Try Scuba Diving - Honolulu

Writing this review about a year late but "Try Scuba Diving - Honolulu" was my first time every trying scuba diving and it was the perfect intro! I felt extremely safe and comfortable and a year later I am now a PADI certified open water diver! Since it was a year ago I unfortunately don't remember my 2 dive instructors' names but they were fantastic. It was only 2 instructors + myself + one other female student. It was both of our first time ever trying scuba and our instructors were very clear with instructions and made sure we got the basics down. We went out to Magic Island Beach which was basically a little sheltered cove it felt very safe and protected from anything you could be afraid of in the ocean (big waves, sharks, etc). Frankly, the whole experience seemed to go by very quickly and I felt like we spend most the time just on basics so didn't get to do too much of the fun stuff but that is exactly what I needed for my first time every scuba diving. It laid down the groundwork so I could do a more advanced dive just a few days later where I did 2 dives off a boat! Amazing experience and 10/10 would recommend to any first time scuba divers that want to try it out in a low stakes safe environment.

This was so fun! The guy that took us out took lots of video and photos, he also kept bringing us sea creatures to touch or showed us where to find some. Absolutely worth it and would recommend this highly to anyone who wants to try out the scuba experience without going right into the ocean.

Try Scuba Diving also has a beginners course in snorkeling! Our instructor Nick was SUPER knowledgeable and patient with our family. Even with two members of our group having a "healthy respect" for the water, he made the experience feel comfortable and safe. The entire group spent the evening talking about how the class exceeded their expectations. Thanks for being a part of and helping make our trip to Hawaii Nick!

Beginner-friendly! Anyone is welcome!A few key notes: The company advises you to store your belongings at your own risk, for liability reasons. They provide two large containers to lock up any valuables.You can wear pretty much any clothing you want.The tanks are around 50 pounds and are carried like backpacks. All the weight is lifted once you're in the water. (The tanks essentially act as large life vests.)I went with my wife and my parents. My wife and father were fine, but my mother struggled to carry the tank and use the equipment. Scott, Kyle, and Alex were all patient and focused on ensuring everyone felt safe and confident with the equipment. They had a dive dinghy that they asked people to hold onto (for safety, so you don't wander off or run into issues). My mother struggled with listening, so I kept reminding her to hold on. The instructors also asked her respectfully.To sum it up, thank you for being professional and respectful with clients who may need a bit more assistance.

Giving Instructor Jim 5/5 stars. It was fun, safe, and awesome time. You get instructions in your email. READ the email. Be in your swim suits so you don't hold up the group. You get trained to use the gear, so pay attention.The dive site a small corale area which has fish, sea cucumber, and star fish. Gopro footage only allowed from the guide, so dont bring yours.

I should have my son give the review but fact is, my 18 year old LOVED LOVED LOVED his experience. He now has the bug to go again for a longer dive!Kyle, his instructor, was professional and clear and made all the difference. Gave clear directions and then off they went. Little by little they went farther then all of a sudden, they were diving. It was so cool to watch.It was a great introduction to scuba diving! (Oh, and the GoPro videos are SOOOO cool.)

Honestly, I'm basic diving certified and I loved this class! The team really made it extra special. They're very good in that they do so everyone felt very safe at all times! Best thing I did on my trip :)

Nick was an awesome instructor!! I was certified years ago but at 64 I wanted to do it again. He did not disappoint!!

I went scuba diving with my partner for my birthday. Nick was very funny, kind, and patient. We did a private lesson. I was hoping for clearer water but overall it was a nice experience.

Absolutely wonderful experience! Mike, and Micki are very cool, friendly, and knowledgeable. We felt safe, and in good hands on our first time snorkeling adventure. Definitely will return to advance to scuba!Thank you guys!
