As a lifelong resident of Hawaii, I'm no Indian cuisine expert. Once, I went to Singapore for about 10 days--ate a lot of Indian food there. That's as far as my street cred goes. My wife and I checked out Tadka a couple of weeks ago. We ordered the lamb vindaloo, butter chicken, and garlic cheese naan. All excellent, but let's talk about the vindaloo. It's hot. Spicy as a mutha. Maybe top three spiciest things I've ever eaten. And I love it.If you drink beers, this, in my opinion is the perfect beer food. Order take out. My god it goes good with cold beer. The †wo counter each other perfectly, and there's real flavor behind the heat. I went last weekend to get more. There's a good chance I'll go this coming weekend to get achieve vindaloo hat trick. The best is you can't eat too much of it. One order lasts me two beer drinking sessions because it's so spicy. But I've never felt unsatisfied.Parking at McCully Shopping Center currently sucks. But that's often the pattern, isn't it? The best places to eat often do not have the best parking options. I think of these situations as quests., and all quests, even side ones, must be completed if one is playing the game properly.

Ended up here after Maharani had too long of a line and too long of a wait for take out. Relatively new spot and I'm so glad they are in McCully shopping center. Parking is always relatively easy (theres the underground if theres none out front) and whenever I go early enough there isn't a wait either.I love that I can get the palek paneer spicy and its just the right amount with the spinach. I've had the lemon tikka chicken rice, the lamb briyani, chicken curry, and chicken tikka masada. Great amount of leftovers each time for another meal. Beware if you ask for extra spicy, it will be spicy! My friend did that for his first meal of the day with the chicken curry and was feeling the burn. The place is BYOB which is always great if you feel the need for a drink..,

Finally got to try to place out!I love Indian food so I've been eyeing this place for a while, but because of the parking situation, I was always hesitant. The restaurant is located inside the mccully shopping center, so usually the parking lot on the ground floor is packed. I had to park in the lower floor which has TINY parking stalls. The biggest flaw of this parking lot is that more than half of the parking stalls are compact cars only but trucks and SUV's and other larger vehicles park in these stalls, sometimes taking 2 stalls at a time. The restaurant itself was great. Good service and excellent food. The price wasn't bad either -- spent about $30 after 20% tip per person. But because of the rough parking situation, I'm not sure if I'll ever go back.

This place is fantastic! We were wimpy with our spice levels (I could've upped it a bit) but the herbs, sauces, lamb, chicken and rice dishes were perfection. The biryani was one of the best I've had. Don't sleep on this if you want delicious, authentic Indian food. BYOB makes it super affordable. The host (perhaps owner) was super funny and made the whole experience even better.

Tbh I hate the parking lot that Tadka is in but after eating here, it's worth the parking frustrations. Also, there can be a bit of a wait, but for me it's worth it. Upon arrival, sign in on the waitlist and stay nearby, your entire party must be present to be seated. As soon as we sat, we were ready to order. The restaurant is cozy and the smell of delicious food was wafting through the air. We got pani puri to start, bright, crunchy, delicious. I am a naan lover so 3 orders of garlic naan, butter chicken-medium spice which was not spicy, and from the tandoori, the chicken tikka. The chicken tikka was so tender and juicy, just delicious. Service was fantastic and while they were super slammed, food came out quickly and well made

It's hard rating Indian food in Hawaii. Especially if you've had it in other places with large Indian populations. Tadka is good Indian food for Hawaii. The waiters are nice and knowledgeable. The food is decent in size and preparation. It's certainly not as flavorful as places I've had not in Hawaii. Maybe that's not relevant here though? Idk, you decide, since there just aren't many choices here.

Love Tadka! My family came on a weeknight and we were able to score a parking right away in the crowded McCully shopping center lot. We also got a table right away without having to wait, which was nice since I don't think Tadka takes reservations and they can get busy (restaurant was full). For dinner, I ordered two plain naan, one cheese naan, one order of rice, two curries (vegetable korma medium spicy and butter chicken mild spicy), chicken biryani medium spicy and mango chutney. It was the perfect amount of food for four people! I liked that you could choose the spice level, and medium was perfect for us. All of the curries were so flavorful and filling. Would definitely recommend Tadka if you're craving Indian food.

One of then best Indian places on this island! Service was great, we never had to ask for plates or water. The crew also seems to care what our opinion of the food was too! Usually wait staff don't have to know what we thought of the food but this is a small place so perhaps it's family run. I'd definitely go back when I get the chance.

This was place was great. I really enjoyed the food here. We went right when it opened and got seated immediately. The lamb was soft and each dish was flavorful. Samosa chat was really tasty and can easily be a main dish for a personNaan was very tasty and was something that tasted just as good the next day.Ambiance is the usual Indian restaurant, and it was clean and well lit.
