Velvet Nightclub

The ambiance is fun, nice dance floor and vip areas! They bring in great DJs that keep the vibe going. Some of the shots have hilarious names, I love it. Sam was one of the bar tenders that handled my large group. He was super fast, efficient, and smiley the whole time! Bonus! He was shirtless. How fun. I'll be coming back here for more weekend evenings!

Velvet is not only Hawaii's newest club, but it is easily the most accessible, comfortable, inclusive, friendly and fun! Located conveniently in the heart of Honolulu, close to other restaurants and bars - Velvet is the perfect place to end your night. Immediately upon entry, the staff is so friendly and warm. The space was so tastefully designed, with state of the art lighting and multiple bars to alleviate the wait time in getting a beverage. The bathrooms are also very spacious and there was never a line! The entire venue was so clean and the temperature was very cool and comfortable, unlike some clubs that tend to be hot and sticky especially with large crowds. The music the DJ was playing was such a great mix and there is even an MC on the mic too! For bottle service, they have very modern and up to date signs that I haven't seen elsewhere in Hawaii. I also thought the price points were so fair, especially for the experience! It was so evident that everyone was thoroughly enjoying themselves. As one of Hawaii's only lgbtq+ clubs, I'd highly recommend for anyone to visit Velvet for great vibes and a good time! They are absolutely elevating Hawaiis night life and it is definitely the place to be! I already can't wait to go back :)

An Unmatched Nightclub Experience! This LGBTQ+ haven in Hawaii is truly one-of-a-kind, creating an inclusive space filled with vibrant energy, welcoming LGBTQ+ folks and allies alike--a rarity on the islands! From the moment you ascend the illuminated rainbow stairs at the entrance, you're transported into an atmosphere that gives me vegas vibes, complete with dazzling lights and an electrifying ambiance.The bottle service takes celebrations to the next level with showstopping sparklers, neon-lit marquees, and exceptional service. The staff are all GORG and very friendly, adding to the unforgettable experience. After capturing some moments at Velvet's Halloween night, I'm excited to share how incredible this spot is--easily my top pick on the island!

This was my third time going to Velvet with my friends. We heard about it when they first opened up, and decided to check it out. The vibes and the atmosphere of it all was a lot better and more upscaled than the usually clubs we go to, so we decided to come back.When we went this time, we got a table for the night! My friends and I wanted to go all out for one of our other friend's birthday, who was kinda hesitant about going to the club. (She says it's not really her thing LOL). Kylie, one of the bottle girls, helped us to get the party started!! The birthday girl was pretty shy, but Kylie's energy was really infectious. So by the end of the night, we were all having the time of our lives. Kylie was also an expert at pouring in comparison to other people I've seen pour. So def if you were thinking of coming here, JUST DO IT. You'll have the time of your life, and cross fingers that you get lucky enough to have Kylie. (btw, thanks girl, we loved you!)

Velvet has a vibrant atmosphere, top-notch drinks, and incredibly fun music, it's the perfect place to let loose and have a good time. Kylie, one of the clubs bottle girls, knows how to keep the party going. Her infectious energy will have you and your VIPs feeling lit all night long.

Given there's only one other LGBTQ club on island Velvet is an amazing addition to Hawaii nightlife. From the guests to the staff the vibes are very welcoming and friendly! The music is great as well. Whether we're in a section or on the floor my friends and I love it here. Shane is my favorite in particular, he's always on his game and is absolutely the sweetest. For anyone looking for a good party spot, I'll always recommend Velvet!

One star only because the people inside the club and DJ were a really cool community. My encounter with security was the worst experience ever! I decided to go out for the night by myself and saw the great reviews for this bar and figured I would feel welcome and safe, I was wrong. Upon getting in line for the venue I gave my ID to the security guard (didn't get his name) but he was tall with a medium build and short curly hair. He held on to my ID for a long time and asked me for more identification to which I complied by giving my college ID. He asked what grade I am in. I told him I'm a sophomore in college. He lingered with it and kept asking for more identification but that was all I was comfortable giving him seeing as there was nothing wrong with my initial identification. He finally begrudgingly says I can go inside and I feel odd. But I go inside and explore and I'm waiting at the bar to order. He then comes behind me and taps my shoulder and says to go with him. I'm extremely puzzled as I have just paid the $15 cover charge and I was let in. Outside he proceeds to tell me that I almost "got him" insinuating that I had given him a fake ID. He then threatened me to take my identification card if I show it to him again. I tell him it's not fake and even offer him my insurance card and another identification card to prove its validity. This all felt very invasive but I wanted to comply and get to experience this club, but at this point I'm exhausted and my mood is killed and I'm questioning if I even wanna go in. He then tells me "if you're a sophomore in college you would be 20" (I am 22). How rude of him to assume what age I would be attending school that was none of his business but it seemed he wanted to humiliate me in front of the other staff and club goers. I couldn't believe how rude he was being to me when I was being compliant. I had so much anxiety I was shaking and almost tearing up. After a painstakingly long interview at the door he again, begrudgingly let me go back in. I felt horrible and it took me a while listening to the music to feel better, I was alone after all and was looking forward to socializing but I was set back. Nonetheless I bought my drinks and had a great time with the community inside. I thought a gay bar would be welcoming and not intimidating to go to alone but he really gave me a hard time for no reason. This needs to be addressed asap I would hate for any other solo travelers to be degraded in this way and this is a loss of business for this club. Seems he's trying to turn away club goers.

I love the bathrooms, me and my coworker could not stop talking about it. U just have to go on a good day but Im definitely coming back.

Great club. Just watch out for this girl soliciting for drinks. She probably will never pay for her own drinks.
