****CLOSED AS OF 3/11/24****They need to put a sign outside as to why....had to google the reason...you call and just get vm..which is common, no one ever answers the phone....Dear MCBH Community,It is with regret that we announce the immediate suspension of operations at The Hilltop facility, including The Hilltop Restaurant and The Officers Lounge, due to significant safety concerns. This decision stems from a recent Facility Condition Assessment that identified imminent safety risks within the building related to critical infrastructure. We understand the gravity of this closure and the impact it has on our community. We are actively collaborating with the installation team to continue serving our community. For any inquiries or concerns, please reach out to us at [email protected] for your understanding and patience during this time.

If you have base access, you HAVE to come here. The restaurant portion reminds me of 1983. Very nice, but still. It's the bar that is reminiscent of traditional navy / USMC aviation. Lots of memorabilia and squadron plaques on the walls. MCBH is storied in history. This is right across from 5 palms, so if you're staying there, don't be a dummy and head on over. Drinks are well made and worth the $. The view would cost you $25/drink alone in Waikiki.Semper Fi.Highly recommended!!!

"Live free or die....death is not the worst of evils" Gen John Stark (1728-1822)The US Marine Corps is renown for achieving impossible results under impossible odds and circumstances. I can attest to this personally in certain respects based on my own experiences serving in a sister service alongside Marines during multiple deployments. But I never thought this exemplary attribute and enduring legacy of unparalleled mission success would extend to the impeccable services and flawless support provided by the USMC Officers Club! All I can say is this: if you have a near impossible but critical formal event to host, then you must "tell it to the Marines!". Mission: previously planned family event put on hold for months due to COVID. Needed scaled down venue location for less than 25 people.Environment: Relaxation of Covid rules but... local politics. fear. third order effects, etc resulted in reduced staffing at all the traditional places on island. What's more, we couldn't even get businesses to return multiple emails or phone calls. Nobody wanted to host a group larger than 5. What's worse, nobody would even talk to us. It's like they were afraid to even tell us "no" because of fear of catching the virus!Time: Running out. One relative suggested the O-clubs. AF, Army, and Navy said no. Marines at both Camp Smith and MCB-Hawaii ("K-Bay") said yes. After deliberating and looking at prices and logistics, we opted to go with Kaneohe Bay O-Club. Execution: of course we took precautions and all safety measures. but the purpose of this review is to highlight the amazing staff at Kaneohe. They truly came through for us. Kudos and thanks to Chef William and Ms Samira for making this special day forever memorable! They walked us through every aspect of the process from menu planning to base access. Our family is truly indebted to them. Food: exceptional buffet. You could taste the quality and the amazing presentation that showed great care was taken. We ordered three meat dishes and four salads and there were continuous compliments from the guests. Safety: automatic glove dispenser that used forced air to assist you. Less than two seconds from donning gloves to buffet line.Service: magnificent. Professional, kind, welcoming. 5 star all the way. Scenario: lovely ocean views (Maui room)Value: incredibly reasonable. Didn't break our bank account!Total 5 star experience. Oh yes... did any of our 25 guests come down with the virus afterwards? Answer: no and it's been over 125 days since the event (at the time of this writing)... and everyone is fine...so much for fear.Bottom line: there are certain times in life when you need to say "this is important and I'm not letting fear run my life". There is so substitute for freedom. Maybe the Marines are the only ones left who know this!Stay safe, by all means... but more importantly, stay free.... Mahalo USMC, mahalo MCBH O-club, mahalo Chef William and Samira, and mahalo for reading my review.

My unit went to the Officer's Club for my farewell dinner and we pre-ordered our meals. I ordered a hamburger since they are pretty difficult to mess-up. I took a few bites and saw that it was pretty much raw inside. I informed the waitress and she got the kitchen to fire up a new burger. After about 25 minutes and the rest of the table was done eating, I received a new burger. I cut it in half and the new burger was almost completely raw inside. It is hard to believe that they would serve a raw burger twice. We didn't ask for a third burger plus everyone was ready to start drinking. They ended up not charging me for the burgers, but I left my own farewell dinner hungry.

went there twice first time was for lunch i had the poke it was very good my wife had the chicken and pasta the chicken was was pre cooked and then cooked again making it rubbery when leaving the man we paid suggested we come back for the prime rib dinner on Friday night so on Friday we decided to come back early in the afternoon we called to check on the dress code and we're told that the men needed to wear a collared shirt and closed toe shoes or you would be turned away and they recommended a 630 reservation and we ask if we came earlier could be we get in and we're told no so we went home and changed into proper attire and went to the club we arrived at 620 and tried to check in but along with twenty other people we were ignored and ended up waiting 45 minutes to be seated during that time we witnessed several men wearing flip flops tank tops t shirts with out reservation being seated and several children running through the club with plates of food and three children by the front desk kick boxing each other we were seated in waiting seat near them and had to move and stand some where else so we wouldn't be kicked or punched finally we were seated and asked for our order we asked about the double baked potato and we're told they out of potatoes they only and rice so we said that would fine and i ordered the prime riband was told they were out of prime rib but we could have the bbq but after watching the kids put there hands into the bowl decided to just leave this club is poorly run and truly a disgrace to the corp i will not return

Food was great, received very little service. Lady with check told us we were a special case, though. Would recommend if you like picking your own food.

To keep up with the gastro pub trend, the Officer's Club rolled out a new menu available Wednesday-Friday evenings - the club pub menu. We went on the first night to check it out. Here are my favorite items from last night's dinner: Fried Rice - loved it. It wasn't soggy or oily, and it had a nice local flavor. I just wish there was more of it! http://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?select=OA2koUQbXKkq79wZLiFnMA&userid=5iOId572Hr76oucpP1TNCgIf you love bacon, you should try their applewood bacon and bacon wrapped asparagus. http://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?select=_uGOygTYPylS7KVqgNnLlQ&userid=5iOId572Hr76oucpP1TNCghttp://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?select=vk5D30pJkDRgHbUbc8ec5w&userid=5iOId572Hr76oucpP1TNCgThe prime rib is a sure thing. The O Club always makes great tasting prime rib. Always pink and moist on the inside. I love how they cut it into cubes so that it can be enjoyed by everyone on your table. http://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?select=rTXOxLx-6rVanV1uetE-Sg&userid=5iOId572Hr76oucpP1TNCg The truffle oil fries are a must-try. The fries are crispy, and you can really taste the truffle oil. http://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?select=PucxrzliF2yyA5LBOt0A3A&userid=5iOId572Hr76oucpP1TNCgThey also have a lot of great beers on tap, Irish dinner specials, and a shuffle board! Here's the link to their full menu: http://mccshawaii.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/05/OCClubPubMenu.pdf
