Hi Lisa.Did they go to the market? Did they go to the store? Did they go into my stomach. Yes.Thank you for being so friendly and introducing me to your delicious pipikaula Hawaiian beef jerky. And, of course after you gave me the sample, my wallet comes out. I always enjoy and make a point to visit KCC to see what's new besides trying the many favorites from past years. In walking the aisles of stands, the magic word "Pipikaula" caught my eyes. Being a huge jerky fan, I couldn't help from stopping here. The texture, the flavor, the bite... Sold. Saving stomach space for a bowl of pho a few steps away, I didn't even read the menu of cooked food here. In hindsight, I should have considered it since this is how it read (https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?userid=saJuyv784apZzH--psHZ3Q&start=288&select=3YxBy801F_CrFGg32J2A6A). So back to what I bought, my friend who I gifted a small bag generously shared her bag of jerky (https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?userid=saJuyv784apZzH--psHZ3Q&start=96&select=gs2nAcoP4ZTBTKjKwm4sEQ). I enjoyed the spicy one just as much as the original one that I sampled at KCC. I brought two large bags home for myself and a couple bags of each as gifts for Bay Area friends.Thank you again, Lisa, for introducing this to me and, hopefully, when I visit next year, I'll get to try your cooked food besides getting more bags to bring home. Look for them at the Saturday KCC farmer's market.

#46 of 52 (weeks of trying a new restaurant at least once a week)I saw someone review this on IG and bookmarked it for a future visit. We didn't want to go far from home for lunch so we decided to finally give this place a try. I will mention before I get into this review that I don't really like BBQ sauce. I like the vinegar versions but not the sweet sauce that a lot of meat has on it when you go to a BBQ joint. Ok enough of that......We arrived at the rum distillery and parking was not an issue as it wasn't very busy. You walk through the building until you get outside, make a left to go behind the building and you've arrived! The menu is not huge, which I appreciate, so we were able to quickly make a decision. I went with the brisket plate that came served over rice with a roll and some coleslaw. My honey got the rib plate with baked beans & brisket, a roll and coleslaw. We also had to get a side of the smoked sausage trio. We took a seat to wait for our food. They have picnic table set up that are covered which was really nice. It's outdoors and there are flies but they had those battery powered fly fans to keep them away that you could grab and put on your table. Our food didn't take too long and when we picked it up they pulled out some sauces we could try. We tried both, a regular one and a spicy one. I really liked my brisket. It was nice and tender and just the right amount of fat. The coleslaw was good but I don't know if it was homemade. It tasted like the bag salad with dressing you can get at Costco. Sausages were good but again, not homemade. My honey really liked his ribs and he ate more of the bbq sauces than I did and he really liked the sauces. His baked beans and brisket were good too and not too sweet. Portions are generous so we had some to take home and munch on later. If you're in the area be sure to stop by and try it! We'll definitely be back.

This lil restaurant is located in Kunia Camp away from the hustle and bustle of the city. Pretty hard to find if you don't know what you're looking for. Anyways, look for KoHana Distillers. Walk through the distillery to find a doorway all the way in the back. And viola, the eatery is right there. Plenty of picnic tables for seating. By the way, there's plenty of parking outside. It's just that there's no sign for the restaurant. They focus on BBQ. The menu isn't large, but everything I've had has been a winner. The baked beans and brisket was awesome. Served in a bowl of rice topped with beans, brisket, and sweet bbq sauce. This was my favorite. Brisket was tender, flavorful and just delicious. The mix of the beans and rice was really filling. I got a side of brisket as well. It came with rice, a roll, and some coleslaw. This was a good second choice. They offer sweet or spicy bbq sauce. Both were good. It's a drive up to this place but it's well worth it. Popular with tourists going to the distillery or the military from the nearby bases. By the way, there's plenty staff were amazing. Friendly and pretty fast.

Hubby wanted to try this place for a while so he picked up lunch for us the other day. He was the first customer at opening so it wasn't busy at all. He ordered brisket, tri-tip and the sausages, which came with rice, coleslaw and a roll. The tri-tip was served over a crunchy salad. There was plenty of food for the two of us to share and have some left over for another meal. Meats were tender and flavorful; even though some of the brisket was a little fattier than I preferred, I think it was the best of the bunch. A little on the pricey side for a plate lunch but good quality overall.

(Dined 05/20/23 SA @ 2:00pm): This lil piggy... had BBQ!After a friend and I had an afternoon of rum tasting at KōHana Distillers, we were excited to get some food into us and were excited to try This Lil Piggy, a little hidden BBQ joint on the same property. We weren't exactly buzzing from the tastings, but we also didn't have any snacks or such to temper any potential alcohol effects. Plus, once we heard about it, checked it out, and smelled the aroma, the decision was made. Did we savor more than lil piggies to fill our bellies!?PURCHASE3-Choice Lunch Plate - Kalua Pork, Smoked Sausage Trio, Ribs ($22.00): You also had the option for a slider, but we went full meat since the meal already came with a piece of Hawaiian sweet bread. This was a massive portion that was perfect for sharing between the both of us. The kalua pork was finely shredded and seasoned perfectly. The smoked sausage was a meat-gasm in the making as each piece was juicy and succulent, while the ribs were thick, lightly sauced with more of a dry seasoning, and didn't exactly fall off the bone but was tender with some nice charring. Their homemade coleslaw was refreshing and seemed more like a mini salad than actually slaw which was fine. The rice and sweet bread rounded out the meal nicely, but I wished there was an extra scoop of rice for all of the sausage pieces. Magnificent! https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw&start=1776&select=aNx-qbHv1x8wSsYTeve-cwHalf Pound Texas Style Beef Brisket Sliced ($15.00): Half pound of beef brisket served with a side of their "cole-slaw-from-scratch", a Hawaiian sweet bread, and a scoop of rice, we also shared this large portion of food and the gigantic slices of mouth watering brisket. You were nearly able to tear off strips of glistening moist seasoned succulent meat with just enough fat content to add more flavor. And, I loved a good char on my meat which had plenty of for an added crisp. Damn this was good! https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw&start=1776&select=dgVnl3O0hdXmAlCLIqWiqASERVICEWe were warmly greeted by a couple of friendly gentlemen behind the counter as we started casually chatting about their business, the menu, and what to order. After we placed our order, we were given a number, we found a place to sit, and just roamed the grounds until our food was ready about ten minutes later. Once we started eating, it was over. We said our salutations as we threw away our trash and returned the trays, and that was it - mahalo!PARKING (FREE)They basically shared the private parking with KōHana Distillers - 'nuff said!ATMOSPHERE, DÉCOR, AMBIENCEBasically located in a shack out back behind the distillery, there was an order window with a menu https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw&start=1776&select=k_PDvNYeaXM8Hx8mpukj1Q posted right next to it, a spacious covered dining area https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw&start=1776&select=4_c1aMrbtHrslEPD7N5C3Q with several communal wooden benches/tables, and views of the agricultural land https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw&start=1776&select=ZOJHj9pAvaZldITAjn7y0g this property sat on. Plenty of natural lighting since you were outdoors while rows of electric ceiling lights filled in the rest. There were no TVs nor any background music. https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw&start=1776&select=IbrAdSbuT4pMvbKzDseKFgATTIRETotally casual, so I would normally be in a t-shirt, boardshorts, and flip-flops.OVERALLThis Lil Piggy was an amazing "find" and would definitely consider a return visit if I were in the area. Sadly, unless you planned a visit to Kōhana Distillers or were passing through, This Lil Piggy was generally out of the way. The menu was simple and tight, the portion sizes phenomenal, the prices were more than comparable, and the service was chill and laid back. Sadly, they didn't serve any alcohol which would've paired well with the BBQ. I suspected this was a pet-friendly place. I found complete value based on the prices, service, and experience noted above (TOTAL paid experience was around $39.00 BEFORE any discounts and/or tip). And, they accepted my credit card of choice... AMEX! 5.0 STARS

Shaded, outdoor picnic tables for seating. Super friendly service, food came out surprisingly fast and everything was delicious! I've had a lot of bbq in Texas and Tennessee...the brisket was great and I cannot tell you how much I appreciate that the sides were equally tasty! I don't know what they put in the slaw, but next time I'm getting more! This was totally worth the drive over for an excellent lunch!

This is a hidden gem located in the back of Kohana Rum. Pretty pricey, but it's BBQ and what isn't pricey nowadays. The flavors were there and it is a nice change to the typical plate lunch. Hard to find good BBQ, we haven't quite found a spot that reminds us of TX BBQ but This Lil Piggy comes close!! The only complaint I would have is the flies. Being that it is outdoor seating and smells good, the flies are constantly trying to dive into your food. They do provide those table top fly deterrent fans. There is only 1 per table.

First time trying,, Hubby's choice. Located in back of Kohana Rum Distillery. Cute plantation style set up. Order at the window and pick a picnic bench under the covered pavilion. We came during lunch, but they have the pavilion strung with festival lights, must be pretty at night,The girl who was at the window was very friendly and welcoming, she took the time to explain the menu and when I told her what I specifically wanted she suggested the best way to order it. The food was ready in less than 10 min. ! Food was hot and tasty. I ordered the baked beans and rice bowl, sweet baked beans with pieces of brisket inside and I ordered the Sausage Trio which was Keilbasa, Portuguese Sausage and not sure what the other other one was. It was good! Hubby ordered the 3 piece pork ribs which came with rice, coleslaw, baked beans and a Hawaiian Sweet Roll, he also ordered the Beef Brisket which came with the same sides. Hubby enjoyed it saying the coleslaw was creamy and everything was flavored well. It also came with a sweet and a spicy BBQ sauce. The place was not crowded at all. Came on a Sunday around 1 pm. Parking is in the lot right in front of the distillery. The only downside was that there are a lot of flies trying to get at your food, which is understandable since it is an open air pavilion. They did have those battery operated fly shooers but none of them were working accept one, we waited till the people who had the working one left and took it. Also, although it was a hot day there was a nice breeze, it would probably be really hot if there were no trade winds.I would definitely check it out! Support Local!

This place is located in the back of Kohana distillery. There are no signs - just walk through the tasting room and out the back door to the left. I've had really good bbq in Texas and the south but given that this is Hawaii, it's not bad! I love that they give you rice almost with every entree and the portion sizes are not overwhelming. We ordered almost everything on the menu except the sliders so I can't speak for that. For me the winner was the sausages! Smoked Portuguese sausage - yum! The baked beans and brisket tasted more like a good chili. Smoked meat was a little too sweet for my taste but everyone else loved it. Ribs were delicious and juicy. They give you bbq sauce (sweet or spicy) to put on everything but I don't think it was needed.

We all ordered something different, so got to try everything in the menu (beef brisket, smoked sausage, pork ribs, pulled pork sliders, and beef ribs). Honestly everything was amazing! But, the beef ribs were so so good! Everyone in the family thought the beef ribs were the best! 10/10!We will definitely be coming back!
