I was having issues with my lawnmower. After taking a look at it myself and looking at YouTube videos I took it here for them to look it over and fix it. It is a first come first serve and luckily for me there was no line. On the right side is new purchases and on the left is the area that they look at your items and fix them. They clearly have their rates posted and are upfront and honest. Luckily it was a quick on the spot fix. The guy who helped me out gave me a few pointers and helped me load my mower into the bed of my truck and I was off and able to mow my lawn.If you are in need of someone to look at your mower I definitely recommend this place!! They are fair, honest, ethical, and offer great rates. All this and they serve with Aloha!

Our Tru-Cut lawn mower couldn't start so we brought it here for them to check it out. About an hour later, they informed us that they found the problem and gave a price quote so we gave them the okay to proceed. The next day, we receive a call that it's ready for pickup. How awesome is that?! Great customer service!FYI...they accept credit cards but will charge you a 3% fee so bring cash or a debit card if you don't want to pay that extra fee. We had the cash but had to dig into our hidden/emergency money. Who carries a lot of cash nowadays?! Wish it was mentioned when they called.

All my uncles that operate landscaping businesses come here to get their equipment serviced.I come here for the bowling pro shop. Keith is my guy. He's a Storm & Turbo Grips staffer but is well-versed in all brands. Plugs and redrills, punching up new stuff. Consulting on equipment to fill gaps in my ball arsenal. Grabbing accessories I'm running low on. This is my spot. Mahalo Keith and Uncle T for always taking care! #StormProducts #BrandsofBrunswick #TurboGrips #SwitchGrip

Lawn mower was dropped off by my son because the pull start cord was not working properly. When my son dropped it off, he was told by the person receiving it that our McLain lawnmower was a dinosaur and they didn't make parts for it any more. We left it there so they could look over it and let us know if it was even repairable. We got a call later and was told that it was too old and there were no parts available to fix it. We were told we could pick it up, but, it didn't work and if we wanted to, they have a guy that picks up broken units every Friday to dispose of them. We figured it was worthless and asked if they could discard of what we was told was our non-repairable lawnmower. I started looking on marketplace for a replacement lawnmower and saw many used McLain lawnmowers, and started thinking if ours was non-repairable, why were there so many being sold? We called a little while later and asked if we could get back our lawnmower. We were told they might have disposed of it already, but would look. We got a call back and they said they found it, so my son went and picked it back up.In speaking to someone I know who said he had a McLain lawnmower and whom is familiar with the mechanical operation of the unit said to let him take a look at it. A day after dropping it off with him, I was sent a video of it starting and running perfectly fine. Apparently the starter cord got jammed when pulling it and the return spring was stuck. Person took the side cover off, cleaned and lubed appropriately, reassembled, and it works perfectly fine.I'm not discrediting the companies ability to repair lawnmowers, but I find it very questionable to why we were told our lawnmower was a dinosaur and there were no parts to repair the problem, more so when there were no parts even needed.

My old Craftsman front throw reel mower powered by a Briggs and Stratton engine finally wouldn't start. Took it down to have it repaired and maintained. Matt took one look at it and said, bra this guy obsolete; they don't make parts for it any more. Instead of relying on his own knowledge and experience, he called Roy, who is an old timer with loads of experience and knowledge. A couple of compression checks and carburetor checks and Roy validated what Matt had told me.Matt asked how big my lawn was and what kind of grass i grew. He then suggested that if I was going to buy a new lawn mower not to spend over a $1000 for one of those super nice cutting lawn mowers. He suggested that maybe a rotary mower would be enough for me and that would run me about $500. He recommended Honda (Honda chassis and engine) as the best one to get. He even took me to some used Honda mowers and showed me what to look for. After all of this, there was no charge. Even though there was a sign that said, nothing for free.Mahalo Matt and Roy for you aloha and for helping me out in a pinch. My new Honda mower is running so nice. Now to get my lawn back in shape. If you've got a problem with your lawn mower or it's time for maintenance, please check these guys out. You won't be sorry.

Top of the line stuff but sometimes Home Depot has the same brand for way way cheaper. Their stuff is expensive and I only needed a decent weed wacker for a small yard. Didn't need a high end one that goes for over $300 $400 $500......lol.... the guy at the desk was cool and provided me with excellent information.

Don't waste your time and money!, they'll rip you off! Yesterday I tried to buy some small parts for my Shindaiwa trimmer that I purchased from them in the past. I was told by the younger man behind the counter that I couldn't buy just the rubber grommet in the top of the carburetor but needed the whole carburetor assy.(A021002360, $109.65) also the top cover of the off switch so I needed to buy the whole throttle assy.(C0440790, $54.70). So thinking I have no choice I'll bite the bullet. Had a feeling to check online and guess what I found? Not only were those parts sold separately rubber grommet 12417411120, $2.99 & upper switch cover A045000290, $24.91 but the exact assemblies were almost 16% and 25% cheaper, $92.04 and $40.75! So I had to pay $164.12 vs $27.90 for what I needed. Shipping for this and additional parts under $11 to Hawaii!I tried to return the very next day unopened yet the older guy declined to be reasonable and listen to my concern of being told I had to buy both as assemblies instead of being told they could order the parts separate, told me ALL SALES FINAL, would only offer store credit for the carb and not the switch! I told them why would I take the store credit knowing they'll rip me off again andjaving a bad taste in my mouth with their store? He stood his ground and declined a full refund! ZERO ALOHA which is why they're not called Aloha Power Equipment! If you must buy locally, buy from Aloha Power Equipment or anywhere else!

My 10 blade McClane mower engine starts up but the engine leaked and the blades won't engage. I took my McClane to Waipahu Lawn Equipment for repair estimate. I got a call saying that repair would cost in the thousands. I should just buy a new one. I checked and a new comparable McClane mower is ~$2000. I needed a second opinion.I called Leo with Island Wide Lawn Equipment. He came over, did a quick inspection, and he provided an estimate. He said he can repair the leak but the engine will give problems in the future. For the cost of two repair jobs, he can replace the 3.5L to a 4L engine, sharpen the blades, replaced 1 of 2 corroded chain drives, and fix the engagement clutch. Total is less than 1/4th the cost of a new McClane and way less than the repair cost from Waipahu Lawn Equipment. Within two hours, he replaced the engine and got everything sharpened and working in-front of my garage.

Picked up my Mom's lawn mower, and the staff was so helpful and kind. They helped me load it and strapped it in the back of my truck. Thank you again. Yes, they do charge a 3% fee to the credit card, which didn't bother me because their service was well worth it. mahalo

If I could give zero or minus stars I would have. I have always paid to have my mower picked up/delivered back to me because it's too heavy and doesn't fit in my car. This company has always been so nice and reliable. In Jan 2023, I had maintenance performed on my mower and paid $348 which included pickup and delivery. While I was doing my yard last week (6/2023) I noticed the cord used to start the mower was really frayed and abt to break. I called them up and a very nice person answered and said he recognized my name and said he remembered that I always brought my mower to that shop. Because I just had it serviced he said that he could ask one of the guys who lived in the area to stop by my house and change it for me since they charge $50 each way to pickup and deliver the mower. I called the following week since I hadn't heard from them and the man that answered the phone sounded angry as I explained to him what I was told. He kept asking me who said that. I told him I didn't know the name, he kept grilling me, was it a technician, a sales person etc. I repeated I didn't know. He said he was the owner and knows that they do not offer offsite repairs because of the liability. I said that was what I was told. He said he asked everyone there and no one remembered talking to me. He said he himself lived in Palisades but would never do the on-site repair. He said I could have it fixed but it would need to be brought into the shop and couldn't I bring it in. I said no that's why I always paid for the service. He said that I would have to pay the $50 each way as well as for the repair. I asked him shouldn't the cord have lasted and not fray in 5 months and maybe they didn't check it when the maintenance was performed 5 months earlier. He said they do the best they can and it could have frayed in the 5 months. He asked me how often I used the mower, I replied maybe every other week. He said since I use it 2x month, that's 10 times. I said I didn't think it would have frayed in 5 months and he said that there was a possibility since I've used it 10 times. He looked up my record and saw that I had maintenance performed in January. He said multiple times that he was the owner of the shop and said, "you know you don't have to come to this shop". He made me feel as tho I was making up the story. I was very shocked at his tone and attitude since all my other experiences there have been great and I would sometimes bring treats to the shop. For him to be the owner and talk to his customers that way doesn't make me want to go there or recommend the place to anyone. I suppose he has so many customers that he feels he doesn't have be courteous to them. So I took his suggestion and won't be taking in my mower to that shop.I went to Small Engine Clinic in Pearl City. They were so nice and helpful unlike the owner of Waipahu Lawn. I like how Waipahu Lawn sharpened my mower but I don't know if I can tolerate how the owner was so rude and unprofessional. He does not value his loyal customers because like he said I didn't have to go to his shop
