Night Bar ReviewI've only experienced the nighttime bar at this spot, which was fantastic! The staff were attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable about their cocktails and whiskeys, making the evening even more enjoyable. The vibe here is perfectly laid-back and welcoming. You walk in and grab a clipboard menu, your cups, and a water glass. Once ready, head to the counter to place your order, and they'll bring your drinks and food to your table.Drinks:The 1oz House-Infused Talk Shot (Mahina Island Rum, coconut, and espresso) is a must-try! It's refreshing, sweet, and smooth--like a lighter version of an espresso martini, minus the creaminess. We loved it so much that we couldn't resist taking home an 8oz "Capri Sun" drink bag.Food:The menu offers tasty finger foods that pair perfectly with cocktails. Highlights include hummus and naan, grilled cheese, popcorn, and the "girl dinner" (a fun mix of olives, berries, and pickles). All the bites were simple yet delicious--a perfect complement to the drinks. The atmosphere strikes the ideal balance between chill and fun, with great staff and a well-curated menu of food and drinks. I'll be back soon for another round!

Went here for the first time and... just awful. The service was off from the start. When I ordered an iced matcha latte for myself and my partner, the barista immediately started making it before I could even finish my request. I had to shout "with oat milk!" because she was already in the zone, ignoring the other details of my order. I also wanted to add syrup, but the drink was already done by the time I could mention it.Frustrated and confused, I waited for her to finish and come back to complete my full order. It felt rushed and disorganized, especially since I had 4 items to order. After making my partner's iced matcha (we just skipped the syrup), she handed us our drinks and rang us up after the fact. Is that normal? It also felt like she just wanted us to leave. When we sat down to wait for our breakfast, things got worse. We waited a bit, then the staff called our order. My partner went up to grab it, and while we were sitting there, an older woman (likely the manager) came over, asking if we'd ordered food. She said they'd been calling us, and I explained my partner went up there right when they called. She then scolded us for ordering to-go when sitting down, even though we explained it was our first time and we didn't know. Trying to de-escalate (funny, a CUSTOMER de-escalating a staff member), we apologized, but she kept going on about their sustainable practices. I get it, but her tone was off.A friendly, patient approach would've been a better choice for her, especially with new customers who simply didn't know.Hope this helps! Mahalo!

It was my first time here, and I was excited to try a new coffee spot after hearing good things. I loved the vibe as soon as I walked in, and the staff who took my order were kind. I ordered a matcha and a pastry to go, planning to sit with my friends--who were also visiting for the first time--while we enjoyed our drinks before heading out. However, an older staff member approached us and came off very rude. She told us that if we ordered "to go," we needed to leave, as in walk out and go, rather than sitting there. She also explained that if we had said "for here," they would have served us with sustainable cups and plates. I'm all for that and wouldn't have minded doing that if we had known--it was simply our first time there, and we didn't know their policies. We apologized and explained it was our first visit, but her attitude didn't change. She then mentioned they were closing soon and that a jazz band would be performing in the area where we were sitting, implying we wouldn't be able to stay. She said we had about 45 minutes and added, "Who knows, maybe you can stay longer," which felt sugar coated, dismissive and unnecessaryWhat could have been an enjoyable first experience was unfortunately overshadowed by the lack of kindness and patience. A little understanding would have gone a long way, especially for first-time visitors. While the coffee and atmosphere had potential, this interaction left a sour impression.

A staple coffee shop in Kaimuki that turns into a cocktail bar at night. The space is laid out with the coffee bar and ordering counter in the center with seating on both sides. There is a good amount of indoor seating with different nooks for people to sit in. There is a good variety of coffees -- the Thai Nitro was good! The pastries are good -- especially the cinnamon rolls and I have also heard that the quiches are worth a try. The baristas are sweet and quick as well.At night, the cocktail bar is pretty self-directed as you pick up your clipboard menu and grab bottles of water on your own before heading to your table. Then, you order off your menu. We got a Sneaky Smash, Ode to Oaxaca, Curry Lemonade, and some sort of lemon non-alcoholic drink. The Curry Lemonade was different and did taste like drinking curry, if that is what you are looking for. The other drinks were enjoyed by the table, especially the lemon drink -- sweet and syrup-y. This is a great spot in Kaimuki for drinks throughout the day and into the night with parking on the street and in lots around Kaimuki.

Cafe in downtown Kaimuki on a corner spot! Parking is street parking. Really lovely atmosphere for sitting and doing work, catching up with a friend, or just enjoying a relaxing coffee morning. Good vibes! Relatively quiet even though it's busy. Open concept space with high ceilings and lots of sunlight. Coffee drinks aren't the most aesthetically pleasing, but there's a rich coffee taste, and the milk foam was well done. They sell pastries, quick bites and sandwiches as well. A bit pricier but coffee quality is worth it.

Formerly known as Coffee Talk on the corner of Waialae and 12th Avenue in Kaimuki, Talk Kaimuki still hosting the most delicious sweet and savory bites, coffee and teas, and a great space to hang out with friends or just get some remote work time in.Liz, the proprietor is so nice and always has great suggestions! I always ask her what she recommends that day.Parking is easy in the municipal lot just around the corner..!

At night: Amazing staff. THE yummiest cocktails. Really fun and inspired food.In the morning: Great staff. Coffee drinks a bit burned, but fun offerings of syrups and drink. Wonderful selection of quality food. Lots of street parking and 2 paid municipal lots within walking distance. A fair amount of indoor seating and some outdoor seating on the sidewalk in a nice neighborhood. Clean bathrooms! Wonderfully, artfully decorated.

This is a cute cafe in the Kaimuki area. It's right on the corner of Waialae and 12th Ave, and the interior of the shop is super bright and cute with hanging lights and string lights everywhere. There's lots of seating inside, but I wasn't able to find any when I visited during their busier times on a weekend morning. Parking is freely available on the street (metered) or in the lot around the corner!I got their matcha latte and some scones, and service was okay! I was kind of disappointed with the matcha itself -- it was very sweet and milky, and I couldn't taste the matcha very well. The scones were kind of dry in my opinion, but did come in a generous portion size! I wouldn't mind coming back to try something else, but personally there are other cafes I like better in the area!

Honestly, not sure how this place is and continues to be in business. We came here to get a caffeine fix, and we regretted instantly in giving this place a try -Don't fall for their signages, since it's all false advertisement - their so-called 'Specialty Drinks' are all lies! I tried their Nitro, which was described as it being 'rich and creamy' - there was no richness or creaminess in this drink - it was bitter, watered down, and it had an off taste to it, as if they added some weird unfiltered water. With half of a sip, this was tossed. There seemed to be only one staff member on site, preparing the drinks; we come to find out that she is supposedly a 'longtime beloved employee' named Di - not sure who these individuals are, but she was passive aggressive and made us feel unwelcomed and uncomfortable. The place itself is spacious, but dimly lit; the surfaces of the tables were not wiped down properly, as it was grimy/sticky. In addition, there was a pungent odor coming from somewhere, so not sure if they have a sewage problem or something.Apparently, this place transitions into serving cocktails at 4 PM.Such a poor experience, and, unfortunately, I can't and will not support this so-called local business.Limited metered street parking in the area.+awful service+unfriendly and rude staff+improperly prepared beverages+false descriptions on items+limited metered street parking available

I remember back when it was Coffee Talk, I actually sang back up for my friends band here once. And while the name may have changed, it's still a chill spot, arguably the best spot, for a reliably good coffee and baked treats. With indoor and outdoor seating, they also have more seating than lots of other establishments in Kaimuki.
