I wish I had looked at the recent reviews first. One small size container of fasi povi and one soda was $18. The first time the worker weighted it and punched in the code I was like okay, and then she cleared it and punched in a different code and it was more expensive. That was so frickin shady.

Without a doubt, I always find myself visiting Tammy's Polynesian Market for their food. It's rare for me to get a good plate in the area that I live in and nothing quite reminds me of home as Tammy's turkey tails and sapasui. I grew up a few blocks away from Tammy's and often ate Samoan food from my grandmother but since it's been a while since she's passed, this is the closest I can get to my memories of her and my family. The parking is extremely limited with two spots available up front but you can park across the street in the plaza and walk to Tammy's. They have pretty much all the necessities of a small market - just don't count on them having fresh veggies. They mostly have canned items, prepared food (buffet style), and smokies. The price of the food is kind of disappointing but how can I hold that against them? I always order the same thing every time I visit oka, turkey tails, palusami, fasi povi, and sapasui. Panipopo goes fast after they're baked so get them while they're hot. The moon pies are okay but not the best.

Old school plate lunch by the pound vibe! Recommended by my buddy as some of the best Samoan food on the island and he was definitely right. Cruised around for a feeler lap and knew it was going to be one of those KO lunches. I grabbed a plate and snagged some turkey tail, fried chicken, ribs, steak stir fry, corned beef and cabbage, huge chunk of steamed taro and an aluminum wrapped Palusami. Lol i know what you're thinking, and yes i skipped breakfast for this one. Everything was delicious! I should of left the turkey tail for last as it was almost candy coated, really salty sweet combo with tons of flavor. Grabbing the fried chicken i thought it would be soft and not hold its crisp but i was definitely wrong, crispy and juicy. Ribs, steak stir fry and corned beef were all great choices too. The steamed taro brought everything together, super soft but held perfectly. The Palusami was so good an so versatile i literally paired it with everything on my plate with a little taro and after every bite had a smile and thought, "ohhhhh that's the one." All in all a great experience and hopefully an epic nap. Thanks for reading

They have showcase showing all foods by the pound. Just let the lady know what you want. Had the turkey tails, had feathers by the way, palusami wrapped in foil for 6.99. It was burnt on top and the leaves wasn't as cooked as It should be. My throat got itchy. Also had sapasui, lots of ginger taste to it, love the mix veggies and chicken pieces with long rice. Two pieces of panipopo was 3.75 I believe. Was eh okay, would like the bread more soaked in the coconut cream. That's just my preferences. The bread is soft which is a plus. Also had okinawan sweet potato in coconut cream too fit my dessert. That was good.Overall experience: I'm okay Would I go back? Only for panipopo..

I was craving Samoan food so I made a trip over to Tammy's. But when I got there almost 1/2 of the cooked food options were not yet prepared so i was a little disappointed! I did manage to get some green banana and Kalo. The one thing I went there for was not ready and that was their infamous palusami..... sigh. I settled for fresh corned beef which was amazing and some kalo and banana great but not enough coconut milk and onions. Got a can of my favorite Australian corned beef and I was in heaven. I tried a couple new items the pineapple turnover not very sweet kind of starchy and doughy not my favorite. I also picked up a bag of taro chips. They were really bad. It smelled and tasted like chemicals and plastic. Don't recommend that one. And last but not least my favorites can of wahoo tuna, best tuna in the world ..... prove me wrong ......lol Only down fall was it was super expensive. Not sure if it's because of Covid or they raised their prices. It cost $76. Next time I need to be a little less liberal with the amount or weight of the food!! Until next time with visions of Palusami dancing in my head ......

I would not recommend buying fresh food from Tammy's. I walked in and found flies all around the food. I made it known to the cashier that flies are inside and on the food containers and she just looked up and continued doing what she was doing on her phone. As a consumer, you are buying foods covered with germs from these flies. You have choices don't think you don't. There is Matai Market in Kalihi (their hot food are placed in sealed tight containers) and another in Waianae(I just don't recall the name at the moment.) . If you must have Samoan food, I highly recommend you purchase it uncooked and prepare it at home. If you're looking for Mamoe, Don Quijote has a hefty supply at reasonable cost. Please do not waste your hard earned monies at Tammys anymore. It's obvious that their focus is not your health or wellbeing. Please use your better judgement when shopping at this place.

The place to go to when you're craving some good Polynesian food. A little pricey but it's worth every penny and every time I eat there it brings me back memories of when I was back home. Good memories .

Palusami was great. 1/2 moon pie tasted like cornstarch n sugar no pineapples, Turkey tails very tuff not cooked long enough. Octopus with coconut milk was very tuff, octopus not cooked long enough. Taro n green bananas were almost bad. Tasted almost rotten. Like been sitting out for days. Service was confusing.
