In early February, my dear Yelp Friend (Robert P.), with whom I've corresponded for 12 years and is from Riverside, California, contacted me to inform me that he and his lovely wife would visit O'ahu for the first time. Although we visit Southern California reasonably frequently to visit our relatives, who keep us busy and entertained, we haven't participated in any Yelp Events in Los Angeles or met with our fellow Yelp Friends in person. However, Robert and I have stayed connected through Yelp compliments over Asian restaurants in the San Gabriel Valley, cooking, and coffee. He asked my suggestions for a local steakhouse and extended a dinner reservation for my husband and me for our meet-up. I provided several suggestions and he made the final selection for The Signature Prime Steak & Seafood restaurant for its menus, atmosphere, ocean and sunset views. We arrived a few minutes before our reservation and waited in the elegant waiting area after checking in with the hostesses. The restaurant and bar area was packed with diners enjoying the live piano twinklings of Broadway tunes. The hostesses explained that the crowd was there for their Happy Hour Specials and many revelers with overlapping dinner reservations spilled over into the main dining room. We were seated about 20 minutes past our reservation time. Luckily, the sun hadn't set yet so we got to enjoy the gorgeous sunset, Ala Moana Beach Park, and vistas out towards Diamond Head State Monument. Our server, Norman, for the evening was professional, attentive, yet gregarious. He offered his descriptions and recommdations of their Russian caviar and Wagyu beef specials. Norman brought us toasted sweet buttery dinner rolls as we sipped on our cocktails. We shared the interestingly presented and delightful appetizer of Fresh Sea Scallops with Ponzu, which Norman described as "scallop sashimi." We also shared the Roasted Beets Salad, which luckily, we inquired about the portion-size and Norman agreed that the serving would be appropriate to share among our foursome. Our hosts (Robert and his wife), ordered the amazing prime-grade Wagyu Tomahawk, twin Maine lobsters with drawn butter, and a bottle of St Supéry Cabernet Sauvignon. We completed the "meat sweats" table with our prime grade boneless ribeye and Wagyu New York strip and shared the Rustic Truffle Mashed Potatoes, Mushroom Risotto, and Lobster Mac & Cheese. Norman executed tableside shelling whole lobster service quickly and efficiently and plated the luscious, succulent, and delicate lobster meat on a platter. Of course, all the steaks were cooked to perfection, melt-in-your-mouth tender, juicy, and buttery-tasting. The side dishes were rich, flavorful, and complimented the steaks. Each course of the meal was perfect, and we even had room for light desserts (Yuzu gelato and Liliko'i Crème Brûlée). We enjoyed the food, beverages, well-paced and friendly/professional service, ambiance, and especially the camaraderie of our foursome. Thanks, Robert P. and Mrs. Yelper, for a delicious, engaging, and fun evening.

Located in Ala Moana Hotel on Atkinson drive, Diamond head of Ala Moana Center. Parking is either free with self parking garage located on ewa side of hotel (with a validation stamp) or valet is flat rate of $6 with validation stamp. Make sure to get this stamp otherwise you will definitely pay. Walk into lobby and take a private elevator to top floor. There are usually red velvet ropes to identify elevator. This is an express elevator so it won't stop on any other floor up or down. There is an awesome happy hour from 4:00-6:00 pm daily with 50% off pupu and some drinks. The pupu menu is amazing so the place is usually packed by 4:00 because seating is definitely limited. This restaurant spans east to west and ocean views that are second to none. We have sat on ewa side to watch the sunset and this past Valentines Day on Diamond Head side with beautiful view of Waikiki, McCully and Mānoa. We didn't see the sunset but the city lights were so pretty. Next time we will request certain end depending on the time we dine. There are lovely half-shell booths slightly elevated and all are facing the ocean. Or tables with chairs line the sides in front of floor to ceiling windows which is nice for a large party. They also have two rooms on each end that can be sealed off for a private event. The service isn't fine dining but pretty darn close. Servers wear nice clean uniforms and there are plenty of them to make sure you lack for nothing. I like that they know exactly when to check on you instead of interrupting conversation too much.We had Norman this time and he was delightful! Recited the specials like an absolute pro and even made some recommendations which we tried and loved!Even though they had a lovely drink special menu, we opted for a simple margarita for me and a bottled beer for hubby. I have to say I have had lot of margaritas lol but this one was top shelf for sure! Amazingly prepared with just the right amount of each ingredient. For appetizer, the furikake crusted ahi was soooo ono lying atop a delicate mix of wasabi/oil sauce.Onto the salads which I absolutely must order every time. The Strawberry / Avocado and onions is a delightful blend with a light dousing of balsamic vinegar mix. Hubby had his spinach salad which is huge and decked out with tons of real bacon! It was nice that Norman made sure we knew there was bacon and nuts in it because I guess some people think it will only be spinach. We ordered wine with the salads and they have a very nice list to choose from with about 10 or so labels by the glass reasonably priced. Finally the main course, we decided to split the surf and turf of wagyu and lobster. Norman was kind enough to have the chef slice the meat for us and he personally (after bringing lobster to the table in all its glory) took it away to crack open for us which only took a few minutes. Some of the items are understandably pricier than others so splitting this fare worked great for us! The Wagyu was perfectly cooked medium rare and seasoned without being too salty. There was also a side order of truffle mashed potatoes which we loved and it was a nice serving to share. We ordered red wine- mine was a Rutherford Cab and hubby tried the Caymus California Cab which paired well with our wagyu. The bussers refilled our waters at the right time and never did an empty plate sit in front of us.We were too full for dessert although in the past when we celebrated a special occasion they brought us a complimentary burnt cream with happy anniversary or birthday written in chocolate. Finally, the general manager visits tables when you're almost pau to make sure you had a positive experience, which is a nice touch.Mahalo to Mr Kim for reopening this place and making it such a pleasure- we will always return.

Happy hour review. Very good at this price point (roughly half off). I recommend getting a HH steak of your choice with a side of mash to start and go from there. The steak is quality and you can tell. The mashed potatoes are amazing. You can tell they loaded them up with cream and butter. The garlic fries are also very good; thin and crisp. Worth a try even if they're merely discounted and not half off like other things. Skip the steak tips and mushrooms. They're stir fried in shoyu so they're pretty one note and not at the level of other items. Beautiful view at any time of the day.

This place was amazing. It's on the 37th floor overlooking the city in the waterfront. If you can make reservations on a Friday night to see the fireworks, it's a must. The bartenders were really great and make a delicious Mojito. The service was amazing and the food was absolutely delicious. I highly recommend the tuna Katsu appetizer and the butterfish.

This restaurant is located inside Ala Moana hotel top floor. You can park for free at Ala Moana. The view is beautiful from the top floor. Perfect for date night. They also offer happy hour but go early because there's a line. During Holidays 2024 - mom decided to treat us to a nice dinner for birthdays and holidays. The food is good. Because I love seafood - we started with the crab cakes and the seafood platter. For main I ordered my the lobsters and risotto. It pricey but you get great services, food and view. If you can spend the money go check it out.

I LOVE Signature's. My husband and kids brought me here for my birthday in August. It NEVER disappoints. The service is ALWAYS amazing and the food is ALWAYS SATISFYING. The ambiance is lovely. It does get a little loud in here, but not a problem at all. The tables if not sitting in a booth are a little close for my comfort, but it is never an issue. If you havent tried this place out, you definitely should.

We went for happy hour and it was a good experience overall. Their HH menu is HUGE; there's so many choices that you can go a few times and still keep trying new things and there's something on there for everyone. Prices are reasonable especially compared to the full price. The overall experience is a bit humbug. We got there at 4:20 and there was a huge line snaking out the door of the lobby. You eventually work your way to the elevator and then line up again to put your name on the list. They said it would be an hour wait so we went to Morton's to get a round and some food to pregame. They called after 30 minutes just after our food came. Oops! So we rushed back and got a table in the middle aisle of the restaurant. Our server was nice but not very attentive. Our water glasses were kept full but it took a while to get the check and pay and we were indecisive on the food so we waited in between putting in more items. And our drinks took longer than the first round of food. The seafood trio was yummy. You get 1 fresh oyster, a jumbo shrimp and 2 pieces of ahi sashimi. 8/10.The steak tips with mushrooms and onions had a lot of flavor and it was a decent portion for the price although there's not much area in it. 7/10.The lobster Mac and cheese was just ok. The lobster was salty and don't taste fresh and the pasta was mushy and the sauce was also salty. 5/10 considering the price point for the size. The lilikoi creme brûlée for dessert was tasty but it was the thinnest layer of custard I have EVER had. I want to say it was 1/2 a centimeter thick. The caramelized sugar was not crunchy, it was soft. 3/10. The views are amazing! The bathroom and decor are "fancy weird". IYKYK. I'm not sure I'd bring anyone there to experience the HH unless I really like them because it's a lot of waiting. Definitely not a good date night spot. I'm on the fence if I'd want to celebrate a special occasion there bc the food and service weren't on point for the price tag.

Ok. Let's be honest, this restaurant is almost all about the view. Clean and classic steakhouse on the 36th floor of the ala Moana hotel overlooking the harbor at sunset. Moving past the ambiance, the service is attentive and very friendly. They're always there to help but don't hover over you in some awkward way. The food is overall very good. The miso butter fish was delicious. Great flavor and texture. It was perfectly seasoned and cooked. The dressing has a fantastic sweetness to it but does not overwhelm the fish. The steak was good but not amazing. It was well cooked to order but it needs some other flavors to bring out the meat. Maybe garlic butter or something to accentuate the steaks natural flavor profile. The mushroom risotto was excellent. Great flavor and texture. Creamed spinach was good but just a bit watery. Mashed potatoes were fine but nothing exceptional. Overall great service and a multi million dollar view served with pretty good food.

This place is located in the Ala Moana Hotel. Valet parking is 6 dollars when you validate it. This place is located on the 36th floor. I will start with service. Our server was Johnny. Really great guy. He was super nice and professional and I never had to ask for my water to be topped off and he always made sure we never had crumbs on the table. He is a one of the best servers there. He made our experience wonderful. The drinks are all good. A bit strong but well worth the money. For starters we got the calamari and the truffle fries. Both were amazing and well balanced. Had a perfect crisp to both of them. I give them a 5/5.The sides were the mashed potatoes snd the corn. Both were well balanced snd paired well. 5/5.The lamb chops cooked medium was by far the star of the dish. I don't like lamb chops but they were good. 5/5The ribeye almost met my expectations. Cooked perfect medium rare. The only downside is that some parts were cooked well done. But other than that the steak was cooked and seasoned. 4.9/5.
