Uncle's Fish Market & Grill

With family visiting from the mainland, I used it as an opportunity to check out this restaurant. Located in Pearlridge Shopping Center Downtown above Long's, parking conveniently fronts the restaurant.Lighting and ambience are well-suited for casual dining, and the decor compliments the atmosphere. Service was good throughout, but the food was just okay. In my opinion, my entree was light on seasoning and my wife said the same of hers. No star deduction because that's a personal preference, but I am deducting one star due to the high prices. The value just wasn't there even for a Hawaii eatery. As one person in our party remarked, "They call it Uncle's because you're screaming Uncle when you get the bill."Bring down the prices and we'll be back.

06.19.2021 - I can't believe I didn't write a review here. It was so memorable taking my boyfriend in for Fathers Day dinner. My boyfriend is a fisherman and he really loves the aesthetics of the restaurant. Everything was fisherman theme. Wall to wall fisherman's dream. We ordered at the time the Deep Fried Calamari Steak, Miso Butterfish, Seafood Grill Swordfish. For dessert we had the Japanese Cheesecake with Haupia Ice Cream. Everything was delicious! ONOLICIOUS GOOD! IT WASa memorable time for us. Would love to return to try the other dishes.

We walked in about 45 minutes before closing (we weren't paying attention to the time, and were greeted and seated right away. They had live music for about 15 minutes before it ended. After quickly scanning the menu I landed on the clams and my partner got the Big Uncle's Combo, a trio of fried seafood. My clams were tasty, but I with the bread was crusty and toasty instead of a single breadstick. I'm not sure when the menu said but online it said the trip came with coleslaw, which you can see it did not. The fish was tasty, so not bad, but it was a little pricey. I was reminiscing about the old location and missing those days.

The space is great for big crowds. We stopped in for lunch and I ordered the fish tacos. The service was great, the food was subpar. It's located next to Gen at the Pearl Ridge Shopping Center.

My first time to dine at this location. The exterior of the building is really cute as you enter. The interior as well. There's ample seating both inside and outside under the covered patio seating. No reservations are required. Came at lunchtime on a weekday and was seated upon arrival.I ordered the crab and avocado salad with dressing on the side. Surprisingly, the salad arrived before the drink orders! (Coffee). Unfortunately, the salad had dressing all over it, so I kindly asked to have my order corrected. The salad was well worth it.My main dish was Ono fish with mushrooms in a butter sauce and choice to starch was brown rice. I only wanted to eat half because it looked like a generous portion, but it was too good and I ended up eating it all.Our server was friendly and attentive. Will come back again sometime.

Lots of parking at the mall. This restaurant is pretty big. Immediately to your left when you walk in is a bar. Sometimes there are live musicians playing inside. The servers are nice and attentive. There is a variety of food and drink from the menu. My daughter loves the clams here!

Fresh fish in central Oahu! This is Uncle's 2nd location at Pearlridge Mall. It's a sit down restaurant located next to Gen. I recently came here for my FIL's birthday! The restaurant was pretty empty with only 2 other parties present which worked out for us since I now have an active toddler. She loved walking around and looking at all the decor! The service was very slowww considering how empty it was. Here's what we got:1. Sashimi Appetizer: ahi with shredded daikon, shiso leaf, & wasabi shaped like a leaf! Very nice presentation. Everyone enjoyed this and the quality was pretty good. It was a bit too fishy for me but, I'm not much of a raw fish person. 2. Uncle's Big Combo: I shared this with my daughter and there was more than enough! It came with a sliced calamari steak, 2 pieces of fried fish, 2 large breaded shrimp, coleslaw & fries. Everything was flavorful and moist. I would recommend this!3. Ahi Belly: my hubby was excited about this dish but, said it was just okay. The sauce was good, a citrusy, butter sauce but the portion was very small and some of it wasn't edible due to fat/bone. Our waiter was attentive and ensured drinks were refilled and boxed our food up. However, he didn't tell us the special & changes to the menu until my FIL asked. Overall, the food took super long & prices are pretty high for the quality & portions.

Good service and good food. Unfortunately it's not open past 8:30 and so we got "kicked out."

My first time eating at Uncle's Fish Market & Grill, and it was pretty good. The service was great. Our waitress was kind and gave us suggestions. She suggested the miso butterfish and I ordered it. She was right, it was delicious. The miso butter fish dish is an Alaskan black cod fillet that's marinated with their house made miso glaze and broiled with cucumber garnish. It was light like butter, and no bones.We also had calamari cut steak and it was alright. I've had better calamari. I think more seasoning would help.Bread pudding for dessert which had dried cranberries, peaches and macadamia nuts with a creme anglaise was pretty good. It was warm, and light when we dug our spoons into it.Overall, great service and miso butterfish was nice. I would come back again.

We were a party of six. Five meals were delivered, the sixth meal was delivered when most of us were done. Chowder delivered by busboy without spoons, had to get attention of server for spoons. No flexibility with menu. A diabetic guest asked for a bit more vegetables instead of rice. Ok, for $5.00 charge. One meal had to be sent back because it was undercooked. A 22% service fee was added for a party of six and a 3% charge for using a credit card.This was a Saturday night and the restaurant was pretty empty. Uncle's was one of our favorite restaurants, not now.
