Hubs loves when he catches the blue truck in Ewa! They're often at the Wai Kai markets on Thursday. It's a great way to enjoy teppanyaki without having to pay a hefty tag for a grill side show lolA couple times the fried rice was hard, unfortunately. Thankfully the star of the show is the beef and so far, it's been on point! Great grilled flavorful crust with tender juicy centers. So much yum! Definitely more enjoyable when the rice is a softer pliable texture. Honestly, writing this review makes me want more! Haha

let's get real! 33.02 for small steak and lousy poke Dry lettuce and canned corn. Really? When I take a chance on eating at a food truck I don't get any service or table or a roof overhead. No follow up service. I am expected to tip!I would expect a deal! At least 30% off and no tip needed. Truck pays less overhead. Pass the savings on!I'm sorry your food was worst japanese food on the rock for the highest price. You can do better!

This truck is now parked in front of RISE on University Ave - cross street is Metcalf-Chef recommemedd the Mahi Mahi - generous portion that was flavored well but not overwhelming - was not crowded cause I think address is incorrect on Yelp- many teppanyaki choices - great for take out!

Worst steak ever! Hawaii usually has the best steak places. Don't waste your $22 on the steak here. I will never eat here again.

This was my go-to place when I was an architecture student. The Blue Truck was parked right across the street from the School of Architecture building at UH Manoa. During the evenings when we were in the studio working on our projects, we would walked across the street and order plate lunches here. Their schedule is pretty much up in the air where there were some days they were at UH and other times not. It's been awhile since I last had their plate lunches and was able to try once again since they were vending at Chinatown for the Lunar New Year festival. Mini Teppanyaki Chicken: My go-to plate. I used to order their steak but it was not fresh where the steak was weird tasting. The chicken was good. It was seasoned well and cooked thoroughly. The rice was also stir-fried and it was good with the sauce and it had some crispiness. The mini plate comes with corn and lettuce in it. I really like their teppanyaki sauce. It was delicious and tastes amazing with the chicken and rice. They used to include a side of their sauce in the plate for us to pour onto our protein, but now they already add it on top. I wished there were more of the sauce on the side. Overall, a good deal for some filling plate lunches. Their mini plate was enough for me and kudos to them that their prices haven't changed in 10 years. It takes me back to my college days.

Got a "Kids Chicken" (aka mini chicken, they seemed to rename it to "kids" for the Keiki Festival) for my son. First issue, they topped the chicken with a bunch of pepper. My son is just three, but not sure what kid loves a bunch of pepper all over their meat. Food took 5-10 minutes to come out. Only for the rice and chicken to be cold, chicken cold in which the chicken was dry or hard in parts. Lastly the "garlic fried rice" didn't have flavor except for the teriyaki sauce on it. Sorry to say, won't be trying this place again.

On the corner of Niu and Kalākaua is a food truck "court" with picnic tables for dining. There are a number of restaurants represented here (one is even vegan for those seeking vegetarian and vegan options). The Blue Truck Teppanyaki is a star among them. I highly recommend their ahí poke bowl and their ahí sashimi. Most of all, I recommend taking a few minutes out to get to know John, the delightful owner of this restaurant. He MADE our visit to this area feel like we were visiting a friend.

They had a booth at the UH volleyball game so I wanted to try the garlic fried rice. It was $6 for 2 scoops and they said it had homemade teriyaki sauce and garlic so I splurged. Bad idea. The rice was barely colored with sauce and didn't taste of anything other than rice. I would've been better off just getting a chili bowl since it would have had chili with plain rice instead of just plain rice. If you're thinking of getting it, don't. There was jalapenos at the nacho stand next to it so I got some to add a bit of flavor. Now it is spicy plain rice. The picture is after I already added a packet of shoyu so you can imagine how bland it started off...

The truck turned up at the airport in the parking lot so we figured we'd give it a try $16 was quite hefty for a mini and the food was definitely not enough. The worst part about it was I had the mini steak my friend had the mini chicken And about an hour and a half after lunch both of us got stomach cramps and DIARRHEA.

I believe this is the place that also sells food in the Stan Sheriff and at the Waikiki Shell during some concerts. High prices and terrible food. At the Stan I got the poke a few years back and it was basically about 10 small cubes of fish with no sauce at all, rice, and corn. At the Shell we tried the chicken and steak plates. Both super dry and tasteless, and no salad dressing! Such a waste of money! Vowed never to buy their food again.
