As a regular to the former Ohana Hale Marketplace, I'd often get distracted by the striking Polynesian/Pacific Island prints and jewel-toned fabric apparel at Tanoa Hawai'i while en route to one of the many eateries. I was impressed by their massive inventory of men's, women's, and children's basic or essential styles, but their Polynesian designs drew my eyes to their clothing. Tanoa Hawai'i also offers handmade or artisan-made accessories to complete your look. However, I detoured to Ala Moana Center while on my way home from a walk in Waikīkī and discovered Tanoa Hawai'i had opened a storefront on Level 3 next door to No'eau Designers. I walked in and got a delightful eyeful of Polynesian apparel. The staff was amicable and attentive, and the prices were quite reasonable. Although I didn't buy anything from the store on the day, I stopped in because I was returning from a brisk walk to Waikīkī Beach through Ala Moana to Kaka'ako. Still, I plan to return for the gorgeous Swing Tunic ($55.95) or Flutter Top ($45.95) from their Tiana Collection that caught my eye.Welcome to Ala Moana Center, and I think you'll find Tanoa Hawai'i has appealing Pacific Island dress or casual wear for most tastes.

I needed to find something to wear to a few upcoming family events and I remembered that Tanoa had a few new items that came out. So, ended up here after work and I'm super glad that I did too! I was able to find a few new tops, but I was more HAPPY and EXCITED to find a Black Pencil Skirt!! OMG!! I have been in search for one for a while and to be able to find it here was the BEST! They haven't had any of their printed pencil skirts in ages, let alone a plain black one!! Snatched that up and YESSS, they had my size and it was the last one too!! Their workers are always super friendly and helpful whenever I'm able to make out to this shop! I actually prefer the Ala Moana location because they always have my size in stock and it's a little bigger than the Pearlridge location...but both locations always have that great customer service!! I will surely be back because I did see something else that caught my eye! Thanks again for saving the day Tanoa!!

This by far one of my favorite clothing store to purchase Polynesian print dress shirts. The design patterns in each collection are one of a kind each taking on its own personality. The store caters to the large Polynesian male with sizes ranging from Small and goes up to 6XL. The prices are very reasonable and the merchandise constructed well. The reason why I'm giving a 4-star is because my shirt size is XXL their inventory for XL through 3XL go out of stock very quickly, however you might get lucky and find one in your size on their Clearance rack which offers a very nice discount.

It's a good store but customer service is okay. The Male employee was rude and seemed overwhelmed which was affecting the younger girls. It's hard to shop when you have a japanese male worker yelling at the employees. Not aimed at the store, just need to work on some of their staff.

Terrible customer service. Male employee did not notice me walk in with my girlfriend, as she was trying on clothes she heard the male employee making fun of me to other employees. This is not how you should be treating customers, will never buy another Tanoa shirt

I'm so glad that I was finally able to find this place at Ala Moana because I loved their clothing at Ohana Hale Marketplace and it's just as enjoyable as I remember. I haven't shopped with them in a while but the same person who worked at Ohana recognized me which I was honestly surprised at. The Japanese gentleman who was working was super helpful in trying to find shirts for my husband especially since his size was a popular one. The young lady was also very thorough in explaining the return policy at checkout since I was getting them as gifts for my husbands birthday and even whited out the price so I wouldn't have to take the tag off or anything. So glad to see this local business thriving and serving people with aloha and I am definitely looking forward to coming back and shopping for myself.

I'm a local from Makiki who supports local businesses. This review is not directed to the Ala Moana Store but ONLINE purchase made on Memorial Day Sale. I purchased 2 shirts online and when it was delivered it was smaller than the shirt I purchased in-store couple days before. I try to contact Customer Service that day when it was delivered (Saturday) but I guess they don't work on weekends. I also did a RMA request on Sunday which was the procedure for returns or exchanges. I wanted to exchange for a larger size at the Ala Moana Store. I finally got a response on Monday and was told to do the RMA, which I did on Sunday and was still waiting for a follow up emails for instructions. NO RMA email on Tuesday morning, so I emailed once again to Customer Service and they notified me that my RMA was rejected because it was a sale item. I did not get any warnings when I first placed the order or on my invoices "All sales Final" on email or with the merchandise when it arrived. SO BUYER BEWARE!!!!!!!!!!!I will still support local businesswa but not this one.

I was a little disappointed when we went there. It's just a little stuffy and I guess more tourist oriented. We came all the way from the west side . For me too touristy. Pearlridge was where we ended up. We have gone to that store before, someone told me to try ala moana. It was okay.
