A hidden brunch place in beautiful Manoa.I stumbled on this place driving by on my way to hike Manoa falls. I decided to stop by and had a great meal. I ordered a locomoco plate, a local favorite food and an ube scone. Both are delicious and well made to my taste. Staff: accommodating and pleasant. They all have a nice inviting attitude. Parking: ample and shaded. If you're having a slow day and enjoys brunch away from the busy city, this place is worth checking out.

Hidden neighborhood spot loved by locals! I lived up the street from this place for 2 months and never knew it was here but last month my friend took me here and I'm glad I finally learned about this place. We went for breakfast and easily found a table outside on their beautiful porch. We both had the avocado toast with an egg and it was delicious. The lilikoi scone was delicious but too big for one person to eat. I didn't have any of their drinks but they looked good. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable and you can see wild chickens and lizards running around . Super cute place to check out next time you're in Manoa.

***DO NOT EAT HERE WITH SEVERE NUT ALLERGIES*** I have a severe nut allergy and informed the staff of it before ordering asking if I could safely eat there. It's obvious the place uses a lot of nuts. They could have informed me that there is too much risk and recommended I didn't eat there. Instead, the girl at the counter said she would add a note to my order and that I should be safe eating their burger and coffee. My husband ordered the chicken salad -- and there was no notice that it included Mac nuts. The chicken salad came out with Mac nuts sprinkled all on top. I went into anaphylactic shock immediately at the table after eating two bites of my burger, a couple of chips, and a few sips of French press coffee. I luckily had an EpiPen with me and an ER right down the road. Whether it was cross contamination from my husbands lunch that they didn't indicate came with nuts or they add inamona to season something in the burger or have nuts in their tomato jam on the burger, I can't be certain. This establishment, while beautiful and safe for those without food allergies, should be avoided at all cost if you have a nut allergy. Wish they would have just recommended that I not eat there.I do realize nowhere can guarantee safety. Just wanting to advise others like me so they can make an informed decision.

First of all, I was a server decades back when it was Wai'oli Tea Room for a summer and that was a wonderful experience. Here was what we all experienced last week though:1. Stay far away on the weekends. The parking is beyond awful and all these signs up above by the Salvation Army don't indicate you can park there. After sitting in the lot 15 minutes, I finally called the restaurant and to asked what to do and they guided me. The man of the phone was nice and helpful.2. I waited behind about sixty people!! Also, the line doesn't appear to stop as it was just as crazy when we left. You better have 30 minutes or more to wait in line after waiting for awhile for parking! :(3. Food Service = No Service. The ONLY WAY to get food now is "service walk-up" INCLUDING the SAME LINE FOR THE BAKERY!! Talk about mismanagement. They easily could have had a separate line for people only wanting baked goods. Then a line for those ordering an actual breakfast, brunch or lunch. It's not that hard, guys! They really need servers there like it used to be, not bussers, as it feels so rushed now.4. The food was lovely with good portions. I had the Waioli Breakfast Bowl! The apple crossant from the bakery was yummy too along with the homemade bread. It's a shame that they are so mismanaged with lines and parking on the weekend. By the time you actuallly sit down to eat, we weren't too excited about the whole experience.5. The bussers and kitchen staff are so nice! Just lovely folks that we talked to. Train them as food servers so we don't have to do the horrible line waits.6. The location is stunning!! I've always loved it. Try it on the weekdays. I hope your experience is better then. I know they are training rehab folks and I wanted to support that. They really should KEEP SERVERS GOING there though. Please make this experience happier and not so robot-like. I feel mixed about the whole thing.

First time to waioli in manoa valley. It's lovely!!! Had the fried rice bowl. Came with fried rice, scrambled eggs, a bacon strip and toast. $14.50. it was delicious. Staff were kind, and checked on us. Coffee is refillable. Order at counter then take a seat. Staff brings you your food. Many areas to sit in the building and on outside lanai. Medium sized parking lot. Went at 1000 on a Tuesday and parking was challenging. Recommend!!!

I would get brunch here every weekend if I lived in Oahu. I ordered the lilikoi scone and fried rice and both were perfect! Also tried mom's banana mac nut pancakes and those were great too.Prices are so reasonable, and love that eating here supports vocational training for folks recovering from substance abuse. Great mission, great food, beautiful patio and garden space, extremely kind staff... what more can you ask for?

My friends and I just finished hiking Manoa falls and I heard a lot about Waioli Kitchen and Bakeshop so we decided to check it out for brunch! The place is big with both indoor and mostly outdoor seating. You stand in line and order and then they'll bring your food to you. It can be hard to find a table if it's busy but a few tables opened up for us, we just had to wait a bit for someone to clean it up. I ordered the breakfast bowl and a chocolate banana bread. The breakfast bowl was good but nothing special. I liked how it also came with some toast to make the meal more filling. The banana bread was moist and not too sweet. I also got to try the chocolate almond crossiant and the chocolate cookie and those were delicious as well! They do a great job with the pastries. Overall, this is a nice place to grab brunch especially after you hike Manoa falls since it's right there. I would come here again to try their other breakfast dishes and pastries!

Waioli Kitchen and Bake is tucked away in a little mountain in Hawaii. This is very well known tourism spot so you have to be willing to wait an hour to find a seat. The wait is definitely worth it. Coffee and Mochi pancakes were so so good. This is the reason I started making Mochi waffles at home! Service was extremely good and I will definitely visit them again. Oh and did I tell you this cafe is so romantic? :)

My first memories visiting the Waioli Tea Room (former name) is when I was a child. My parents brought our family here to enjoy the beautiful lush Manoa Valley greenery, fancy tea and goods. According to it current website, the Waioli Tea Room Opened in 1922. The Waioli Tea Room was conceived as a vocational training facility for the orphans housed at the Salvation Army Girls Home that was also located on the Manoa Campus. The Waioli Tea Room served breakfast, lunch and afternoon tea and at its height and attracted hundreds of guests every day from around the world.Fast forward to September 2024 and I Yelped the old name and found Waioli Kitchen and Bake Shop ("WKBS"). I have been wanting to revisit and experience the updated WKBS. A perfect occasion arose with my Aunty (lives here) and cousin from LA visiting here. The plan was hatched and we arrived around 20 minutes before opening. A bit early but we secured a close parking space. We talked story for a bit and then made our way to the entrance. By the time we started walking towards WKBS, the free parking lot was nearly full! Come early to secure a free parking space. As you enter, you are guided to the menu boards to place your order. It's a stand in line type process. Efficient and organized unless you take a moment or two to ask questions about the menu! We placed our order and paid for it. You are given a number placard to place on your table. If you ordered coffee like we did, your hot cup of Kona coffee will be given to you immediately on the side counter. There is a table with all the condiments you may need. Coffee is refillable and for take out as well! Kona Coffee: 4/5 stars. As you place your order, look to your left and your eyes and nose will follow the gorgeous display of fresh bake goods. So many to choose from. Our breakfast order consisted of the Breakfast Bowl $13.50 (Fried rice, scrambled egg, bacon and toast), Açaí and granola fruit bowl $12.50 and Avocado Toast (Sour dough bread, avocado, arugula, two eggs, sriracha aioli, and goat cheese). Price: ?We picked up baked goods to go. I selected the Candied ginger and lemon scone, Mango Liliko'i scone, Almond chocolate croissant and a chocolate chip cookie. Disclosure: I do not like arugula. I find the bitter taste similar to endives. Not my cup of tea. Having disclosed this, I was pleasantly surprised by the taste of the avocado toast! The combination of items curbed the taste of the arugula! I enjoyed this avocado toast. 4/5 starsThe açaí bowl was equally, if not a tad more delicious! Flavorful and full of toppings. The serving size is small and one person can easily consume it all in a sitting : ). 4/5 starsBreakfast Bowl looked delicious as well. My Aunty ordered this. I did not try it but it looked filling and savory. WKBS sells store merchandise in the restaurant. The restaurant has restrooms available indoors. Service 4/5 stars. The food came out quickly from the kitchen. Water is provided and refilled. Tables are clean and the noise level depends on the number of patrons. Ambiance is 5/5 stars. Open concept seating and beautiful views of the greenery and mountains.

Waioli is an old school location and site of many family parties in the past. It's been decades since I've been. First things first, it's definitely a tourist spot. Minutes before they opened at 8am the line formed. They want you to order first then grab a table. The line moves slow so patience is necessary. We were luckily 2nd in line because an assertive person who must've been in a rush cut to the front. We ordered the breakfast bowl (3/5), avocado toast (4/5) and açaí bowl (4/5). And I brought a few pastries home (apple turnover 4/5, savory scone 3/5, and ginger scone 3/5). Coffee here is good and you can get refills and a to-go cup. Service is friendly and efficient. I think they should have two registers because the lines get long and it does not move fast. You get a number, and the good is brought to your table. Easy peasy. The atmosphere is old Hawaii with a slightly modern touch. Outdoor and indoor seating is plentiful. We opted for indoor because it has ac and didn't want to get bit by the manoa mosquitoes. Parking is free but by the time we left the parking was full. All in all a lovely and peaceful place to grab a bite and casually chit chat.
