Tempura Kiki

Tempura Kiki is right by the musubi stand in STIX Asia. This was my first time and the servers were so polite and quickly sat us at a table.There is a special menu only available to Kama'aina, so of course we ordered off of that menu. There are just 2 items: a tempura set, and a tendon. Our whole table ordered the set. You get to choose your last item - chicken, fish, shiitake, or okra I believe?It already comes with pork, shrimp and veg. I've never had pork tempura. That was yummy! It's very thin, so it's also very tender. I believe our friend got a 2nd round of rice, so I think they do free refills on rice? They also give you a box of tsukemono to serve yourself. There are other condiments on the table such as shoyu, matcha salt, chili salt.The shop is very clean, but fairly small. Thankfully it wasn't that crowded when we went.Also, I've never been served tempura as it came out. Our servers brought out a basket and served the pieces as they were coming off the fryer, so not everything all at once. I've only received that type of service in Japan before. Overall a very good experience.Pro tip - keep your receipts for parking validation at the desk outside, and also the restroom codes are on the receipts!

Tempura Kiki is located in the STIX Asian Food Hall smack in the middle of Waikiki. It's about 15 minutes walk from the Hilton Hawaiian Village, but everything is walkable when you're staying in Waikiki. We arrived around noon and there was few tables occupied but we were seated right away. Our server was very polite and friendly. Their tempura is fantastic and on point. It was light and and fluffy. It's had a perfect crisp and wasn't greasy. Premium Seafood Tempura Set- These was served fresh out of the fryer. It was served two around of it. Each around including two seafood and three vegetables. Shrimp Tempura Bowl- Fantastic, served with 4 shrimp, egg and vegetables.Kiki Tempura Bowl- Another excellent bowl, served with pork, squid, shrimp, egg and vegetables.It's definitely a place worth a visiting. Luch was fantastic and I highly recommend.

Amazing tempura with incredibly fast and polite service! I ordered the shrimp tempura set and my husband got the shrimp tempura tendon and they were both so delicious! The tempura was super hot and fresh and perfectly lightly battered. We had just gone to Japan, and their tempura was similar to what we experienced in Japan. We also upgraded to a hot udon side (+$5) and that was also great with chewy, spring udon noodles. The ambiance was sort of fast casual but still a restaurant and we were in and out in under 45 minutes with the fastest service we've ever experienced in Hawaii. The only thing is their hours say they close at 10 pm but they started wrapping up the kitchen around 9 pm, so come earlier not close to closing time!

We went at 530 and it was empty, we beat the crowd because as soon it hit almost 600 it became packed. I highly recommend this place, the tempura is light but perfect. The waiter are tentative and makes sure you have everything. The food was delivered in a timely manner. They also have kamaaina discount, which is even better! Also if you park at the garage they validate right by the stairs and it is free 2 hour parking. Just be careful going up the structure it very tight curves and they closed a side so it becomes a one way traffic.

The hubby and I came with our friends and their son. We were greeted so sweetly upon entering and felt so welcomed. We weren't sure what to get but the waitress suggested a couple things for us to share. The bowl pictured was so yummy, not too battered which I liked but was hot and super crispy. The rice was seasoned with what seemed like soy sauce but the sauce they use for the tempura. We also get the beef which was so good, tender and juicy. Wish I had more. The table also came with complimentary cabbage I believe which was nice. It was such a nice experience and definitely a good try while in Hawaii. And it's a cute place located in a food hall.

Located in the food hall in this building. Surprisingly it was empty when we went for lunch for our day in Waikiki. Service was really good. Servers were kind and knowledgeable about food items. Very clean aesthetic inside. We ended up getting two sets. I forgot the names but our tempura was the freshest and crispiest tempuras I've tasted. They also came out in batches so it was extra fresh. It was a pretty light meal if you don't eat all the rice. I'm not sure if I would come back again only because the price was a bit more expensive than I'd like. Other than that, the food tasted great!

Located in the STIX Asian Food Hall, Tempura Kiki in the first shop on the left of the entrance coming down from the side street.It's a tempura spot as you may have guessed, and they have mostly just tempura focused dishes here.The staff here are very friendly and helpful, so no issues there.The menu is not expansive as it's mainly just tempura, so most of the options are just variation of sets you can order that comes with different things.The one thing about this place though is that it's on the pricier side of things, especially when considering. Though, the portions are decent for certain things, I do feel it's still it the best bang for your buck, but the quality is definitely there as I'll explain in a bit.So ordered a variety of sets to try.Basically everything we got today was delicious.The standout set was definitely the unagi set, which was $50, but it did come with a ton of really tasty and tender unagi (no bones), which arrived with even more unagi than pictured it felt because they cut up the pieces. The other sets such as the seafood premium was good too, but the eel in this set was just basic eel, nothing great. The shrimp was delicious but pretty small all things considered. All of the batter was very crunchy and flaky and made just right for tempura expectations. All in all, if you want great tempura, Kiki is the place to be for sure. Staff super friendly and nice. There's not a ton of seating, but they ca piece together some tables if needed. It's a food hall spot after all. The price though, certainly not just a quick drop in place as you'd want to enjoy your meal at this price, particularly since it's tempura mostly. Worth it? Yes. Best value? Not necessarily. To each their own.P.S.Don't forget to drizzle that Tendon sauce on EVERYTHING.

Solid tempura, small restaurant. Came with a friend on a Sunday evening around 7pm and waited about 30 min. Line seemed to die down after us though. I got the Kiki set which came with an assortment of tempura, but if I were to go back I think I'd get the shrimp tempura set. The white fish was very soft and well cooked though. Unfortunately not a super filling meal for me. Picture shown below was part 1 of the 2 rounds of tempura we receive.

All I needed was a small snack before meeting up with a friend but got so much more!!! This place is in the Stix food court and as you walk in there's a menu so you can check it out. I was kindly seated by the staff there and then ordered the Kiki Tempura set.The food is super quality and comes in two courses! What an awesome experience I recommend this place and want to check out more menu items.So yums! Ambiance is relaxing as well. It's clean and calmingCheers to the staff and chef!

Always on my radar to try out this place Tempura Kiki located downstairs in Stix Waikiki . Got there around 5:30pm it was perfect because there was only another customer beside me . Once I left the restaurant it started to get crowded because the in Waikiki there was a Pride Parade just finished.I ordered their tempura bowl it came with rice on the bottom with 4 shrimp tempura, 1 potato tempura, 1 bell pepper, 1 zucchini.would have been nice maybe a carrot or onion . The taste was ok but just a little too much of their sauce drizzled all over .Once again my pet peeve I personally don't like when they put a kitchen charge on our tab. I worked many cook jobs in the back kitchen before and I think the customer shouldn't have to pay a tip for the cooks it's there jobs? . Management should either pay them well or have the waitress/waiterstip out but that's just my opinion. To be honest I'm sure that's the future I see more and more restaurants doing that . When that time comes all restaurants doing that I think I'll boycott and just eat at home LOL!!!
