West Oahu SUP & Surf

Prior to our vacation, I signed up all three children for surf lessons ahead of time. The process was uncomplicated, my confirmation arrived via email within minutes, and all was set.The day arrived for the lesson and the kids were super eager. After meeting their instructors, we took a short walk to the beach. Everything was explained to us. We were all on the same page as far as making sure the kids understood what they're going to do, and my apprehension was put at ease.The two older kids (ages 9 and 8) were totally having the time of their lives. They rode tandem with the instructors and were surfing as if they'd been doing this forever by the end of their session. The little one (6 years old) had a little bit of a mishap. As he paddled out to ride a wave with his instructor, he wiped out - waves all over him, surfboard in the air, exactly what I had been anguishing over. My son and his instructor both recovered. The instructor tried getting him back on the board, but he wasn't having it anymore. The instructor brought him back to us to shore. We tried coaxing him back to surf, but fear already set in. Even my daughter's instructor tried getting him on the board with them, but he refused. Nevertheless, the experience was really cool.The instructors were relaxed and patient. They gave us great photo opportunities. The best part was the two older children were inspired to go out and surf some more.

My family and I went here in 2016 and it was an amazing experience. We decided to return to Oahu SUP for our trip in 2022. We planned and reserved our lessons for a family of 7 a year in advance, and received no phone calls saying any trouble had happened. We even got a confirmation email a few days before our lesson. Today, we called to see what time we should arrive to get set up... no response. We called about 12 more times with no response, so we decided to drive up there anyways. We went to two different addresses that we found, both a new given one and the old one we previously went to.There is no business at either location, and according to other reviews and locals, they have been unlicensed to teach and are not answering any phone calls other patrons have made. Overall, we are very disappointed and have just called our credit card company to dispute this issue.

Horrid customer service, they couldn't care less about their customers or business. I assume it's because they think " Oh Well, they are tourists and likely won't return", wrong. We live here and often have visitors, we thought we found our spot to bring friends but this time we were wrong.1. When I called, they said they were short staffed so they would only be open 11-3, totally get it. It's a small business and would love to support them but thought that was weird to preface a customer with " yeah you can rent but we are barley open today"2. When we got there Roger seemed accommodating, we rented for 2 hours, but he asked us to return closer to 3 because he had to bring guests back to their hotel. We didn't need or want the extra hour but again obliged to help a small business we had young children with us and knew they wouldn't hold interest, plus it was pretty windy for the little dudes.3. When my husband went to bring the items back Roger was 40 minutes late! So we waited an extra hour to turn in the rentals and then an additional 40 minutes waiting on Roger.4. Then i realized my card was charged an extra $54.00. Attempted to communicate with the business via their 2 phone numbers and email... took a week after countless voicemails etc.5. When i finally got a call back they said they undercharged us and fixed their mistake. Fine, understood. However, a notification would have been nice since i signed for the amount upon rental agreement. I just found this whole thing so unprofessional and disorganized. I was pretty upset we had to intention of doing business here again and sending others.

Our family has taken surf lessons with multiple instructors and have found WOSUP to be the best thus far. Maui Mike was our instructor for two days and we all cane away from out time with him feeling much more confident in our abilities. Mikey runs the shop and is very easy to work with. He is also an excellent photographer when needed! If you are on the West side of the island and don't care to venture to Waikiki for the usual crowded lesson, I highly recommend Mike and Mike at West Oahu SUP and Surf.

From Horseback riding among the mountains to swimming with the colorful fishes of the Pacific ocean, these guys have you taken care of! It's an absolute must when you stay in O'ahu! We had a great time on our horseback riding and snorkeling tour with West O'ahu SUP. We had a fantastic time riding along the mountain side with a coastal view. Followed by a trip down to the beach where we got some snorkel gear and lots of time to explore the clear waters where we saw countless fish and coral reef below. I highly recommend taking the day to enjoy the true beauty of Hawaii!

One of the best experiences of my life! We waited until the last day to stand up paddle board because we were so scared! After meeting our instructor, Chante, fear went out the window!She was so patient and encouraging! We were given mini lessons before going into the water. From holding the paddles to how to fall into the water to how to stand on the boards, her instructions were spot on!Yes, we did fall in! (Scary and fun)Yes, she was able to get all of us back on the boards effortlessly! (She's very strong)With Chante cheering us on, we were standing up and sitting down on those boards with less help by the end of the session. I have never felt more safe at the beach! It was amazing! We are planning to return soon and will be contacting West Oahu Sup for more adventures!PS. Please forgive me if I've spelled the instructor's name wrong!PSS. Came here to take advantage of their awesome deals on snorkel gear ($10/day). Much better deal than what you find in more touristy areas further south. Owner was very chill throughout the process and gave us some great tips on the best snorkeling on the west side. He directed us to Electric Beach and we not disappointed!

I absolutely recommend West Oahu SUP & Surf.We scheduled a snorkel and surf package with Roger. We had a fantastic time snorkeling and saw plenty of fish, coral, and turtles! Later during the day we had surf lessons and were taken to an excellent location to practice surfing and were able to catch waves the entire time. Both places were not super crowded so if you're looking for a less crowded experience I highly recommend driving out to the west side and trying them out.

This business is no longer operating. We booked a two hour session and after a confirmation email, the instructor did not show up. The local staff at the beach says this company has been operating illegally and does not have the license to teach. Their website still takes lesson requests and payments. Please save your time and resources.

This is not a good outfit. Please do more research to find surf lessons on the westside in Waianae. They were a no show...
