I've been working out here for about 8-9 years now. I've tried many other fitness studios & types of workouts, but nothing so far can replace this for me. It is a total body workout which includes brief stretching before transitioning to the next muscle group. I love how Sweat+Soul barre really targets the smaller muscles to help me feel strong and toned. I can attest that the workouts WILL stay challenging, even after working out here several times per week for years. Instead of getting "easier" with time, your form will slowly improve (which I think also helps to improve your posture!). If it's starting to feel easy, you're not properly engaging your muscles :)The teachers and the owner are all so friendly and know how to kick your ass in the best way. I also love how CLEAN it feels in the studio. Pretty much all other fitness studios I've tried out feel noticeably grosser compared to here. (I can understand that it's also probably due to the nature of the workout for other studios though.)The studio recently moved to Ward Village Center (Genki sushi, Kids City, etc.), on the side of the structure where Roger Dunn Golf is located. This new location doesn't have a water refill station yet, so be sure to fill up your flask before heading here.

As someone who has never taken a Barre class before, I decided to go with the starter pack of three classes. I've tried pilates before but I actually think I prefer Barre. These Barre classes are more upbeat and are "fun". I actually look forward to the classes and I plan on buying a pack of classes once my "starter pack" runs out. Also, I definitely felt the effects of the workout both during and after the class. The muscle shakes are REAL!!Parking: There is a lot connected to the Keahou Lane building with plenty of stalls available. There is also street parking but it may be hard to come by an empty stall.

I can't recommend Sweat + Soul enough. This barre class is essential for overall health and to build muscle and core strength. The instructors are very clear about important elements of the exercises, particularly keeping form. I love every instructor. They show that they care about you personally as you aim for your goals. I respect every one of them. My body composition is better after taking classes regularly -- more muscle tone and strength. I look great in jeans and halter tops, and if I keep this up, I'll be super woman well into my 90s! Please patronize this studio -- they are doing so much good in the world, and the kind of clientele they attract are smart, kind and successful folks in the community. Glad to be a part of this. You will love all that you receive just being a regular at Sweat + Soul.

Sweat + Soul is conveniently located in Kakaako. I signed up for the first timers unlimited starter pack, which allows you to attend unlimited classes for 30 days! This was my first ever barre class I've taken, and wow - what a workout. I'm three months postpartum, and the classes offered provide the perfect workout and challenge for me, as modifications are also provided. The studio is clean and inviting. Not only did the workout catch my eye after several classes, but the owner Melissa is extremely welcoming and knowledgeable to barre. I appreciate how all the instructors at Sweat + Soul are friendly and encouraging. The instructors help guide you throughout class and make friendly corrections to optimize your positions so you can get the best workout possible.Highly recommended this studio to everyone!

If you want a personalized workout where instructors care about improving long term health and ensuring your form is correct, Sweat + Soul is the place to go. Melissa is the owner and one of the teachers. I have tried many different barre studios, yoga studios, and Lagree. From my experience, Melissa is unassuming and a wealth of knowledge. Every movement is mindful, deliberate and effective. Not only is she good at explaining what muscle you are working and ensuring proper form, she modifies postures based on your needs in an empathetic way, as she politely corrects your form when needed to ensure you safe. There is no ego, just a huge passion for helping her customer's fitness and health. Thank you SS team and Melissa for helping me feel healthy and happy!

Want to work out muscles you never thought you had?! Sweat + Soul will bring those muscles to light. How will you know? You'll feel it the next day and especially two days later. I love it!Located in Keahou Place, next to The Ultimate Foot Store and across of the new Down to Earth. The studio is brand spanking new, clean, and super nice! Water, towels, mats, all equipment needed for class are all available. Parking is located in the Keahou Place building and one hour validations are given on your way out of class. All instructors are awesome. I've taken classes from Melissa, Leanne, Rebecca, Mark, and Nicole. Although they all have very different personalities, the structure of the barre classes are very similar. By structure, I mean you will always be focusing on arms, legs, butt, and core. Each class I've experienced had different moves with different routines, so I can never get bored for sure. They offer Barre (60 min), Barre Basic (60 min), Cardio Barre (60 min), Cardio (45 min), and Barre Express (45 min). No matter how many times you go to barre classes, I feel like you will hurt. A good hurt of course! The kind where you know you worked your butt off.

This review is long overdue, but I would give this place 10 stars if I could!! I took my first barre class ever here back in 2018 and I immediately fell in love with the studio and with barre! The workout: Barre is a challenging & technical practice, but it is so so so beneficial for your body! You focus on small targeted movements at a time that strengthen your total body & improve your posture/flexibility/balance. I used to do heavy-weight workouts at the gym, but gave that up to do barre. My body has never looked and FELT so good! The staff: Sweat + Soul is a local + female owned studio. The owner Melissa is so friendly and personable to all of her clients. She is also an amazing barre instructor! I also love the instructor Brandy, who leads upbeat classes and always pushes me to my edge in order to improve. The studio: Recently S+S opened a Kahala location and both that one and the Kakaako one are very clean and chic :) parking is easy and only $1 with validation cards at Kakaako and FREE at Kahala. The pricing: Barre classes here and anywhere will be more expensive than a gym membership, however I fully believe that the cost is worth the quality of instruction and practice that you will receive. You get the best deal on individual class prices by becoming a member + you receive other discounts/perks too! Overall, I am in love with Sweat + Soul and truly believe they are the BEST barre studio on the island!

I recently moved to Kakaako and sometimes driving to Kahala to go to F45 takes me 45 min in rush hour so again decided to cheat on them and this is how i found this place! Reviews:-Ambience: super clean and nice. No showers though. Place is located in Keahou Lane-Service: everyone has been super nice and friendly! I've tried 2 teachers so far and they were both amazing!-Parking: 1 hour free with validation and $1 after-Class: i have been working 6 days a week for over 2 years now and this class killed me! Its so different than all the classes i do (salsa dancing, twerking yoga, F45, Core Power, yoga and cycling, swimming and running) Its a slower pace but it burns my whole body! Specially my booty and abs! So i am definitely coming back!!!Tip: you will need socks with grip and check Mind Body for your first 2 classes for $26 only!#bodyapproved

I finally tried a barre class at Sweat + Soul this week. It was so fun!!! The class is an hour long and there is no time wasted jumping right in. The instructor had us doing all sorts of arm exercises with light weights. My arms were immediately noodles, but if the instructor is any indication of results, I'll keep going. I too want arms like that. Next we did a bunch of ballet like motions and extensions. My legs were shaking like crazy! The class wound down with abs, which of course were harder than expected. I wouldn't have believed that such small movements would be so tiring. The class finished with glute bridges, push-ups and a nice little stretch. The class was fun, a good workout, and didn't leave me so smoked I couldn't go finish my day. I'll definitely be back for more!!

Oh my goodness! What can I say, Sweat + Soul kicked my butt! I came here because my sister told me they were running a special. Deals?! What?! Of course I was interested. I bought a 10 class package and went for my first class last night. They are located near the new Down to Earth in Kakaako with validated parking, so that's a plus. I arrived a bit early because I knew there was a little bit of paper work to fill out. You need to have grippy socks, but never fear, if you've forgotten yours you can buy a pair there. The room is clean, you grab your yoga mat, weights and a towel and choose your spot. Our instructor was fantastic giving positive feedback to this non-bendy reviewer and offering help to adjust my position so that I was doing things correctly. The workout, complete with warm up and cool down is intense! At the end of class, you get a wipe, wipe down your equipment and put it away. They have lockers to store your valuables and a bathroom, but no showers. As challenging as this workout was (I'm already stiff and sore, but in a good way), I plan to be back in a couple of days to try the cardio barre class!
