We chose this Hotel from Expedia because we loved the modern look, bright colors, adjacent to the beach, The International Market and Ross. Surely when you travel you always want to wear something new and you'll definitely them at Ross. But most especially with the reviews we read. Customer service and friendliness is top notch. Luv the look of the room too. The moment we arrived we were met by the welcoming smiles of Kandace & Marijoy. It wasn't the formal pleasantries you normally receive at these bigger hotels, instead it was sincere small talk and rapport building with them. We then proceeded to our room and when we went down we told them that we already know we love this Hotel. I told my sisters about it right away. We are all here in Hawaii for celebration, This will be our Go To Hotel next time we come back.

Shoreline Hotel Waikiki is a hidden gem in the heart of Waikiki! The location couldn't be better--just minutes away from all the action, shopping, and amazing restaurants. The hotel itself is adorable, with bold pops of color and a simple yet functional vibe that feels modern and playful.I would highly recommend that you request a room away from the elevators. We hear the elevators going up and down all night long. Now, let's talk about the bummer: my gold status perks weren't honored as promised in the reservation. (Cue sad trombone.) But honestly, for the rate I paid, it's still a solid value! If you're looking for a convenient, budget-friendly stay with a stylish flair, Shoreline is worth checking out. Just double-check those perks in advance!

During my stay from 11/30/24 to 12/4/24, I interacted with the staff at least six times, and they were great every single time. Their friendliness and professionalism stood out and are the main reasons I'm giving 3 stars because honestly, the hotel doesn't live up to its 4-star hotel rating that is claimed. The property itself definitely needs some work. The hallways and rooms need a deep cleaning, and the decor is really outdated--popcorn ceilings, and old fans in the bathroom for example. The A/C worked fine, but the room had a faint damp smell. The bathroom could've been better--there was hair left behind, and some mildew around the shower caulking. The beach towels were tiny and thin, though the front desk happily gave me an extra when I asked. The rooftop pool is small but a decent spot to chill for a few hours. I watched more TV than usual since I was traveling solo, and the commercials were way too frequent and long. This is more of a Hawaii cable company issue, but if you plan to watch anything, bring a laptop so you have more options. There was some late-night noise from people partying on the street (bars and clubs nearby) and my neighbor across the hall who seemed to come back at 3 a.m. Light sleepers should bring earplugs. It wasn't a huge issue for me since I'm used to waking up randomly anyway but know the sliding glass door is old and thin / single paned (1970's maybe). When someone showers in another room and possibly another floor, you will hear the pipes running very well. This started around 5 AM and lasted till at least 11 AM (on and off) as people were probably showering for the airport and to leave out for the day.The balconies were closed during my stay (see pic). Honestly, they look pretty thin, and I'd be nervous about standing on them even if it was open. It looked like they might be retrofitting them, so hopefully, they'll be safer in the future as across the US older buildings balconies have been collapsing that are designed just as this hotels. On the plus side, the location is perfect if you like busy Waikiki. It's a short walk to the beach, many restaurants, and shops. The mall is just a quick Lyft/Uber ride or a $3 bus trip away. I don't usually take the bus, but since I was alone, I tried it--it was quick and easy and picked up nearly in front of the hotel. I walked back from the mall, which is about 1.5 miles. The bed and pillows were fine--nothing special, but clean sheets and no bedbugs is all I really care about. The complimentary chips and juice in the mini fridge were a nice touch (I only drank the juice). I ate at the "Heavenly" restaurant which is on the ground level and the fish and chips were perfect. The hotel gives daily coupons of $5.00 off I think it was, to this place which was cool and a recommend even without the coupon.Bottom line: The Shoreline Hotel Waikiki is fine for solo travelers or couples who don't need anything fancy or for short stays. Personally, my wife and teenagers would've hated it--they prefer places as nice as or nicer than home when on vacation, and this isn't that. While the hotel has its issues, the staff made my stay enjoyable. I'd probably stay here again if I were traveling alone and didn't need to impress anyone. Big thanks to the Shoreline Hotel staff for their excellent service during my visit!

I stayed at the Shoreline Hotel Waikiki along with my wife for 4 nights in January 2025. I encountered a few problems here and there most of which were out of the staffs control but overall we had a nice stay. I do recommend this hotel especially if you are not looking to spend a lot of time in the room and will be planning to mostly enjoy the island/beach outside of the hotel. I'll start with some of the positives. The staff were always friendly and attentive. The location is fantastic. Its not beachfront of course but its pretty much in the middle of downtown Waikiki and its extremely easy to walk directly to the main shopping area, main street with all the restaurants, and Waikiki beach. Its just one block away to luxury shops filled main street which runs parallel to Waikiki beach. I easily walked from my hotel down the entirety of Waikiki beach every morning. I also loved the the Shoreline hotel was lit up with pink lights at night because it made it very easy to spot from the main street when walking back at night. There are a lot of people walking around this area and I felt very safe the whole time. There is Ross store almost directly across the street. There was a mini food plaza next door to the Shoreline hotel and an independent breakfast restaurant attached for direct and easy food access. You are within walking distance to the International Market place with tons of shops and cool restaurants and also the Waikiki Zoo. There were a lot of exercise and fitness people running around these wide main streets and beach areas. Now onto the Shoreline hotel itself and I should state for the readers that I'm not much of a fussy person and I sort of roll with the punches when encountering something unexpected while traveling. There was valet parking available which charge about $45 each day. There probably was public parking available somewhere although I did not see any on the same street as the hotel. I'd rather pay for the convenience but to all reading just don't leave any stuff in your car either way. When driving take an immediate left after the Shoreline hotel down the alley and you will see a ramp going up and hallway leading right into the lobby. The Shoreline hotel is trying to be like a modern art hotel with fancy furniture and colorful walls but was clearly quickly renovated without the nice finishing touches. Its interesting style and all but the rooms are not that great. The rooms feel like a box with kinda crappy "modern" furniture around but not much else. The bed sheets were clean but I did find a big hair in the bathtub which was so visible that I was astonished. The room size is fine and the bed was fine. We think that they were watering down the body wash and shampoo products. The shower did get nice and hot and the bathroom got so steamy it turned into a stream room. Some of the the furniture was a little rough as well but there was an adequate air conditioner. After we were back at night from walking around and going to restaurants etc., the hotel worked for us as we just hung out on the bed on our phones/laptops but if you want a really nice hotel room then just stay somewhere else. The room lodging rate was the cheapest around for an adequate room and a safe place to leave you luggage each day. If you are on a budget and will not spend a lot of time in the room then I do highly recommend based on location and ease. Now when I was visiting the Shoreline was doing construction on all the balcony's so I could not use mine. I was disappointed that I couldn't walk onto it. There was also a lot of construction sounds come Monday morning so it would be worth contacting the hotel to see if the construction has completed and if you will have access to your balcony or not. The stay would have been way better if we could have utilized the balcony. We did get to use the rooftop pool a couple of times. Its clean with a nice view of the surrounding city but sort of small pool area. On Monday I tried to access the rooftop pool and it was shut down due to construction.

The service was excellent. We got in a little early so we couldn't bring our luggage to the room yet or do our official check-in, but by the time it was ready, they took our luggage upstairs for us. They even upgraded us to a suite. It was amazing lots of food and places around it very walkable the poke place right across was delicious and we had the heavenly island restaurant that was attached to it for breakfast Yum I would definitely definitely stay here again.

05.11.2024 - 05.17.2024Location is amazing with nearby markets and eateries. They also have a restaurant attached to the hotel so it makes the stay extremely convenient.Hotel staffs are welcoming and friendly. A/C is constantly running, even without a key card inserted in. So every day that we've been soaking up the hot sunny weather, we found a cool oasis as we entered our room. The hotel seems a bit outdated though. The elevators had a bad odor. Perhaps from the constant dampness on the carpet. The walls in the hotel were thin. We can hear everything that's going on with our neighbors and upstairs. The noise from the street was also heard throughout the night. People laughing, cars honking, construction happening at dawn...what should have been a space of rest and digression turned out to be a lot of toss and turning. The shampoo and condition provided made my hair fall out, whereas the body wash soap made my skin itch. Might be best to find a Safeway or Longs Drug to purchase quality toiletries.All-in-all, location is great and staffs are great, but the hotel itself could use some TLC.

Second time staying at Shoreline, even better than the first time! Hotel is in a super convenient location, probably in the perfect center of Waikiki. Room was spacious and very clean. There was a balcony, though we didn't use it. Mini fridge was very useful. Fast elevators! All staff were incredibly helpful and friendly. Free tasty coffee in the mornings and easy to borrow beach towels. Our go-to hotel when staying in Oahu!

Shoreline is definitely a special boutique hotel with all the thoughtful details and service. For example, we kept the "no bodda" (do not disturb) sign on the door the whole time, and every day, the cleaning crew slipped a little note asking if we were ok and to contact them for cleaning if we changed our mind. That's never happened to us before at a hotel. It shows care!Shoreline had a complimentary snack box with local products in the room. I thought this was very special. That never happens at a chain hotel either. Other hotels charge for any food in the room. Again, it's the little details like this that make you feel like this boutique hotel cares. One more thing that made our life easier: filtered water dispenser behind the lobby. It even had fruit-flavored water if you preferred that. On other trips, I am always buying water to drink. At Shoreline, I was just filling up my water bottle every day and saving money. The location is fantastic because it is quite literally at the midpoint of Kalakaua (the major waterfront street in Waikiki). Half a block from the ocean. There is no need to rent a car if you stay here and plan to do most of the activities in and near Waikiki. However, if you decide to rent a car, there is valet parking on the premises or you can look for street parking in the area. The room was immaculately and of a good size. We could see the ocean from our room. The elevators were fast so we never had to wait for one for long. The design of the room was cheerful and super cute. All the little details in the room made it special. It had local sayings and the Hawaiian islands above the bed. Cool art in the hotel in general. The owner has great taste in art. The lobby has super high ceilings so it felt really airy and nice in there. They offer complimentary coffee in the morning. Lastly, great staff. They always say hi. I would definitely recommend this bouquet hotel to all my friends and family coming to stay in Waikiki.

Let's start with the good first.... Easy check in, and nice large rooms.... If u stay here, don't forget to use there super cool water machine next to the lobby! The reason for the 3 stars is because the fire alarm went off literally alllllllll night long till the morning. Of course we didn't get sleep and I didn't hear the hotel knocking on the door for check out. Yes this was absolutely my fault, but by no means should the valet guy "acting as security" come barging into my room alone! I was half naked and super startled! A female housekeeper would have been a much better choice for that situation.

The hotel is doing construction, which wasn't mentioned during booking. Its is extremely loud during the day. Would avoid if you don't like noise.
