Every time I visit Oahu, there is always a local grind that imprints a lasting impression because of its excellent taste. For 2025, it is the Alley Restaurant Aiea Bowl. Two years wait, we were finally seated in this incredible restaurant. We tried in 2023 but the wait was so long that we had to find another restaurant for dinner. Inside, well its a bowling alley really. But the proof is really in the pudding. As we all know, Aiea Bowl is renowned for its oxtail soup. So that is what I ordered. Kids had their loco moco, and well the rest of the family ordered oxtail soup as well except for my sister who is a vegan, so she opted for their vegan pizza. Tip Top Restaurant in Kauai has been the pinnacle for me for oxtail soup for many years now. I felt that Aiea Bowl's oxtail soup narrowly top the top spot as my best oxtail soup, wow that's broke da mouth! Large multiple morsels of oxtail that is so gelatinous and tender really hit the spot. The broth was extremely delicious and rich. Add in some ginger and some type of sauce and we have the most yummy oxtail soup. Couple with rice, it was so hear warming. The excellent taste continues to other dishes as well. It tried out my son's loco moco and I guess Aiea Bowl's rendition is also one of the best out there. Really a chunk of a patty, perfect runny eggs, and a generous smother of gravy really brings it to the top. Lest we forget my sister's vegan pizza. She exclaimed that that was one of the better vegan pizza she had. Overall, everyone in our ohana was truly satisfied with The Alley at Aiea Bowl.

This is a true diamond in the rough! Who would suspect that a bowling alley would have such great food? We got seated promptly and the server took our order. Then it was just a matter of waiting for the kitchen to do their magic. There are so many good things on the menu, it's hard to say which is best. For starters, their ox tail soup is amazing! My favorite is their fried chicken and pork chops. I end up ordering one as a side and the other as dinner. Generous portions of food and make sure you save room for dessert. Their pumpkin crunch, chocolate cake, carrot cake, etc are all delicious! I'll probably need to visit a few more times to try them all. Couple things to keep in mind is the place has good AC and tends to run in the 70's. If you get cold easily, bring a jacket or sweater (I know it sounds nuts being in Hawaii). The other thing is this is a bowling alley so the tables are adjacent to the lanes so this is not where you'll have a quiet dinner. Personally I like watching the bowlers while I eat and some of them are pretty good. For those visiting Hawaii, this is a great place to try food that locals in Hawaii normally enjoy. (Believe it or not, I don't eat lomi salmon, poi and kalua pig for dinner every night...LOL!) E Komo Mai!

Always popular and busy here! For good reason. Especially on Tuesdays where bowling is 50% off making it a really fun and affordable place to hang out with your loved ones. Also bowling alley food always suck everywhere else, but here you'll find some good food too! We used to come here, but it's harder for us to get all the way over to Aiea so we sadly haven't been bowling in ages. We vowed to come back so we can beat our previous scores. Usually the wait for the restaurant is long, but thankfully today no wait so we dined in! Everyone always raves about the Tasty Chicken ($17.99), but it was not as crispy as I would liked, the garlic sauce was delicious though! The rice however was so dry. The star of the show was the Oxtail Soup ($24.99) which was perfect for this windy and "colder" weather. Flavorful and hits the spot. We also had a side of Garlic fries ($5.50) which were plentiful and the perfect side dish. Definitely took leftovers home though. Expect big local plate lunch style. Never leave hungry. We wanted to try the combo pizza, but their oven wasn't working today :( next time! Of course you can't leave without dessert! We got the carrot cake ($11.5) and lemon crunch cake ($5.5)! The carrot cake is my favorite one on island now, very moist and not too sweet for me.Service was nice, but they were slow. They also had a big party behind us so it took along time to get our check and close out. We ended up just paying cash because the wait took forever. Parking can be challenging when busy, so plan accordingly. Try to come during off hours. Will return again!

Husband and I decided to stop here for dinner as we were in the area and havent been in a while. It was a week nite, so wasnt too crowded. We were seated immediately. We just ordered simple being that we were waiting for our son tk be discharged from the hospital and didnt want to order a huge meal and needed to leave. this time around we got, deep fried pork chops, fried saimin and some waffle fries. The pork chops was good, wasnt dry and the serving size was perfect. the fried saimin, I felt like it wasn't their freshest and it was sitting for a little, it was okay. The waffle fries was nice and crispy, just how we like it. You can tell they are always so busy. Our booth still had lots of food on the ground with some spilt drinks, looks like the just quickly wiped the table so they good seat us. This was a little frustrating for me as I didnt want to keep my feet down and step on all the food that was on the ground and have it sticking to my shoes, so I sat indian style on the chair, LOL...Service was quick and server was very nice.

We decided to go and eat at the Alley inside Aiea Bowl. Just a heads up bring a jacket it can get a little chilly. First time I order the oxtail soup and ate in there. Love it. Perfect for a nice overcast day. They are awesome famous for their tasty chicken. Our waiter was nice and refills our waters. You can also split your bill in four ways just a heads up. Also make room for the desserts there. My favorite is the lemon crunch.

Notorious for takeout! Chicken was a bit sweet but fried well. Slightly greasy but had a good crunch and skin. Mahi Mahi fillet was fried and super greasy. Quick and easy to place a takeout order and pickup. Get the lemon crunch cake!
