The Cole Academy - Kapolei

Hi, I am writing this review to report a smell coming off of one of the teachers. I had recently picked up my child and smelt marijuana. It was coming off Ms. Ari. I later found out from other parents that she can have quite the attitude. Though seeming nice to kids I would prefer something be done about it. This is unacceptable and will not tolerated. Some action needs to be done and I think no parent wants their kids around any type of drugs. It's an endangerment issue for the kids. Not only could she get hurt but our children could too. I implore you to see reason, not just for us but for the keiki as they are our future.

This is the best preschool my daughter Asiana has ever attended and we move around due to our jobs. At 4 asiana has already been in 5 schools and every school has its positive and negative but this school was perfect. AllThe staff and teachers and are caring and sincerely wanted our child to excel and love the entire educational experience. The director Ms Serita is one of the most positive nurturing human beings we have met. We were worried about Asiana reading and Ms Serita bought her short Disney stories which were fun simple to read. Asiana is 7 now and still reads those books. Ms Serita will do anything to help families. She is a very kind person. Even the front staff Ms Melody is so cheerful and helped our daughter get into a local dance company. All the staff know all the kids by name of and there's hundreds of them. It's like a big happy family my daughter never wanted to leave. In other schools Asiana cried when we dropped her off and ran out there at pick up time at coke she said I'm not done with my work. On weekends she begged to go to Cole. Her teacher Ms Billie was so caring and genuinely loved her students. I'm a teacher and I can tell the difference. Cole creates this safe fun but very high learning academic . They give the kids these thick worksheets daily with math science reading writing. The kids are encouraged to work on them independently then get help from teachers. I couldn't believe 3 year old learning anatomy of human body butterfly caterpillar and historical figures and current leaders like Obama. Cole is helping create happy little geniuses. Asiana is far ahead of her peers. In first grade she is top student number 1. Cole helped her find her confidence and educational purpose. I can't say enough about this school. Perfection

Words cannot even begin to describe how wonderful Cole Academy Kapolei has been for our daughter. By the end of Junior Kindergarten, our 5-year-old could read so many sight words and even started reading simple chapter books. Ms. Kristal and Ms. Tin are the perfect team - loving, thoughtful, and amazing teachers who know how to bring fun into the classroom. The director Ms. Syreeta is so genuine in all of her interactions and she knows each child (and parent) by name. The office managers Ms. Rebecca and Ms. Melody are also such sweethearts. Ms. Thalia wasn't even one of our daughter's main teachers, but she always went above and beyond when helping our daughter come out of her shell in the mornings. This is truly a beautiful environment for growing children.

We went here our first year ....went to another school this year and now I'm trying to get back in. It's that good of a school! Not only do they teach the kids ABC's and 123's but they teach them foreign language and Hawaiian. You cannot put a price tag on the future potential of being bi-lingual or tri-lingual! They also reinforce potty training and good nutrition. The major aha moment...my child asks to go back every-time we drive by. That says something meaningful coming from a toddler!

Unfortunately, due to lack of inconsistency regarding the fee's, start time vs. end time, part time vs. full time was just so wishy washy on the cost. So, we decided to pull our child out from this school. It's a great school for the most part she was there for 3 months, but its too bad that the Director & the Front office staff was just NOT in compliance with our needs.

In 2 months my daughter will be attending Kindergarten. Because of attending the Cole Academy, she is adding & submitting double digits, and now starting fractions confidently. When given the opportunity, it is amazing what our keiki's are made when given the proper skillsets. I am constantly amazed of how much my 4 year old consistently retains when exposed to each new skill taught at The Cole Academy. She is at the educational level of a 1st grader.Ms. Mariessa and Ms. Erica are the BEST at what they do. We are so fortunate to have Ms. Marissa as my daughter's teacher, as she has the credentials and has been witht the Cole Academy for years. She is maternal and fosters each child's potential through skill, consistency & encouragement. Thank you both!I don't think I'd feel so assured about my daughter's next step up to Kindergarten, if she hadn't attended The Cole Academy. Thank you! We will miss the staff. However, we take you with us through the forever successful skillsets and foundation you've instilled.

Let me preface this rating with a fact- the staff is wonderful and really look after the kids. They take care to follow a great curriculum that provides plenty of enrichment for our little one. That said, there is a glaring issue. The outside play area is basically an oven. There is no shade, and it's located on the hottest part of the island. This is Hawaii, the owners should have put in an extra couple grand to provide decent shade for the children. It's so bad that I would rather our little one just stay inside all day rather than spend the outside play time being UV slow-cooked. I will gladly update the rating once the owners have some trees transplanted, invest in (several) awnings, or any combination of the two. Again, great staff, but for 2 grand a month the kids should be able to play outside comfortably.

5/5, awesome place. The teachers and staff make it priority to know the parents and kids. They work with parents to make sure that there kids are safe and sound. They kept my son actively engaged and taught him so much. I would say that this place is top of the line for early growth.

Their playground need shades!!! Feel so bad for the little ones. It's so easy to get dehydrated!

Our daughter enrolled in Cole when she was 5 1/2 months old. As first time parents we were apprehensive if Cole would meet our standards because we wanted the best care for our daughter and a peace of mind while we were at work. Cole far exceeded our expectations. Her caregiver as an infant was Ms.Gina who is the BEST because you can tell she has a big heart. She's so experienced and gave us a lot of insights on parenting our daughter. Her caregiver as a wobbler was Ms.Lehua who taught our daughter sign language. This was HUGE because it helped alleviate a lot of the built up frustration on our daughters part from not being able to communicate her thoughts. She was able to sign milk, more, please. We later found out she was the only wobbler teacher who taught sign language. Her caregiver as a toddler was Ms.Inez who helped our daughter instill a love for music. She loved dancing and singing along to nursery rhymesThe school is no doubt pricey but for us it was a price we were willing to spend and we believe the return on the investment has been high.
