Easy and fun course, they aren't as strict on rules either. I've seen people in tee shirts, people walking their dog along the course, and a bunch of boys that just love being out there but hate maintaining the pace of play. Honestly though, every time I golf here I have a blast, I just go in knowing it's going to be chill chill! Easy and short course, if you want to play 18 your just do the nine holes they have twice. No front or back nine. Grateful they keep their water jugs filled and although I walk, I have used their carts before and I love that they have both ball and club cleaners attached! Nice touch. Cheap for military and civilians, I'm pretty sure if you're a civilian you can still get base access and play by yourself. Ask the pro shop for assistance there. There isn't a restaurant or clubhouse with snacks, so bring your own. But there is an awesome chipping green that is easy to get to and practice on! Putting green is available behind the tee blocks on hole one. TIPS & TRICKS: * Pack a raincoat and umbrella, it tends to drizzle up here more often than other courses.

We play here almost every week. Discourse can be challenging because the greens are fast. If you plan to play here, club down and let the ball roll onto the green because if you hit on the green, the ball will roll off. We don't use cart, we normally walk and get her exercise in. This is a fun nine hole only golf course or you can sharpen up your skills. Also, sometimes you can see some wild pigs running around.

Haven't played at this course in a few years but went to the pro shop to buy a new driver this week. It's been like 15 years since I bought my last driver and didn't like any offerings since. But this year Taylormade came out with the Stealth and me likie. Tried a demo and it felt real good. Next stop, find a sale. Roger Dunn had a pop up sale last week but that specific club wasn't included... boo. A friend went to play at Shafter then texted me that they had a 15% off sale. Good enough for me, esp with no sales tax at military courses...Went down and met Lou. Nicest guy. Took my order and said it would probably come in (they were sold out) next week. Well that was Friday and he called to tell me it was in on Sunday. I suppose that is next week huh? LOLBesides a glitch with his credit card machine, it was a very cool transaction. Thank you Lou. BTW, getting on Shafter is such a breeze in the morning. Not much of a line to get a day pass. So we should all play Nagorski once in a while. Keep Lou busy.

This is an update to a previous review. The course has undergone some updating. 1) #3 is now a Par 3, 140 yards from the Blue Tee. It was previously a par 4, dogleg left that did put the houses on the left in the path of wayward shots. The new par 3 is fairly straight forward, however you're hitting straight into the wind, which tunnels through the valley. Wind is this courses' defense. 2) #4 is now a par 5, 485 yards from the Blue Tees. Again, you hit your tee shot straight into the wind. Second shot needs to be a low runner, that cuts the corner as close as possible. The green sits uphill from the fairway that's going to be protected by the wind and bunkers.3) #9 is now lengthen to a par 4, 385 yards from the Blue Tee. The course had shortened the hole by moving the tee box across the bridge to prevent tee shorts going into the child care center. This left a short par 4. The tee box has now been moved further back towards the number 6 tee box.4) The trees at the number 7 tee box had been cut back....but I can see the wet winter has allowed them to grow back some. Playing from the Blue Tees hit your tee shot through the shoot and make sure you aim left.5) Cart paths have been repaired/replaced. Rocks from the fairways have been removed. Generally, the fairways are in good shape and the greens are fast.Overall, I found the golf course was in its best shape ever. Its a simple track that's great for a quick mid-week nine. No driving range but there is a small pitching area (bring your own balls). Getting onto Ft Shafter is a breeze, just make sure you have a mask on at pass and and ID and checking in at the golf shop.

During this COVID19 "pandemic " it was hard getting a tee time anywhere to include the military courses. So I decided to give this place a try. So happy I did, the course is well maintained nice fairways and good greens. This is a 9 hole full size course, I play 1st 9 from the whites and 2nd 9 from the blues, it definitely gives a different feel. The only complaint I have is that the cart batteries almost die every time I play 18 holes.

If you haven't been to the Nagorski course since it's renovation you're in for a surprise. The protruding lava rock have been covered, tee boxes have been moved and cart paths have been repaired. The third hole is now a par 3. Fourth hole Tee box has been moved back making it even more difficult with hazards left and trees on the right. All in all the Nagorski course has been improved and worth a second chance.

$14 twilight walking after 11am for 9 holes. Not much else to say. The course itself is nice, but old. Staff is extremely friendly and helpful and it's never crowded. The driving range is more of a short game range, bring your own balls and hit to a green from the rubber mats on the sidewalk it seems.

The Nagorski Golf Course at Fort Shafter is a private nine hole course. It was $38 total for my husband and I to golf, and I and that was including a golf cart. This is a great course for beginners. Great views of Pearl Harbor from the top of the second half of the course. Don't forget your water (or cooler of drinks), snacks, sunglasses, hat, and some sunscreen!!! Definitely an older golf course -- it was opened in 1919 and designed by the Army Corp of Engineers.Other helpful information:Golf Season: Year roundPar: 34Metal Spikes Allowed: YesDriving Range Available: YesRental Carts Available: YesRental Clubs Available: YesPro Available: YesTee Times Welcomed: YesPrice Range Weekdays $8 - $23Price Range Weekends $8 - $23Credit Cards Accepted: YesThere is a pro shop and two places to eat -- Mulligans and the Hale Ikena.

Great place to play some Twilight Golf! Got there 2:45pm and finished 9 holes by 5pm... we could've played more holes, but decided it was too close to cart return time to start.

TLDR: It's cheap, but you'll get what you pay for - the customer service is garbage. Pro Shop customer service was abyssal. Bad. Very bad, in fact, and worthy of this 1-star rating. My buddy and I registered for an 11:05 tee time and showed about 30 minutes prior to tee time so we could warm up, but there was no driving range. No problem, but when we walked up to make our appointed time, the guy behind the counter (named "Lou"), looked at us like we had a 'unicorn' horn growing out of our foreheads. He painfully took our names in the most passive-aggressive manner possible. When we stated that we wanted to rent a set of golf clubs among our party of 5, "Lou" told us that everyone would be required to rent their own set. Ok. We played along and rented 3 extra sets of golf clubs. Lou admitted before we left the pro shop that the club's tee appointment system was down and was unsure whether our group was "in their system." My buddy produced the confirmation email for the booking. We left the shop. We played our 9 rounds of golf. We returned our golf carts, then returned our rented golf clubs. "Lou" told us we were missing a golf club. We double checked and, sure enough, we had an extra golf club in the one personal golf bag we came with. We dutifully returned the club and then Lou told us we were missing another golf club. We triple checked our personal bag (again) and had no extra golf club from the course, then told we would be charged for the club. We told him we still didn't have the xtra golf club and would be happy to take this up with management if necessary and then left.Coupled with multiple cheap paper signs posted everywhere telling patrons what they're allowed to do (or not) on the course made our experience one of the trashiest I've ever seen on a golf course. Do yourself a favor and patronize a better golf course that may charge you a little more, but give you a far better time.
