We used to frequent Underdogs regularly a few years ago. Off Waiakamilo next to the Hawaiian Pie company. Small parking lot. Good used to be awesome. We stopped by recently hoping for that same vibe but didn't quite have that experience. Very dimly lit. I had to use my cellphone flashlight to read the menu. Blackened ahi was good. Dynamite chicken was plentiful but a tad dry. Service was good, efficient.

My husband's classmates like to get together every few months, and this time, the meet-up was at Underdog's. It was our first time going, and we vaguely knew where the bar was located and knew parking may be an issue... as crowded as the lot was (and the one next door too), we lucked out and snagged one close to the parking entrance of the road. It's a cozy bar with dart boards and a pool table, too. When we arrived, there were quite a few tables open aside from the middle row, which was reserved for our group. By the time we left, several larger groups had shown up, so the place was busy.We just wanted some light food items to pick at and ordered the butter garlic shrimp ($16) and blackened ahi sashimi ($21). Both servings were larger than expected and delicious. Our friend got the kalua pork nachos ($17), which were a bit different served on top of waffle fries but loaded and delicious nonetheless. The menu has tons of things to choose from, and they also have an extensive selection of drinks, so our group was very happy! Seriously, the best bar food I've ever had!

Parking lot is small so I suggest finding street parking. They will announce if you are blocking anyone in though. For some reason our table area did not have any lights so we desperately needed to use our cell phones and mini flashlights to read the menu and take pics of our food. Food is always great so that's why we chose this place. Lots of tvs all over. You can play darts and pool as well. The staff was friendly and the service was great. Will be back again for another pau hana! (Happy Hout)

Service here is so/so.Sometimes is great sometimes is super bad.Just like tonight.Came in exactly 6:30pm Sat down and left exactly at 7pmTonight at 12/21/2023And for that whole 30minutes as we waited for the waitress to approach us we got nothing. She walked past us walked by us. I even tried to flag her down. She turned around and did not acknowledge us at all.It was me, my boyfriend and my little baby daughter, and we came to eat because we enjoy the food here and it sucks that we just left and we couldn't get our fill because of bad service. The junk thing is me and my boyfriend came the week prior and the service was great. We were greeted upon entering, was able to order in a timely matter and it was a little bit more busier than it was tonight which makes it all the more sad. If it was busy I would have totally understood why it takes long for us to be helped But when it isn't that's where I pretty much draw the line. Don't know when I'll be back again. It's so on and off with this place.

This hidden gem is great for small group pau Hana gatherings. The drinks were reasonably priced & food was very good. The staff are very friendly & accommodating. It's a nice clean hideaway pub on Waiakamilo just off Colburn St. with a cozy ambiance. Parking is limited but nearby street parking wasn't too difficult to find.

We were pleasantly surprised by this unassuming establishment. Nancy took very good care of us, and all of the other patrons, without breaking a sweat. I loved the fresh made pork rinds. We also ordered sliders and waffle fries. Perfect portions, well priced food and beverage menu. Our new go - to place, before checking in at the airport !

Once again we came here with a huge group of our coworkers, and they were able to accommodate our group. It was a Friday night, and surprisingly it wasn't as busy so our drinks and food came out quick. The food was bomb as usual and the drinks were so YUM! Loved that they made the patron shots HUGE. The service was amazing as usual too, I think we had Nancy, and she took care of us big time. She always made sure we had full cups of water and she came to check on us a lot. Our group really appreciates when our waitresses come around often.

Same night after dining in at Aloha Beer co., my girls and i went to Underdogs just to have a few more drinks. First off, i live in the area and parking at UD is always a challenge. I mean, you can park at McDonald's and the Waiakamilo plaza but of course, you will have to walk. Street parking from the back roads would be suggested if the parking slots on property is unavailable. We were able to find available parking! Once we entered however, there was no one to meet and greet us (or customers in general). My girls and i were standing awkwardly by the door hoping that a staff member would assist us further and seat us. That didn't happen. So we walked all the way to the bar and caught an employee to seat us lol (that should never happen to you..). Anyways, our server was pretty cool, we got started on drinks right away: started the evening with patron and lime: yummm. That was a warm swallow haha. My friend got the "buttery nipples" (lol) which tasted pretty good: butter scotch taste with vodka (if i can recall the taste), a smooth and creamy downfall. We had 2 rounds of melon soju after that: that was good... in fact, i think soju is always good!!! We stayed until closing (12 midnight); last call for food was @11: last call for drinks was @11:30; last call to "down your drink before they confiscate it" :P was sometime before they officially clean up and close for the night.

I was looking for a new place to eat in the Kalihi area. I was craving some bar food and saw the reviews on this place so decided to check it out. We came around 6pm on a Friday night. I didn't expect it to be crowded so early into the night. Parking was not a problem as they have a decent size lot. I'll be honest and say the inside is definitely like a dive bar. It was dark, seat cushions were ripping, and just looked worn down in general. But as they say, don't judge a book by its cover. When we arrived, there was literally only one girl working in the front. I mean she was the hostess, waitress for every table, AND bartender. It wasn't crowded, but it wasn't dead either so she was hustling. Took a little bit to get menus and order, but I couldn't be mad because it was just her. Luckily, more workers came after we ordered our food. We got the dynamite chicken, garlic herb fries, and kalua pork nachos with tortilla chips instead of waffle fries. The highlight was definitely the dynamite chicken. The batter was crispy and light, which I loved. Good amount of sauce and packed with flavor. Fries were good too. Crispy with good truffle oil and garlic flavor. Nachos were good, but not anything amazing. Overall, we really liked the food. The portions are pretty HUGE. It was just my boyfriend and I but definitely could've used a third person. I would come back again and try more things since they do have an extensive menu. If you're looking for a super casual spot, check this place out!

Terribly rude "boss" named ray 3 separate instances of unprofessional conduct including bullying type of insults not to mention what concluded when a "large crowd came in so we are stressed and know your are cool regulars but ...?" kicked off the pool table and disrespectful conversation afterwards , unacceptable, absolutely pathetic
