Really nice and very clean theatre. Watched a variety of voice, dance and acting students showcase their talents. It gets cold, so bring a jacket/sweater. The seats are leveled upward from the first row so everyone can see, but if someone is right in front, they somewhat block your view, especially if you want to take pictures or video from your phone.Parking is abundant since it is LCC, and right in front of the theater. There are stairs going down to the entrance with a huge sign right above.

Peter and the Wolf is playing at the newly renovated Leeward Theater at the Leeward Community College. The Hawaii Symphony presents the story with a narrator. I love this story and enjoy seeing it presented by various performers. There are many stairs which may be difficult for senior patrons. Ample parking is available and I always see security guards patrolling the area. Seats are much more comfortable then before.

The L.C.C. Theatre. Once, a place for great stage acting to take place. Now it seems only church groups and beauty pageants get most of the glory. I love theatre, I always have. But in the past years I have stopped myself from seeing a show at L.C.C. Their shows were once really good.I remember the first time I had even seen a show there. I was very impressed. The acting - great, the scenery - great, everything that I saw was great. I even took the theatre classes L.C.C. offered...had a ball. The shows started from great and interesting. Then went to great, interesting and a bit over priced. Then interesting...still over priced. Now? Now there seems to be one thing you can depend on seeing at L.C.C.'s theatre...sex.It's not a bad thing. It's something that everyone does. Most of the shows have the adult rating so it's not like they're saying "children of all ages, come on down". A way to get attention is to have shock value. In this day and age "shocking" has something to do with sex.Im not a prude. I think being open is the best way of expression. But I feel that this theatre has over used this. Pretty much a step under soft core porn. Perhaps some time could be put to writing or just performing better.I know a lot of the actors, I know a lot of the people who work behind the scenes. I know they can do a lot better. On the plus side, the shows have brought other people to the shows. So maybe the sex appeal works. Like I have said, I havent been to a show there for some time. Maybe theyve come out of their slump. Who knows? I have a huge respect for what they do. It is not always easy to go up on stage and do what they do. Big ups to them.

The leeward theatre has seen some pretty major changes in the last few years. I do love it though! They provide a wide variety of entertainment that is educational and fun! They have made huge stride in bring in community theatre companies to give them space an opportunities they may not always have. Some of the shows I have seen there:Alice in WonderlandTwelfth NightTypeepeeSchool for ScandalClockworkI even had the opportunity to grow as a director producing two burlesque shows, Scandollesque and The Clockwork Cutie Revue. They provide such excellent opportunities for their students! I got my current job at Pas De Deux Hawaii from me experiences at Leeward.Overall, the people are kind and do what they can to make your experience worth while, they have many groups who rent from them including Pas De Deux Hawaii, Ballet Hawaii, Hawaii Ballet Theatre and Studio 808.We don't have much in the way of accessibility to the arts on the west side and I think The Leeward Theatre is an excellent resource for them.Great job Leeward Theatre!!!

I have been a part of the Leeward Theatre since I first started going to LCC and I have to say that it is an amazing place... you meet experienced and non-experienced actors, make new friends, learn from great professors, and learn to love the performing arts. And there are so many different types of performing arts presented there: Children's Theatre, Burlesque fundraisers, Hawaiian Play Festivals, 10-Minute Play Festivals, and so much more! I'm telling you, for a theatre that just celebrated its 40th anniversary of being open, there's no way it's slowing down, even with an upcoming renovation happening in a couple of months. The Leeward Theatre is so committed that there is still a 2015-2016 season during renovations! Thousands of artists from across the globe have rented and performed here for the past 40 years! The Theatre Manager Kemuel DeMoville does not hesitate to invite different cultures and interesting performing arts to the Leeward Theatre's stage. Oh and did I mention the prices for shows?... The tickets are more affordable compared to other theatres on the island. It's clear to see how The Leeward Theatre got its 2nd place spot in the Star Advertiser's Live Theatre category. And now, many of the self-produced shows there are up for Po'okela Awards! How cool is that?!
