On our most recent visit to Waikiki, my fam and made our way to Mitsuwa Marketplace on the 2F of International Market Place (IMP) to try out Go Go Curry that caused an interest after seeing them on social media. After we ordered our food, my eyes wandered to next door Taiga Ramen (TR), where I started to study their menu as I feared I didn't order enough at Go Go Curry. TR boasts Nagoya style ramen, also known at Spicy Taiwan ramen with components of chicken broth, spicy oil and stir fried minced pork. If not the same, this is similar to Tan Tan ramen. I saw food pics that looked promising so I took the plunge by ordering some ramen. My family wanted to try the Tsukemen and I went with my selection of the Spicy Ramen. I paid for my food and waited to be called. It didn't take too long for our food to be ready and added snapping photos, it was time to dig in. Hands down the favorite was the spicy ramen. It had a decent spicy kick and very flavorful - - loved the broth and the stir fried minced pork. The noodles had a great texture where to me, this bowl was flawless. I'd order this again in a heart beat. However, we were sadly disappointed with the tsukemen. The broth lacked depth and it appeared to be just regular broth. It was clear and simple and didn't stand out - - lacked richness and depth. The noodles were just regular ramen noodles, not the thick noodles that were are accustomed to. The bowl was loaded with bean sprouts (not to my liking) and we were all disappointed. Underwhelming and don't recommend. Service was very friendly and the stall was clean and bright. I appreciated the staff explaining IMP doesn't allow stacking of validation. So, if you patronize multiple businesses within IMP, you are only allowed to use one validation sticker. Overall, mixed feelings at TR where we batted 0.500. I wouldn't mind for a return visit where I'd be sure to order the spicy ramen again and add on a side dish.

Ramen-ticize your life with Taiga Ramen. Taiga Ramen hit the spot when we came to visit. It was raining and we were hungry! It's located inside Mitsuwa Marketplace. We wanted to use the restroom and wash our hands before placing our orders. I asked for the bathroom key and the young man on the counter (there was a young lady with him) told me they didn't have a public restroom. I saw the sign to the restroom and we were there to eat. I can understand that it's not open to public unless you're dining in BUT perhaps a different approach would have been better...something to train your staffs. He saw me looking at the menu...two people in our group even sat down while waiting. I even told my brother out loud to use the bathroom and that we should also grab our drinks from the store. There were 6 of us! I'm disappointed but I'll give this place a four star for their food not for their service. It lacks a human sense. We ordered Tantan Ramen. It's their signature sesame broth with chili oil, pork, bean sprouts, bok choy and chopped onions. The broth had nice flavor and the spice was well seasoned. We tried the Shio Ramen. It's the salt ramen with bean sprouts, chasu pork, bamboo shoots, seaweed and green onions. This ramen was a little salty. Our third ramen was the Hokkaido Ramen. Its was a flavorful ramen with chasu pork, corn, bamboo shoots and green onions. All of our ramen had boiled eggs. We also tried their takoyaki. This was packed with flavors. This is probably why I'm giving a 4 stars. If you're hungry for ramen, whether it's hot or cold, come check them out. Give them a try and hopefully the staff is a little friendlier to their next customers. Thank you for reading my review. Have a great weekend!

The vibe was really good and laid back, I was on vacation with my girlfriend and as we were walking by the server was very great at getting our attention and saying "empty seat has your name on it, great food, great drinks, and all around the best please come join" Happy to say it was amazing!!

The second time I went there (forgot I went there before), I was impressed by their shoyu ramen! It's so flavorful and the way they cooked the pork was the best I've seen - so juicy, tender and almost fall off the bone kind where my son had no problem eating (he never liked the pork in ramen). They also gave a lot of bean sprouts and green onions, and the ramen looked very wholesome - not sad at all! Also their noodles were the thinner kind (which is uncommon) with the perfect amount of chewiness! Their chicken karaage was also delish! It's located inside Mitsuwa in the international marketplace. With validation you get one hour for free and 2nd hour $2 I believe? Not bad at all. Parking garage can be a bit packed though if you come prime time lunch time especially on weekends. This is the spot if you like shoyu ramen!

Ahhh, not the best ramen. The broth was too salty. The noodle texture was off. It felt like I was eating udon. The noodles were not bouncy or chewy at all. It was about $14-15. Kinda expensive for ramen in my opinion.

Taiga Ramen's shoyu ramen is a solid choice! The broth was rich and flavorful, with a great balance of savory and umami notes. The noodles were cooked perfectly, and the toppings were fresh and well-portioned. What really stood out was the staff's politeness! they were super helpful and even validated my parking without hesitation, which was a nice touch.

I've had maybe at least 100 bowls of ramen in my life, from the famous Ichiran Ramen to Michelin awarded ones that only sell 50 bowls a day. I love shio ramen and thin noodles and this one is quite authentic. The soup has a strong flavor yet not overpowering or too thick. I also recommend the vegan ramen if you want to change a bit after so much meat and carb is Honolulu.

Just had to give them a try...Heard a lot about this place and knowing how the turn around comes and go I decided to give them a try since I was in the area and besides it's ramen yummy! Ordering is simple at the central cashier that handles orders for all the vendors in the Mitsuwa Marketplace Food Hall makes it easy though it's credit card only no cash and you're given a receipt with number for each place you've ordered to be picked up at the designated restaurant. After much decision it was the "Abura Soba" for me at $14 sounds reasonable for the area and for some reason thought it came like the standard ramen but it was the sauce on the side and you mix sauce with the noodles which was strange but meh! Honestly not a huge green onion fan and wasn't thrilled how it was loaded with it lol! It's a personal thing so I didn't really mind that but the soup was nice and light very refreshing as well and I first dipped some of the noodles in there which then only saw that I had to dump it all in and give it a stir. The noodles was nice and thin, the toppings looked somewhat like it's pictured though I really wasn't impressed the meat was dry, veggies was plain than pictured. The staff did the minimal not friendly and seemed somewhat bored making it a lack luster vibe.Thank you!

Nestled towards the back of the Mitsuwa at the 2nd floor in the International Marketplace is a small food court with several restaurants. Here resides Taiga Ramen. A delicious option if you're craving some delicious ramen with a variety of other sides/bowl options. I tried the Spicy and Shio Ramen, both of which I thoroughly enjoyed. The Spicy Ramen was indeed spicy, but it didn't tarnish the abundance of flavors of that savory and subtle garlic flavor from the rich broth. The Shio Ramen was just as enjoyable, but since it wasn't spicy, it was much more tame. However, not tame in the sense where the savory and rich flavors of the broth weren't bountiful. It still exuded lots of flavor. A generous amount of toppings of each bowl complemented the heartiness and deliciousness of each bite. The staff are all really friendly and patient. The seating is shared seating within the food hall with lots of space between tables. Overall, a bright and casual ambiance to enjoy lunch or dinner :)

Came here for an early dinner. This ramen place is located inside Mitsuwa Marketplace, so let's dig in!Service was good. This young lady was so friendly and polite. Love her energy. Ambiance was just okay since they shared the indoor seating area with other businesses. Kinda like a mini foodcourt thing.Food:Shio Ramen - flavorful & tasty. I enjoyed it actually. May not be the best I have but I can definitely order this again. The saltiness of the broth was improved without obscuring the flavor. It was light at the same time wild in my mouth. I just enjoyed every sip from my spoon. Lol.Will definitely come back here to fix my ramen cravings without the fuss.Mahalo for reading & happy juandering fellow yeeps.
