Thomas Gentry Community Center

Poor communication. Last minute info/followup.Long story short. Called last year to give info for a party. Took my number down but never called back so I called back and also went in person. Was told will get called back next day for more info, but I didn't so I called back and was disappointed after a week looking as things were going positive, but I was wrong. Don't get me wrong associates were nice, but how things were handled or organized was messy.

If you are an Ewa by Gentry resident you can purchase yearly passes to get access to this pool and rec center. I come here for the pool! It's heated through solar and it is a pretty good size. It's never crowded here unless someone is having a party. They have a large pavilion and a smaller area with kitchen a fridge to use. They have bathrooms and an outdoor shower which is very useful. There are also a lot of beach chairs that are good for getting some sun while you swim. I come here to relax and unwind. It's a good quiet place to get away and clear your head! Also there are no houses near by. It's next to a large park/grassy area and empty lot.

So, in order to use this rec center you will need to purchase an annual membership. Its $50 for the first person and $15 for the next person. Anyone in your household MUST have their own membership card. In other associations, the rec center is included with your association fees but I guess that's why we have such low association fees in Gentry.With this membership, you are able to use the pool and reserve the pavilions there. The pavilions are nice, they have all the chairs and a food prep area but to reserve the area is pretty pricey. If I remember correctly, its around $200 for 4 hours of rental which I thin would have been ok if these pavilions were enclosed and with AC, ESPECIALLY here in Ewa Beach... but they aren't.What I do like about this place is the pool. The pool is warmed by solar, so as you can guess living in Ewa Beach, the pool is always nice and warm even into the evening hours. The water has not been too chlorinated in all the times I have been there, so that is always a plus for someone like me with sensitive eyes.They have tons of loungers and small tables for you to relax on. But be aware, there is no lifeguard on duty here.

Always love coming here to swim. It's nice, cool, and relaxing. It's never busy so that's a plus. The staff are also friendly and it's really a nice place to chill with friends, family, or if you need time alone.

Ewa by Gentry homeowners (and renters/tenants of an Ewa by Gentry home) are privy to a community center that's exclusively for them. Located on Keaunui Drive next to Thomas H. Gentry Community Park sits a lone structure that houses an outdoor lap pool and party pavillions.Having a community center like this is a huge plus because here in Hawaii there is no such thing as a "small party." There are two pavilions available for rental: LARGE PAVILION:- maximum capacity is 88 people - that provides 16 tables and seating for 88 people- damage deposit check of $275.000- rental fee with pool access for $375.00- rental fee without pool access $275.00- minimum time to rent pavilion is 5 hours- additional hourly rate if your event surpasses 5 hours is $55.00/hr- additional hourly rate for pool time if your event surpasses 5 hours is $25.00/hr- FULL KITCHEN AVAILABLE ON PREMISESMALL PAVILION: - maximum capacity is 39 people- that provides 8 tables and 39 chairs- damage deposit check of $175.00- rental fee with pool access for $275.00- rental fee without pool access is $175.00- minimum time to rent pavilion is 5 hours- additional hourly rate if your event surpasses 5 hours is $35.00/hr- additional hourly rate for pool time if your event surpasses 5 hours is $25.00- NO KITCHEN AVAILABLE FOR SMALL PAVILIONAlso note there there NO LIFEGUARDS OR ATTENDANTS ON DUTY TO PROVIDE SUPERVISION. What I love about this place is that your guests can get as loud as they want because there is no immediate housing nearby that would complain of noise pollution.It's a great venue for parties that require more space than your home or perhaps something not the size of a banquet room at a hotel or country club. Perfect for the "small" local parties. There is tons of parking specific to this community center but also tons of available non-metered street parking.There is also a resident pool membership if your specific housing does not have a pool. The fee is an annual rate of $50.00 for head of household and $15.00 for each additional household member who is 7 years and older. There's a pool schedule that allots for open swims, swim clubs and lessons as well as overnight lap swims (it's an additional fee to have access to night swims).In my opinion, this is such a great asset to the growing Ewa plain community. The only downside is that this community center is that it's for all Ewa by Gentry (can't have just one if you're gonna build up the entire west side of Oahu). This is strictly a community center with no recreational equipment (like a gym or workout equipment).

I will suggest staying away from Ewa Gentry unless u want to live in a community who got my already bad enough brim injury and are of no help they still haven't finished painting the trim so my front entrance looks like a 2 year old started but never bothered to finish so my house now looks I would like to say that everyone at the club house is fantastic they understand that I'm 38 & disabled and besides the kids making fun of me I can handle it. Why I can't handle is being beaten until my head was bashed in I had 2 teenage girls beating me as I'm telling them u r killing me, I have MS, liver failure, currently recovering from oral surgery until my stitches were bashed from the savage attack that my stitches were ripped out of my jaw, as well as having 7 pending and 8th, I've had to have heart surgery and may need a liver transplant . I have asked the HOA on countless occasions of me being tormented and that there is a meth lab in the neighborhood but nobody believes me. Thanks to following ismael or Oswald both names are listed with same number on our mailbox wall. I followed what u said to a t. And I was sexually assaulted while being beaten by 2 girls. I pleaded for them to stop because they were killing me as I screamed for help reminding her of all my disabilities and she is gunna kill me and she just sucker punched me in my head again, may I remind u I already suffer from MS which makes me feel horrible that I have no way to defend myself .May I remind u that this tormenting has been made well aware of the situation and when asked for mediation between neighbors I was laughed at. Ewa Beach PD should be ashamed of themselves as well. And after so many complaints and police reports they've intentionally made racist and horrible remarks because of my disabilities. What is your HOA even do???? Cuz they've gotten me murdered for wanting a paycheck and careless about there disabled residents who they don't even have handicapped parking and have been refused parking passes after for had a mandatory recall and the rental and the other family car won't fit in garage yet they can completely refuse to follow parking rules but it's ok for everyone else to park illegally but god forbid they should care. Thanks Ewa Gentry HOA, Ewa and Kapolei PD, as well as the HPD, u now have my blood on your hand as well as an additional brain injury. I have no problem signing a HIPPA FORM. To prove my accusations, if I don't wind up dead b4 then- Oswald ismael know exactly who this is from. Thank again for our own HOA is allowing our property valued to plummet and will continue to plummet more that's why I'm going nationwide and expose how Thomas Gentry allows his residence to be beaten almost to death that's why I have no choice but to go national. Ewa Gentry you'll be hearing from my attorney for allowing this to escalate to the point of Me being mamed and almost mudered.

Payed for swimming lessons, after 3 lessons Covid-19 started and lessons stopped. Was told by the office that it will resume after reopening. Later received an email from the office that I will not going to be getting anymore lessons and I will have credit for the remaining amount, but with the new policy before I can schedule anymore lessons I will need to pay $60/year membership. Scam.
