TJ Tacos Mexico

So enjoyed this with friends yesterday and both guys working there were so friendly. I mentioned how I miss horchata so much and they may have it next month!!

Look no further for authentic comida de Mexico! Its here! Prices are reasonable! We got the Taco plate for $5! Delicious! Que Rico! Perfect stop after East Side Playa!

Stopped in after the beach. There was no line I guess since it was 11 am on a Wednesday lol. I got the carnita sopes. It's an $8 plate. It's not the best I've had but for $8 it's pretty dang good. The plate doesn't look like a lot but it was pretty filling. It comes with a pretty big sope with some rice. The rice was yum! My gf got the carnitas tacos and while they were pretty small ($7 for 2 I think???) they were yummy. Service was fast but not as friendly as I would hope. Next time I'm trying the torta Cubana! If you're in the area and craving tacos I would suggest this place. It's cheap and easy.

I know its hard to find good Mexican tacos here in hawaii. We do have our pockets but man it is hard!Driving in Waimanalo we see this taco truck and it looks super legit, however when we got our tacos, it looks like a dry mess.The tacos were single Ply- meaning not the traditional 2 layers. The meat was SOOOOO DRY, and WOW the limes were dry AF. NO juice whatsoever from them. We got 2 barbacoa and 2 (not even sure what the other one was)- but it was the worst tacos ever- also did I mention that they are 3.50$ each??? meaning 4 tacos and a drink cost us close to $18.- see pics and videoGOOD: great selection of all the spanish drinks and flavorsMy husband did say the sauce was very good and spicy, but honestly it needed the sauce bc the meat was sooo dry.TOO OVERPRICED for QUALITY. and believe me ill pay for a great tacoWouldn't recommenced sadly

Love this food truck! It's nice to have authentic Mexican food in Waimanalo. Their foods really good price $12 a plate or $3.50 a Taco.. Their tacos come with rice and beans which is a plus! And the people who run it are super nice. I love their salsa, I always get extra and actually eat it with my other food at home. It packs the heat but everything has such good flavor and is super filling... I highly recommend trying them

Overpriced. Period. I ordered 3 tacos, 2 carnitas and 1 chicken and it came out to be $10. It was $3.50 a taco. These tacos were tiny. It was no way near worth $3.50 for 1, I'd pay .50 or at most $1 for one of their tacos. The 1 star is for the taste. The taste was there, the carnita meat was tender as well. I will definitely not be coming here again due to the prices and quantities.

I drove by TJ Tacos Mexico located on Kalanianaole yesterday. Looked at the menu $12.00 for a carnitas burrito. Ordered it with one bottle of soda. I tipped the lady around 2 dollars. Looked at my charges this morning and it was a WHOPPING $18.00!!!!!!!!I burrito was a decent size, no lettuce, no tomatoes as pictured in the photo on the food truck. I had a small container of hot sauce with some chopped lettuce with no dressing. That's it! The burrito was tasty but noticed three large fatty pieces at the end of the burrito. I am so disappointed. How did a 12.00 burrito, a bottle of soda Jarritos, plus the tip equal to $18.00???????For that price, I would expect sides of beans, rice, and a decent amount of salsa. I am not going back.

Rico.... yumm...So delicious that we ate as we drove 20 minutes later and almost home ,we turned around and went back to get more ....That is the first time we have ever turned around....... Absolutely Delicious Authentic Mexican

God knows how much I've loved this truck. It goes back to when they were still in Kailua, so trust that I literally lost my mind when I saw they were posted up permanently in Waimanalo. I paid them a visit yesterday and it being my 4th visit in the last 6 months. Everything has seemed to decline. The meats are so dry ( Al Pastor & Barbacoa) and almost flavorless, limes given had no juice, the beans were basically water. I had to mix the rice in to give it some kind of texture or it would be considered soup. The service has been so-so It used to just be the Owners, who were the sweetest. Then they hired kinda random workers that came and went, wasn't the friendliest but it wasn't "cold" either. One time the girl forgot to put in my order and I was the only one there so I waited about 20mins. The prices have increased noticeably, much like everything on our lil island.. so it's not much of a complaint. What bothers me is their math! What do I mean you may ask? the last 3 out of 4 visits if I didn't pre-add everything in my head, they woulda overcharged me significantly!I brought my friend for lunch and we ordered 4 tacos and 2 Jarritos. So what should of been around $20 give or take, homegirl deadass looked me in the eyes and said $36 -_- whet? honest mistake I guess?.. Yesterday, my total should have been $26, I was told my total was $36. This is by a completely different worker. I'm not saying or accusing them but just pay attention to your total. Sunday is my only day off, I'm not trying to really think and double check peoples calculations.
