Sweet As

Ice cream in Honolulu, Hawaii...Walking around the third level of Ala Moana Center (the largest outdoor shopping center in the world), most people will pass by this kiosk named Sweet As. There's an outdoor seating area nearby!The concept is to have healthy fruits and mix them into a soft serve ice cream. The only non-dairy choice for me was coconut. I thought that berries might match the best, so I ordered from the nice gal at the window. She asked if non-dairy was a preference. I told her that I'm lactose intolerant... LOL!Anyway...Keiki size is small. It's $7.85 plus tax.Hmmm...I got a regular cone because a waffle cone would be $1 more.The flavor was ok... it wasn't sweet like a "normal" ice cream... and it melted quickly because the fruits and ice cream had been mixed together the machine. My curiosity is satisfied. I'm glad that parking is free at the Mall!

My friend and I shared their nui size and we got their strawberry with the frozen yogurt base. It was very creamy and had a great strawberry flavor (8/10), I would definitely get it again. They use fresh fruits here and you can choose from their variety and blend it into your base of choice. If you're looking for something refreshing at the mall, I recommend checking this place out!

Heard about this place on TikTok and was so glad to finally be able to try it. I love discovering new dessert places and having it be located inside the mall was convenient when walking around and shopping! I remember getting their dragonfruit flavor with vanilla ice cream. It was very tasty and it was cool seeing it be made right in front of you. I can't remember what size I got but I remember thinking it was pretty good portion for the size and I shared it with one another person and we both felt it was way more than enough. Would definitely get again and try other combinations.

I literally love this place. I've been here at least 6 or 7 times since they've opened and I've been telling everyone I know that they have to stop by and try Sweet As Ice Cream at least once. My favorite combination so far is mango with yogurt and white chocolate topping and my second favorite is lilikoi with yogurt and li hing mui topping. It's so refreshing and I like that the flavor is always consistent. The staff is super friendly and orders come out quickly even when there's a big queue. It's also in a nice spot of Ala moana with lots of tables and usually a pretty nice breeze. My fiancé and I love to pick up our favorite combos before walking around the mall. Highly, highly recommend!!

We walked from our apartment to get ice cream and arrived at 8:15 PM. The two employees (a boy and a girl) told us they were closed. When we mentioned that the website listed their closing time as 9 PM, they explained they were closing at 8 PM this week. We asked if they could serve us anyway, but they declined after asking how many people were in our group (7). There were also two other groups of 4 people each who wanted ice cream. It's disappointing to see a business turn away customers like this--definitely not good customer service.
