Sweet Aloha Chocolates

Walking downtown Waikiki and came upon the Kings Village Farmers Market last night. Was extremely happy to come across this vendor as there was a good selection of Gluten, Vegan and Sugar free baked items. They had a large selection of traditional baked goods as well. Gluten free banana bread, passion fruit Mochi, gluten free oatmeal banana cookies and the gluten free brownie were my choices. I have not yet tried all of these but let's just say the brownie is not in the picture for a reason. Very delicious, moist and tasty, not too sweet and best of all for people with gluten aversions, something to munch on that is as close to a real brownie as you will probably get.

I regret that I did not take pictures of my mochi before eating it all (and I take pictures of EVERYTHING I eat!). But the sweet sweet memories of the lilikoi mochi I had here will stay with me until my next visit to Waikiki. I first sampled a few of these at Kings Village (market) in July 2016. So when I planned a return trip to Waikiki in December 2016, the first thing at the top of my list was to find these again...seriously. So you can imagine the joy I experienced when on my way walking back to my room one evening, the market was right there on the corner and I was able to snatch up just a few for my flight back home to Chicago. These tasty treats are just the right texture and balance of subtle sweetness. I would love to have them shipped to me! They also have a variety of flavors from pumpkin mochi to chocolate mochi. I tried mochi at Leonard's Bakery as well as at Diamond Head Market/Grill but neither compared to these. I even saw that they had brownies and other goodies as well but I loaded up on like 6 mochis! Please do try; they do not disappoint!

I've been a long time customer of this company anytime i visit my parents in hawaii. I really love their hand-made pineapple and mango jams, chocolate dipped hawaiian fruit, and their bad ass champagne passion fruit truffles, all of which i always stock up on before i come back to SF. On those unfortunante times when i can't go home they've mailed my order promptly and with that island hospitality.can't wait to go back!
