The ramen here is delicious! I ordered the garlic wagaya ramen and it was so good, I contemplated on ordering extra noddles! We also had the potato mochi, which was less of a mochi texture and more of a flaky potato texture. I don't know if I'd order the potato mochi again, but I could definitely eat the ramen again! Also, beware, parking is tight in this plaza especially during peak hours.

My honey and I took grandpa to Wagaya on a Thursday night right at 7:45pm. We joined their virtual waitlist about 30 min earlier and were seated right away. The shop is small and cozy, but has tables that sit both 2 people and 8-10.The menu was extensive and we ended up getting the garlic ramen and garlic tsukemen. Both were incredibly flavorful and service was fast. My only criticism was the noodles were a bit over cooked. Next time we will definitely order apps/starters as they looked absolutely delicious coming out of the kitchen. The restaurant is in a little shopping square, and during that hour, parking was easy. We've heard it can be busy around lunch and dinner time, but we're pleased to have such a quick in and out experience with full bellies at the end of the night!

The ramen was delicious, with a rich, flavorful broth, but I definitely wished it was spicier. I ordered the spicy version, and when I asked, the waiter assured me it was spicy enough--but if you're a true chile lover, it's pretty mild. Also, I wouldn't have minded a bit more meat in the bowl. The atmosphere was...interesting. The waiters were even odder--we could clearly hear them talking about how another place they worked at was way better than this one. Kinda funny but also...why are you saying that out loud? Haha.Overall, I'd recommend it, but I'd also be down to try somewhere else next time!

Tonight was my first time at Wagaya. It is a fan favorite of my friends so I decided to try it out with her. She gave the amazing idea of signing up for their wait list prior to arriving. It can be done on their website virtually and it moves very quickly and guarantees you a seat when your name is called. Lots of adequate parking in their lot in front. We ordered the cucumber salad and Shiro ramen. The service was very efficient and quick. We got our ramen within five to ten minutes of being seated. My only complaint was that the noodles were a bit hard. We commented this to a server who was kind enough to redo the ramen and presented us with another bowl just as quickly. Unfortunately the second batch was just as hard. I have to say though that the broth was very clean and tasty and there was a good serving size of pork, which was well cooked and juicy, not dry like some other places. The staff was very kind and it was a clean restaurant with what seemed like regulars. Hopefully the noodles were just a one off. Definitely will return to try again.

Arrived 15min before opening time at 11:30am. They start accepting customers exactly at 11:30am. Not a long line today, but I've heard people start lining up. There was 1 other couple ahead of us today (Fri), but as soon as it was around 11:45am, more people started to arrive and the restaurant was nearly full. The parking lot is on the small side, and holds approx 15 vehicles. However, this lot is shared amongst the other businesses in the plaza. It wasn't in the nicest area, so definitely a different scenery from the Waikiki strip. Nothing luxurious. I didn't feel unsafe though. We were seated right away, and after our orders were taken, our items came out pretty fast. We ordered the corn tempura (hot, crispy, a bit salty, but good, didn't have to dip in the side of salt crystals they provided), shiro tonkatsu ramen, and garlic tonkatsu ramen. The neat thing about this ramen joint is that they allow customers to choose the type of noodles (thin, thick, standard), the level of spiciness (none, mild, med, spicy, etc), and the saltiness of the broth (standard, less salt, etc). I ordered standard for all options and added corn, and it wasn't salty at all. The broth was creamy, not too salty like other tonkotsu ramen places, and the noodles tasted great. The garlic tonkotsu ramen was good too- thick noodles, medium spicy (wasn't too bad, just a kick to it). The portions are decent. We ended with their yuzu citrus sorbet, which was refreshing. It tastes just as it sounds- citrus yuzu in sorbet style. So nothing special, but was refreshing after a savory meal. In Oahu, I would say this is one of the best ramen places, however, back at home, there are a few really good ramen places that would top this place. Regardless, no complaints on the food and service. The restaurant seems like a typically Japanese ma and pa shop. The restroom wasn't the cleanest, and the ramen soup was a bit worn out (at least the one I had). I guess some wouldn't mind it, but it low key got to me, although I ate with it regardless.

After reading the reviews about the crowd, our party of 3 showed up about 15-20 minutes before opening on a Thursday evening. Perhaps the crowd is much smaller on weekdays because it wasn't crowded at all from 5-6pm. We were seated immediately as the first customers. Seems like a well-established mom and pop shop for ramen/noodles in the surrounding area. Service was attentive and friendly throughout our stay.Mini Char Siu Bowl ($6.95): Steamed white rice topped with diced char siu, seaweed, tons of thinly sliced green onion, and shichimi aioli. Not sure if the aioli is usually drizzled but we asked for it on the side which was perfect since we only used a small amount. Good portion for the price and was a win for both adults and a toddler. Garlic Tsukemen ($16.25): Bowl of chilled noodles served with a side hot broth (tonkatsu+fish based) with pieces of char siu, leafy greens, soft boiled egg, bamboo, and green onions. Though the broth was good, it was really lacking the garlic flavor which was what I was looking forward to.Small parking lot within the plaza.

Every year when we come to Honolulu this is always one of our first stop. This year the ramen noodles were a little hard. My suggestion is that the server should ask the customers if they want their noodles hard, medium or soft like they do I Japan.

We have been to Wagaya a few times and each time, it has been a solid spot for noodles and appetizers. The parking lot is small and tight and the restaurant itself is also not very big. Without a reservation, we have had to wait each time. Sometimes the wait is pretty long but other times we were seated quickly. The restaurant is clean and the staff are efficient and kind. The menu has a good amount of options for noodles and appetizers. We like to get the chicken karaage and have tried the potato mochi, gyoza, chili cucumbers, and yasai harumaki. We enjoyed all of these appetizers but usually go for the karaage because it is one of our favorites. I usually get the garlic wagaya ramen, which I thought was very flavorful and filling. The broth has been rich and the portion has been decent. We look forward to continuing to go in the future!

This place is good but nothing special. The mochi potatoes is yummy yum yum the agedashi is also very yummy. We actually got the chicken karaage this time and it was yummy. They don't ask for the spice level like they did the first time we came here. The saimen is aldenti. Too many ramen places but I would come for their appetizers. See my photos
