The Feisty Popo Salsa

Cute little taco cart that's fronting a auto store in kaimuki. They only pop up on Sundays but you have to check their Instagram if they'll even be there. It's owned by a family and they're always so friendly and welcoming. The food is pretty affordable and the tacos taste great too! They always give my little dog meat whenever we go and then he refuses to leave. They are also very clean at the cart. Sanitation and gloves are used and they even have a working sink and wash their hands periodically.

This place is a popup that was right across the street from City Mill in Kaimuki, in front of the old Midas. I love the resurgence of food stalls in the area, despite the inevitable lines that come with them. I waited for the line to die down to stop by and try their tacots, which were ready in less than five minutes. Apparently this cart is the owners' side project and they're managing a taco cart and salsa business on top of other jobs. I got one of each type available, which included carne asada and potato, just potato, and chorizo. The tacos came with cilantro, onion, jalapenos, and pickled radish on the top. They have a few salsas available and, after first ordering the spiciest, opted for medium. The salsa is very tasty. Kind of garlicky, smokey, and a little sweet. The medium wasn't spicy at all, maybe Shin ramen level. The different fillings tasted more or less the same--very tasty, spicy and charred, but with different textures. The potato is a strong choice if you're vegetarian.Overall cool spot and I wish them the best when they reopen in July.

They are such a slay. Tacos:perfect, people:perfect, location: perrrrfeft. Love the food, love the vibe, they just so cool ya know. I'd go back everyday if I could cause the people are so fast at making the tacos and the quality is reeeeeally good.
