Paris! "C'est bon!" Nostalgia for latte, bonbons, and delightful cafes made me go on a hunt for a fine Parisian bakery in Hawaii. Vavin! Voila! Where have you been?? Delightful in every essence. Fine china and silver dessert forks. A true chef connoisseur from Vavin, France! The cheesecake is divine. There is nowhere that makes cheesecake taste its absolute French finest as you can experience here. I loved the local fusion lilikoi eclair, the push and pull croissant so fluffy and crunchy on the outside, with a hint of delicately brushed sweetness- so mouthwatering. Let me just say it's a taster's paradise. I tried what I could there then brought more to share with family. The tiramisu logs were divine. No tiramisu on island has that eclectic French flair. That latte -iced or hot- so French. So enchante! Park across from the post office and cross the street. Conveniently located next to eggs and things, look for the white umbrellas! I shall be back! You delightful morsel of goodness!! Go early! More than half were gone by the time I eagerly got there by 12:00.

Located on Saratoga St. between Eggs and Things and Castro's. It's rather new, open for about 7 months. It has indoor and outdoor seating-ambiance of a French cafe without the pretense. There is a variety of pastries such as croissants, eclairs, danishes and savory ones like ham and cheese, croissant toast. They serve specialty coffees and teas. For breakfast today, we had the Madagascar vanilla pecan eclair. It was smallish but very creamy and moist- not overly sweet. We also had Valrhona pain au chocolat- it was huge, nice, flaky and airy.Prices are comparable to Halekulani Bakery. They are open daily from early morning ( check hours because today we noticed it was closed early afternoon when we went by again). Yummy way to support small business!

One of our FAVORITE spots that we found while on vacation for coffee and pastries. Everything was delicious but the ham & cheese croissant was unreal.I will be dreaming of it until our next trip to Hawaii!

Took a slow morning stroll over to Vavin. Cute little place with a few indoor tables. So many pastry items it was difficult to choose what to get. Finally decided on the Rainbow ($7.95), Almond ($8.75), and Chocolate ($7.50) croissants as well as a Hawaiian latte. Looks like they fill the Rainbow croissant per order and the almond croissant must have been put in the oven as it was hot when received. Got back to the condo and dug in. Started with the almond one since it was hot. I think because it was in a closed box it wasn't crispy when I first cut into it. After letting it cool, it crisps up some. Surprised to find no filling - it was all on the topping. However, full of almonds and frangipani. Next tried the Rainbow one. This one was crispy, filled with coconut cream and raspberry jam (?), and topped with starfruit- looked like a Xmas tree. The coconut cream might have melted from the heat of the almond one. I think both of these might be better enjoyed while at the bakery. The chocolate one was specifically for the hubs. He said there was a lot of dough and not a lot of chocolate. He said it was ok. As for the Hawaiian latte ($6.75), the coconut flavor was light but it was a good latte.

Very cute little French themed bakery in downtown Waikiki that had the most amazing pastries! We watched as the baker hand filled each one and packaged them up for us and wow! Each one was so good! The croissants were flaky, the fillings were flavorful without being too sweet, it was beautifully packaged, with great attention to detail. Also possibly the most expensive pastries I've ever bought, but the craftsmanship and the fact that it's Waikīkī prices makes it make sense.

Nestled at the beginning of Waikiki, Vavin transports me back to my days in Paris. This cute lil cafe has some pretty good pastries and I'm sad that I went right before closing so I couldn't try what I had my eyes on-- the pistachio croissant. My aunt and I settled on the tiramisu mille feuille which was very flaky and the cream had just the right amount of sweetness. They sell out out fast so better come early!

Vavin Dessert Bar is a Korean-owned French bakery that offers a variety of sweet and savory pastries as well as a nice beverage menu.We came here early in the morning, and we ordered:+a Ham & Cheese croissant - flaky and filled generously with slices of ham and cheese; very savory and tasty+a Hawaiian & Honey Sea Salt croissant - nice and flaky, it seemed it was slightly overbaked; wished there was a filling of some sort+an Orange Zest Latte - had a nice orange flavor to it; the latte itself was strong and creamy+a LatteService was very kind and friendly; note that there is only one barista, and there could be a line.Pastries do seem to run out, and some items are just not available or not being made the day of, such as the Garlic Mushroom I really wanted to try...There are only a handful of seating inside, and there's some patio seating outside as well.+pastries run out/not available +Ham & Cheese croissant+friendly service

This place is super cool! The owner you can tell takes pride in his work, everything is handcrafted and delicious. We went on a Friday late and they were almost sold out of everything, so we came back again Saturday morning for some more treats. We tried the rainbow tree croissant (delish), almond , and Hawaiian latte. I definitely recommend Vavin for a treat! It is slightly on the expensive side but you can surely taste and appreciate the artisanal craft from the chef and this is a unique experience. It's like Hawaii + France combined!

Vavin Dessert Bar is like a French patisserie meets Hawaii - you have your traditional Parisian treats with an Asian twist. When I went around 9AM, some pastries were already sold out! Luckily for me, all I wanted was an almond croissant. There was no line, but 90% of the tables inside/outside were occupied. The almond croissant was warm when I got it (I believe they toast it to order) and it was divine. They don't skimp on the almond filling and I enjoyed every last bite. Would 100% recommend!
