a woman working in a deli

If you're looking for a really good sandwich at a really good price, check out the Waterfront Deli at the Food Pantry market. They have a sandwich called the Big Apple Reuben that I love. I haven't been to New York, so I have no basis for this judgement beyond trust in my taste buds. It's a simple sandwich, corned beef with cheese and sauerkraut on rye, then hot pressed. It's served with a pickle and a small cup of salad. It takes a few minutes to assemble and heat, so order up and go for a stroll through the market. I find that the magazine rack helps time fly.I forget the exact price, but it's around five bucks. I just went to Jack-in-the-Crack the other day, and spent over six bucks on a Sourdough Jack combo. Does anyone remember when fast food was cheap?Since we're on fast food, does anyone else seem to think that McD's Filet-o-Fish sandwiches have fluctuated in size from time to time, maybe puffing up when new fishwiches appear as competition? I've always wanted to keep record somehow, but that would be weird. Seriously. :)

Great options! Great prices! Hot food, meals, cold food, sushi and great sandwiches. It's also attached to a small grocery store - The Food Pantry - so it's very convenient to add on fruit or other items you may need.

Staying at a nearby hotel and decided to walk over in hope for a cheaper lunch. After spending a week down in Waikiki, eating out and getting those huge portion sizes I was up for trying something different. I was pleasantly surprised when I walked into this little grocery store. The deli offered boars head sandwiches for 6.99. The deli counter also had your standard hot food options such as chicken, corn dogs, and others. They also had a lunch bento table with your standard grab and go Hawaii lunches that looked pretty good. Sushi chef was in house and making sushi to order and also had the standard sushi display. After walking around the store we each found our own lunch choice, two happy kids and parents! We even got a slice of pie for $1.50. Overall, if staying in the area and tired or pricey large lunches I would highly recommend stopping in the food pantry and visiting the deli. Great prices and good food!

Can't beat this price! I got a BLT but with sprouts instead of lettuce. The sandwich was pretty good. Boyfriend got Roast beef sandwich which he enjoyed. One star off because they were out of sourdough bread and my boyfriend's potato salad was a little dry.

Hidden inside food pantry. Great sandwiches. Reasonable pricing for Honolulu. Had the turkey sandwich on sourdough bread. Nice staff. The deli needs more signs to help guide tourists around. Walked by the place 3 times before we realized where the deli was. That is the only reason I would give it 4 out of 5 stars
