The food was incredible!! The Kalbi was out of this world, so flavorful and fell off the bone. Pineapple slaw and rice were a great side. The mix green salad had the most delicious dressing. Mac salad had a nice tang of lemon/vinegar. Corn bread melted in your mouth! Fried mahi mahi was immaculate - dressing really slayed. My only critique was the ahi nachos - one of the sauces was incredibly spicy it was hard to eat, coming from people who love a kick. The banana cake with chantilly icing so moist and flavor packed to top off. Overall 10/10!!! Everything was super fresh - felt as if it was farm to table. Must stop by!!

This was one of my favorite spots in Oahu! I loved how many authentic local dishes they offered including lū'au, kalua pork, and lomi lomi salmon. All of the food was sooooo delicious--my favorite was the lū'au which was made with octopus! It all tasted very fresh and much better than the stuff I found in Waikiki. For the big platter pictured in my photo, it was approximately $25. Not the cheapest lunch but definitely worth it!They offered seating both indoors and outdoors. My only wish was that they would have had fans outside or something, to disperse the flies more easily--those were quite pesky. Great spot if you're up in North Shore and/or getting some rock climbing or hiking in out near Mokuleia!

This is a fantastic place out of the way in Waialua. They have great food and a very wide selection. They have great seating in their little shop and a wide variety of beverages, smoothies, fish, and typical food. They didn't have any diet soda so I drank bottled water. That was the only downside... The smoothies were amazing, delivered in an old canning jar. I loved every minute of slurping it down. Great flavor, perfect consistency, absolutely wonderful. I got Loco Moco, The Babe™ got the fresh grilled fish, and our travelling companions got the grilled Ahi.The food was fabulous...very delicious & prepared well. We kept swapping bites of different dishes while trying to talk. We also shared a wonderful cinnamon roll for dessert.Definitely a great place to eat and one for which we will return. They also have pupusas for dinner but we were there at lunch.

Just wanted to update my review based on my recent experience. I got the loco moco as I had been craving it and remembered that they had a good one. This time it was very average at best. The meat was somewhat tough and lacked flavor. Also the gravy was dark as I typically like it, but tasteless. In addition, the girl at the cash register did not seem happy to be there. No smile or greeting or thank you. The lady who brought out my food (I think she's the owner) was very nice and pleasant though.I hope this was just a bad day for them, as I've always enjoyed their food in the past.

My bf and I came here after a beach day and we were excited to try their plate lunches! I got the furikake ahi and he got the panko fried mahi which came with rice and mac salad. The amount of fish they give you is quite generous but I did feel that it was quite dry. My plate had teri sauce and his had some tartar sauce and I think the sauces helped to add more flavour to the fish because it wasn't as flavourful. I liked the mac salad.I asked for a macadamia sticky bun and got a warmed up old fashioned donut with some mac nuts on top. I thought it was the large cinnamon bun looking sticky buns when I asked at the cashier so I was a bit surprised. This was also okay!

I needed some late lunches for us and this showed up as an option nearby. The setting is in an old, very hot warehouse with old chairs and tables, old donated books to peruse while you wait, a section of brand new books and souvenirs to purchase, and an outdoor eating area in the back.I ordered three plates and three desserts. For plates, I got the grilled fresh fish, panko fried mahi, and grilled ahi tacos. For dessert, I got a coconut donut, coffee cake, and strawberry cupcake. The plates were scrumptious and we all enjoyed them. The desserts on the other hand, were all hard as if they had been sitting in the dessert window for days. We were pretty surprised when one of us mentioned it was hard then the other two said ours were hard too. Hockey pucks. The employees were there at your service but not very friendly. I was asked if I wanted a box to hold my items. I said yes, she handed me the box to put it in myself, and the food was in two different places on different counters.Overall, the plates were delicious and I would come back for that. Just don't get the desserts, totally not worth it to get old, hard desserts. Maybe they get the day-old ones from the bakery next door and just hold it in the dessert case.

Great place that we can take our doggie, we went mid morning for breakfast and it was pretty empty so perfect timing. Great food, nice comfortable eating area, and wonderful food. We had the Hot coffee, taco's, Loco Moco, & Cornbread & Gravy.Loco Moco was our favorite, hamburger is nice and tasty and the gravy was perfect and not salty.Cornbread was beautiful, an a awesome balance of sweet and savory with the roast pork.Taco's was great, nice spicy peppers and sweetness with the mango salsa.

We have been to this restaurant a few times for carry out, because the sweet potato poke is really good. But we returned this morning to try something else, and service and drinks were pretty terrible. The two workers at the counter ignored us upon arrival, and we had to ask to be helped. We ordered a hot tea and a black coffee. They brought old cold tea, and a coffee with milk in it. We asked if we could have hot tea instead and gave the cold tea back to them, and they told us we we would have to pay for a second tea. So we were expected to pay for two teas (at $5 each) because of their mistake. At this point, we figured there was no way they would correct their mistake with the coffee, so we just kept it. The tables were also so grimy that the book I brought with me stuck to the table after sitting there for a couple minutes.

Terrible service - restaurant wasn't busy and we waited over an hour for our food. We had kids with us and they were melting down because they were so hungry. When the food came, the meat was burnt and the beet poke salad was meh. The saimin had no flavor. Tables were sticky and dirty. We were very disappointed in our meal which was not worth the very long wait. The servers were not apologetic at all for the wait time. We will definitely not be coming back.
