The Sunrise Shack

Okay so you need to know Sunrise Shack has two locations on both ends of the Waikiki strip. This one is located on the southern part of the strip. I was thankful for this place because instead of walking 15 minutes to the other side it was only a 5 minute walk from my hotel. The space and decor is well decorated and the cashiers are all very pleasant. There are a few tables in the front if you get there early enough, but if you don't the beach is just right across the street. Let's talk about food.Strangely their açaí bowl was the most disappointing part of this review and even then it was still really good. Their acai is perfectly sweetened and they give a nice amount of granola. I was very happy about that. My only feedback was please add more fruits to your açaí! I only got a banana and was so disappointed that there weren't blueberries and strawberries.BUT their tropical bowl definitely makes up for that. With a mango instead of an acai base, its the perfect level of sweetness to fruit ratio. Its topped off with pineapples as well. Highly recommend this one.LAST but not least DO NOT SLEEP ON THEIR TOAST. Probably one of the best smoked salmons Ive had. Whatever spread they put on their toast it was basically perfection and the toppings were well thought out. Overall definitely recommend for your acai fix with fast service and clean space to eat.

You'll find the quintessential beach wake-up experience at The Sunrise Shack, along with the early-morning fitness crowd, the beachgoers, and the tourist passers-by. Bulletproof keto coffees, various toasts (we shared the savory salmon and sweet berry versions), and other bowls are available. No pastries. Friendly nimble staff, able to deal with coffeemaker issues on the fly, and a view to die for make The Sunrise Shack a destination cafe.

I stopped by the Sunrise Shack on a walk to get a coffee to go. The store is really cute and a fun aesthetic, which is what drew me in. I ordered the Mac nut bullet iced, they are mainly a smoothie and bowl shop but I was just feeling a coffee. The store was pretty busy but my coffee came out quick. Sadly, I was really disappointed with the Mac Nut Bullet drink. I didn't think it had a much flavor but the main thing I disliked was the gritty texture, and I couldn't taste any coffee. Id suggest that they incorporate more coffee (for flavor) and blend for a while longer. Additionally, I hate when places upcharge for an iced drink. I was sad that I paid $9 for a bland, gritty drink.

Super cute spot for breakfast! Everyone was really friendly, and we loved that the acai bowls came in varying sizes (sometimes you don't need a mountain of acai!). The acai tasted a little like banana, but it was tasty!

Everytime we walked past the shop they had a good crowd outside dining which is usually a good sign. We really enjoyed the smoothie bowls though they were a little more runny than what we're used to for true 'acai bowls' but maybe that's just their style. I enjoyed that they also put granola at the bottom of the cup so that you're not just eating the fruit mix at the end (nice job!). The peanut butter bowl also had peanut butter at the bottom which was a good idea but can leave your mouth full of PB and dry at the end. Overall solid bowl and a perfect snack after surfing with JOB next door.

Totally love this place!! They have delicious and healthy quick morning on-the-go options to kick off your morning in Hawaii. I love them!! Was craving something light and refreshing one morning but didn't want to take up too much of my time sitting @ a restaurant when I found The Sunrise Shack. Went back two more time during my week in Oahu. Totally recommend it. You willno be disappointed.

This location is great! Across the street from the beach & around the corner from our hotel. We had some time before our rooms were ready so we stopped by here based on a recommendation for a healthy vegan snack. We ordered the Ube Bowl (banana, ube, coconut milk, almond milk, coconut sauce) & a regular avocado toast (Regular: Toasted sourdough bread, topped with local avocados, hemp seeds, cracked black pepper and a lemon wedge). The bowl was pretty good, but the avocado toast would not be a repeat. It was on a very thin slice of (looked like pre-sliced, store bought) sourdough bread. The avocado was good, but I expect a heartier piece of toast.

Very cute location located in Waikiki. Friendly service, beautiful view, and ample seating. Acai is fresh and beautifully made to order. Each bowl comes in a variety of sizes, which is great if you want only a small snack or a larger meal. Will be returning next time I'm here!

Super cute place in the middle of Waikiki! We got the ube acai bowls, but they also had drinks that look pretty good
