Great service by the hostess, server and manager. We thank them all for a beautiful experience. Our order was very shareable. Ordered a salad in green goddess dressing, karaage ( huge pieces) chicken, clams in a curry sauce, tacos. My favorite were the chicken and the clams.Drinks, yummy and very "spirit forward"!Lots of parking under building. Validated up to 3 hours.Recommend!!!(Remember to ask to see the "private collection")

A friend of mines found this speakeasy on social media and wanted to visit, he had several experiences at speakeasies under his belt but I'm a complete newbie so take my review (from a speakeasy perspective) with a grain of salt.We came by on a random Monday night with a reservation booked and ready. We awaited outside at the entry (decorated as a bookshop) for a while, there was no one there and there was a couple waiting with us. After awkwardly waiting and looking around for a while, some customers came out to exit and we ask them if we should just go in. They said that if we have been waiting for a while then maybe we should but someone should be outside to greet and help us. I hesitantly walked into a secondary room after the entry with still no one in sight. Going further in was where everyone was. We found a hostess and told her we had reservations and also that another group was outside waiting (they were too afraid to just waltz in).Once we were seated I was able to get a good look at the place. It was very nicely decorated and very dimly lit, I would say a fitting ambiance for a speakeasy. For drinks we ordered:- Nami Hana Negroni: My friend ordered this and he said it was okay- Meet Cute: Wow i usually don't drink but I loved this, it was delicious and I felt like it was dangerously nonalcoholic tasting- Old Fashion: My friend also ordered this after finishing his negroni and he did not like it. He felt that the cinnamon was too overpowering and the drink wasn't mixed well enough. I took a sip and it tasted like whisky and coke (indeed very cinnamon forward though).Food:- Kalua pork tacos: 8.5/10, my friend like this a lot. I don't usually like kalua pork but it was very flavorful and the pickled onions added a nice balance to the meat. - Fish Tacos: 9/10, my friend did NOT like this but I loveeeeddd it. It was very flavorful, slightly spicy and my favorite bite of the night. - Steak Tacos: 7/10, my friend did not care for this. I thought it was okay. The tortilla on this one was weirdly crumbly while the rest were dough and mochi like? Unsure what's up with the consistency difference.- House Karaage: 7/10; my friend LOVED this. I did not care for it. Just typical karaage. The sauce provided was ketchup (really???) and mayo which is terribly disappointing. In my opinion, for a dish named HOUSE karaage they should make a house aioli to pair with the karaage itself. Don't shoot the messenger.- Masa Cakes: 8/10; my friend did not like this, he didn't enjoy the corn meal flavor and texture of the masa cakes. I like corn bread so i liked the masa cakes quite a bit. The pork was also quite flavorful but it (for some reason) reminded me of a school lunch sandwich i'd get in high school. not a bad thing, just something i mentally noted.Overall, the pricing is a bit steep (total came out to be about $110+ with tips) I don't know how much speakeasies usually costs, but the food wasn't mind blowing or even that high of quality to justify the prices. My more experienced friend said it was just okay, 3/5 for him, so I will stick with his rating.

What an interesting find in Kaimuki! You never know what you are gonna get when you try a new place. But this new spot in the old 3660 (bar area) space was unexpected and a delightful experience. We are always excited to try new places...but we didnt know what we were walking into on this one! We heard this was a speakeasy, but we opted to try lunch first to see what it was about. There is an initial separated check in area which is decorated tastefully. Once inside, there is a nice cozy bar area that seems fun. Passing that, we were seated in a nice lounge area that was the actual dining area. Decorated in a whimsical and fun way, we were pleasantly surprised. We were extremely pleased with our server Karina. She made us feel at home and spent time with us like family. This alone would've made our experience great, but we also had food...Kim chee flight-Wonbok was fermented deeply-Light fermented cucumber was good-Non fermented pineapple was such a revelation. Cant stop thinking about how good it tasted and how perfectly it contrasted with the other kim cheeCochinita pibil masa cakes-Sweet corn cake underneath was very addictive -perfect amount of lime on plate to add zesty zip to the dishCurry egg salad sandwich -So I dont eat eggs, but this was the best egg sandwich I've ever had-Chock full of wonderfully unexpected ingredients like beets, this sandwich was a powerhouse of flavor-Universally addictive House karaage-Piping hot, with a lighter batter -Kim chee ketchup really added a lot as the dipping sauceWe are excited to see how the restaurant / club progresses and to see how the menu changes over time. I feel like this space could be a fun place to visit for lots of different types of occasions. We will be back!

Vintage Books is an absolute hidden gem! We made reservations online for a Tuesday night dinner and drinks, and to our surprise, the place was quite busy for a weeknight--always a good sign! Parking was a breeze with validation available inside the 3660 Waialae building, and I really appreciated that when we checked in, the staff reminded us to provide our parking validation. A small but thoughtful detail that saved us from forgetting at the end of the night! The moment we stepped inside, we were transported to another era. This speakeasy-style restaurant is designed like a private club, exuding warmth, intimacy, and classic charm. The cozy ambiance made it the perfect setting for a relaxed and indulgent evening. The menu is designed to be shared family-style, which made our dining experience even more enjoyable. We started with the house karaage, featuring crispy, juicy bites of marinated chicken served with a house Japanese mayo and a kimchee-spiked ketchup! The cochinita pibil with masa cakes was another standout, with slow-braised Mayan-style pork, lime tahini, and sour pickles, all layered on a flavorful cornmeal cake. We also tried the crispy lamb ribs, which were fall-off-the-bone tender, glazed in a rich caramelized sauce, and finished with fresh mint. For a lighter option, we had the cowboy beef salad, where crispy deep-fried short rib was the star, complemented by fresh greens tossed in a citrus-chili dressing that added the perfect brightness. We couldn't resist ordering a flight of three unique tacos, each served on a housemade 'ulu tortilla. The kalua pig taco was smoky, tender, and full of island flavor, while the suadero taco featured braised brisket, fermented black beans, morita chilies, and habanero vinaigrette, bringing the perfect amount of heat and depth. Rounding out the flight of tacos was the tako taco, which combined ahi bacon, smoked marlin, and octopus with a citrus guacamole. For drinks, I stepped out of my comfort zone and tried the Legend of Nearest Green cocktail, a beautifully balanced mix of Uncle Nearest 1884 whiskey, walnut liqueur, and cardamom bitters. It was smooth, complex, and perfectly executed. We finished our meal on a sweet note with the S'mores Surprise, a nostalgic yet elevated dessert featuring graham cracker crumble, rich chocolate crème, toasted marshmallow fluff, and a graham cracker cookie.Service was friendly, fast, and incredibly efficient, but we never felt rushed--we were able to relax, savor our meal, and enjoy the ambiance. Vintage Books is a must-visit for anyone looking for an elevated, intimate dining experience with creative, well-executed dishes and top-tier cocktails. Can't wait to return!

Sometimes you're having a great night and just want to put a cherry on top, even if it's by yourself. But not really, because loneliness is an extreme feeling but we're never ever truly alone. Why? Because we're all connected, even when we may be perceived or even perceive this experience alone. There's a peace in being by one's self. Grateful to experience aloneness in good company. In such a beautiful ambiance, vibration, taste buds flaring. Thankful for beautifully curated space, taste and company. This was my fourth visit, first time alone, and I can see where this is the perfect nightcap to a night out, regardlessssss.! Mahalo nui loa. Cheers to curated, creative, cunning execution

$16 seasonal cocktails that didn't really bring much holiday cheer. It was nice to have several options from their holiday drink menu but everyone in our group thought the drink that they ordered was just "okay" and needed to be chilled a bit. While the decor is festive and probably took a lot of time to setup, that was probably the only thing our group admired during our brief Happy Hour. They had a soothing musical playlist. Bonus was the great photo back drops from multiple angles in the back room.Perhaps we will return to try the food and standard drinks. Thank you for the 3-hour parking validation and best wishes for the New Year!

Great food and solid portions for bar style food. The curry clams with mochi was delicious and a must try. The fall off the bone rack of lamb was super tender. Drinks are pretty good as well. Really like the ambience and the staff was very attentive. You can tell that the staff were trained well.
