I love Tanya's. If you are ever in Wahiawa, stop by to check this hole in the wall place out. Born and raised in Wahiawa, Tanya's used to Sunny Side Inn. At the beginning of the change the pies, which they were known for tasted a little different, but once the new location took off it began to taste like before. They are also known for their fried rice special. Cooked with perfection and lots of meat inside. I also would recommend their cheeseburger, I love their cheeseburgers..Parking can get a little hard, but there is also street parking

When I lived in town I would occupy get a pie from Sunnyside. Always the chocolate pie. And often times when someone had an errand to run in Wahiawa they would come back with a pie from Sunnyside (usually chocolate). After Sunnyside closed I heard some good things about Tanya's Pies but never had the opportunity to try one. Well, we finally did. The crust is exactly like Sunnyside-a little on the undercooked side but flaky. And so is the chocolate-super velvety. But this time we decided to be brave and had a half chocolate and half blueberry. The blueberry is ok but I still prefer the chocolate. And as usual we did not eat inside the restaurant but took it to go. But the decor is welcoming so maybe the next time we'll order food and take home dessert.

I don't frequent Wahiawā much as we usually just drive through the area, I see Tanya's Pies and Grill and always tell myself we're gonna stop by! Just so happen we had to go the DMV down the road & had the time to give their place a try. The ladies that take your order are so sweet! You can dine in or take out we opted to eat in as they had some tables open. The condiments, water is self served as you'll see a table and signs that tell you how to dispose of your food & plates. It's like a mom and pop shop that brings me back home to Maui. We ordered Mahi Mahi, grilled cheese for the little & shared hot cakes. All were so good & reasonably priced. The parking can be a bit hard as their parking lot is small and shared. Street parking available if you're lucky to find one nearby.

I haven't been here in awhile. When coming in, the line was a bit busy. It definitely is kinda pricey to see the difference in the fried rice plates is really just the meat. The thing that got me was the price for pancake plate and there's nothing special about it. You can definitely go to McDonalds or even Koa for pancakes that taste the same.I will give them props for making the food fast and fresh. I only had to wait no more than 10 min.

I stopped in at Tanya's to grab lunch since I was working nearby. It's a cute, old school place where you order at the window. My default when trying places like this is often trying their loco moco, and man, was that a great idea. It was not only one of the more affordable items on the menu, but it also came up super fast, and it was a HUGE portion. I love that their burger was hand made and tasted just like the ones my mom used to make. My egg was perfect, and the serving bowl made for the perfect ratio of gravy to rice--LOTS. There are tables where you can sit and eat, but I went back to my office. There are a couple of parking spots in the lot between Tanya's and the State building, but if not, street parking is pretty easy. I look forward to going back for another loco moco, and maybe I'll try some pie!
