one in Westman. LoL.Lady Lychee - this mock tail is so refreshing make sure you get this!Yuzu Lemonade - refreshing too & really perfect for brunch drink. For some this one is a tourists trap. Prices are on a pretty steep side. And if you are a tourist you will love this. Especially the vibe is like a cabin dining fever and I am totally loving the interior design. But the customer service here as aforementioned was simply excellent.

Funny the things you stumble upon when you're in a rush for a quick bathroom break working in Waikiki. Literally wandered in here for the aesthetics of this place before it temporarily closed.Even without eating here, looking the food on the menu looked delicious and learned about the owners and how they also operate other local themed restaurants as well.Shoutout to Jade and Brendan for such insider info.Hoping that place opens again when they're ready :)

The best brunch / breakfast place ever in Waikiki. If you haven't been here , this is a must visit. Food is the best here , gotta try almost everything on the menu. Service is superb too, fast friendly staff very knowledgeable on the menu , always checking up on our table to see if we were doing good or if we needed anything else. Inside this restaurant is very clean with a Hawaii style feel too. If you haven't been here , I highly recommend it.

Pros: great presentation, generous portion sizes, friendly staff, bright dining area, kamaaina discount (!!)Cons: parking is confusing (when you make the reservation, you should see some parking instructions. Make sure you get to the area before your reservation to find parking in the garage)Make sure you ask your server to validate your parking ticket for a discount!Overall, a great brunch spot to just meet some friends and catch up!

My friend made reservations for 11am on a Thursday and it was surprisingly not crowded when we arrived. You need to take an elevator up to the 2nd floor to enter the restaurant.I ordered the honey soufflé pancakes with fresh berries and bananas and a yuzu lemonade. Let me tell you... those pancakes were the best soufflé pancakes I've had so far! It was super airy and light and so so good. My friend ordered the wagyu loco moco and the island butterfly drink. I didn't try his drink, but the loco moco was delicious!!!The staff was so friendly and I appreciate when your waiter/waitress asks about your day/what are your plans for the rest of the day. It just made me really comfortable to be there :)We parked at the Bank of Hawaii parking lot with validation from the restaurant.

Cute brunch spot with amazing views and nice ambiance, with high ceilings. Service was great and everyone was friendly. Food 4/5 - one of the best brunch places in the area - ordered the Wagyu loco moco which was super flavorful and soufflé pancakes was light and fluffy!

The ambiance and decor of the restaurant is AMAZING. The service is good. Our servers were attentive. I ordered a latte with macadamia syrup and my friend ordered an iced matcha latte with vanilla syrup. The coffee was delicious. I am not a matcha fan but my friend enjoyed their matcha latte. We ordered the wagyu loco moco and the kalbi fried rice. I was very disappointed with both dishes. The loco moco lacked flavor and the Brussel sprouts were very undercooked. The kalbi fried rice also lacked flavor, the kimchi was not good, and the fried rice was flavorless. The only redeeming factor was the kalbi. We also ordered the soufflé pancakes with berries and bananas. They were soooooo good. Absolutely no complaints. The homemade cheese cream was delicious!Overall I don't think the price of the dishes matched with the quality or flavor. I did enjoy the coffee, the pancakes, and the decor but I was not happy with the cost.

Super cute brunch place! Great food, a little pricey, but definitely a place to try. The pancakes were so yummy but they do take longer to cook so make sure to order quickly. They're also gluten free!! The loco moco was delicious! The omelet was more like eggs with toppings - there are better things to try on the menu. French toast was super fluffy and flavorful. The matcha latte with honey was also really good! They offer a 15% kama'aina discount so make sure to ask about it!I would recommend making a reservation as well. I think this place may be closing soon, but opening in another location.

Such a cute place! I came here with a friend for a nice brunch and the atmosphere here was amazing. Super cute and simple decor and the service was friendly and fast. They didn't have the avo toast that I wanted, but maybe it was a good thing. I tried the lobster toast instead and it was amazing. They use large pieces of lobster and they garlicky sauce they cook it with was amazing. We also shared the pumpkin pancakes, which was their special pancakes at the time. The pancakes were super fluffy and their pumpkin sauce was great - not too sweet and not too overbearing. It had the perfect amount of spices.
