Extremely Disappointing Experience!!If I could give this place zero stars, I would. We booked this hotel mainly for convenience on the Fourth of July since we have three kids, but the room itself was horrible. You could not walk on the floor without any footwear. I was surprised they checked us in without cleaning the room. The smell when we walked in was old and dusty, and after walking on the floor, everyone's feet were black within the first five minutes. The building is obviously old, but allowing people to check in without ensuring the room is clean should be a basic standard. The bed even had sand on it. We didn't want to shower or sleep there that night, but everyone was so tired.I was very disappointed and will never return. After sharing our experience with some friends, their comments were, "I could have told you how bad it was."

+ Complimentary parking available on property+ Mini refrigerator/freezer+ Microwave+ Spacious room+ Dining table and chairs + Location+ Consistent hot water for showers- Spotty WiFi. It frequently disconnects even while actively using it. Must sign in each time you leave and return to the property.- Intermittently noisy through no fault of the hotel. Unfortunately, we were stuck with a connecting room. Normally, this wouldn't bother me. However, the neighbors were very noisy and we could hear them through the connecting door. (Luckily, they checked out several days later).- During our stay, Housekeeping was REQUIRED to attend to the room every 24 hours despite the "Do Not Disturb" sign. Forget trying to sleep in. They will knock, then open the door if there's no answer. This hotel was specifically chosen due to its location and convenience. The Commissary, PX, library and neighborhood parks/playgrounds are within walking distance. This is especially helpful for those PCSing to/from HI and have no vehicle. The rooms look similar to the last time we stayed in 2021. The room rate has increased and so has the laundry prices. It is now $3 per load to wash and $3 to dry. Instead of coins, they have switched over to a card payment system.

I chose to stay at the Inn at Schofield because I wasn't sure I was going to have a vehicle to get around while inprocessing. It is conveniently located within walking distance of the Army inprocessing center (specifically for service members going to 25ID), the library, PX, commissary, CIF, the post office, clothing sales, and several eateries. The facility itself isn't terrible however, if you are needing a hot meal, you will have to eat out. Guests are prohibited from using hotplates in the facility and the only thing available is a small microwave and an even smaller coffee pot. There are no dishes, cookware, or utensils available. The front desk is colocated with a small diner & shoppette where you can purchase food and other small snacks for your convenience. The facility is equipped with washers and dryers on each floor but, have coins available to pay for each load and purchase laundry detergent and dryer sheets if you plan to do laundry. Housekeeping comes regularly so that was a pleasant commodity. Wifi is also available however, you will have to reconnect every time you leave and return to the compound.

Service at the counter was decent. All front desk employees weren't in the best mood. Room was spacious but floors were filthy. A positive was the room was renovated and in good condition. The parking lot also needs to be paved. A large amount of potholes. Out of all lodging on any bases I've ever stayed in, the standard and quality were definitely low.

To all the bad reviews. They either fixed it/ renovated because its noting like what my sponsors described from "2 years ago when I was there". Its pretty clean and livable.

If I could give this place negative stars I would!!!This place is filthy, decrepit and unacceptable is so many ways. I've stayed in 3rd world countries with better accommodations!!!My husband arrived first and stayed one night. I arrived the following afternoon and was like, "HELL NO!" We checked out a few hours later as soon as we found another pet-friendly hotel and never looked back! They need to shut that facility down, gut it, fire everyone in management, completely renovate and start fresh! The Army should be embarrassed that this is their on-post hotel and are encouraging people to PAY to stay here!Rooms are tiny, dirty, old and disgusting. There were these filthy door rolls/pillows available to keep drafts, bugs and moisture outside in big carts on the lanai, the front doors to the rooms have huge gaps underneath them so anything can crawl in day or night!!! No kitchen facilities to speak of except a mini fridge and microwave. Military families are expected to reside here for weeks if not months before they have housing. Unacceptable in this day and age!Pet friendly?! Hardly. No green space to walk or let your pets relieve themselves except the tiny sliver of grass next to the parking spaces. Every other grassy area near the hotel: off limits. That huge green space in the courtyard? Not for them. It just lies there empty all day. Also, you pay per day and per pet! Extortion!!! We found a much better hotel off post which was pet friendly, only a single low pet fee for the entire stay which covered multiple pets, had a designated pet run area and even came with a fully walled in private balcony so dogs could sit outside and enjoy the sunlight in safety.Food: The snack bar was closed for an "issue" the one time I tried to get food. I was told by the cashier on duty it was an electrical problem in their kitchen. Found out later it was shut down by the health inspector because of disgusting conditions. Glad I dodged that bullet!Statement of Unavailability!!! Don't believe their lies!!! You DO NOT have to stay here. This is a privately owned facility bilking money from service members and their families under the false pretense that you HAVE to stay here unless there are no rooms available. The US Army should be ASHAMED to allow this facility to continue to operate on their base and to encourage any person to PAY to stay here! We were lied to about being "required to stay here only" when we arrived and called them on their BS once we found out that this was NOT the policy. We thankfully only spent one night in this disgusting place.I'm a veteran and I'm also from Hawaii. I am appalled and ashamed to see a local privately owned hotel on a military base in such a nasty and downright unhealthy condition. The fact that the management deceitfully tries to trick people into believing this hotel is the ONLY AUTHORIZED facility for Army soldiers and their families to stay at unless it's full is criminal. This is not in the spirit of aloha. You should be ashamed of yourselves.

now as a military servicemember I was very smitten by the politeness presented to me. I never truly understood what a smile and a level of care really did until I walked Into this small hotel and met with the front desk clerk. my visit wasn't long so please do not use it for the sake of room quality, but I am very happy with just the service of the front desk.

This place is affordable and amazing. The rooms are extremely nice and so are the staff members. The best are super comfortable and the bathrooms are extra clean. This place has a very at home feel.

My review is based upon a 2 year time frame to where I stayed at the schofield inn for 1 week each visit with a year in between visits. The cons I am going to state was mentioned at my first visit and nothing was addressed or changed when I came back a year later.Cons: - thermostat does not regulate room temperature. It is hot during the day no matter how cold you put the temperature to. The night time becomes just barely manageable. (Not great if you have a baby like I did)- wifi is not reliable, it is spotty and quite literally drops off out of nowhere for hours at a time. The front desk said there's nothing they can do and that they made a ticket for it to be fixed (same thing they said a year prior)- toiletries like a plunger must be requested at the front desk (talk about an embarrassing midnight walk to ask for a plunger that should already be inside every bathroom) in addition, the toilets aren't plumbed great.- bed itself likes to slide away from the wall if you apply any pressure to it. I.e sitting upright at a 90degree incline using the headboard as a backrest will push the bed away from the wall. - price went from 2023 ($157 w/ a $7 tax) To: 2024 ($202 w/ a $36 tax)- washer/dryer took money and didn't work without having a sign stating that it was broken.- cats roam freely and will meow throughout the night I'm talking about 10-15 cats.Pros: they are centrally located on base - they have a 24/7 checkin office that has snacks and drinks.- was clean and tidy when I arrived. All I'm stating is for the complaints I had during my first visit, they had made no improvements to the issues and then somehow charged almost 75$ more a night when I visited the second time.

I only recommend for convenience They have DND signs but do not honor them. Their policy is to "check your room" every 24 hours (which they honor when they want to) to make sure nothing is messed up. Their WiFi is spotty at best and you have to ask for the new password every Sunday (if it even works) Then laundry you have to pay (cool), but only with their laundry card. They only take cash for it (cool), but the ATM is across the street at an establishment not connected to them at all. Just a huge headache all around
