Signage at the front of the parking lot. Giving me some rustic tagger vibes.

A Hidden Gem in a back alley easily missed. FIND IT!Do not worry that you need to walk down a short, obscure alley, you won't be able to find it unless you do.Dean, the bartender, is gregarious and entertaining. He's even written a "tome of bar wisdom" of true life conversations from tourists as well as those who seem to barely conscious. ALWAYS 3 SPECIAL DRINKS ALL DAY LONG ( Yes, and always the same). Order any but the "World Famous" MaiTai at $9, is the best will never disappoint! Tall and strong, the best deal in Hawaii!Be sure to ask about the history of this establishment and any walk-about famous old school venues. If he is not "too busy," he will list a few locations worth walking to, on his preferred, close at hand paper, a napkin or receipt. Protect it with your life! It's Golden Advice!

How can I not love a dive bar with a name like that? After all, Suzie Wong was a fictitious Hong Kong bar girl (aka hooker) played by Nancy Kwan in her hotsy-totsy heyday in 1960's "The World of Suzie Wong". I didn't see any 8x10 glossies of her, but there was a huge Elvis tiki idol (photo: https://yelp.to/8CjQCfVCkr) and plenty of sports, beer, and boating paraphernalia strewn all over the walls.Even though our hotel was less than ten minutes away by foot, Jamie W. and I got lost trying to find it because it's in a nondescript alley with a parking lot in front and no signage from the street. Starting with the friendly bearded bouncer, the place had a casual, ramshackle feel that made it feel somewhere between Rosie's Bar on 'M*A*S*H' and the Howells' hut on 'Gilligan's Island'. Thurston and Lovey preferred their martinis dry. With unbridled energy, Patrick was the awesome bartender both times we visited. Oh yes, we went twice because the vibe was so relaxing and the potent Tequila Sunrises were only $5 each (photo: https://yelp.to/YWp9c9sjHZ). Besides, I had to get the T-shirt (photo: https://yelp.to/fCnQ52OvmR). I'm sure if we were grizzled Waikiki beachcombers, we'd be here all the time. Some of the regulars looked epoxied to their stools. That be us.DRINKS - 5 stars...$5 drinks, enough saidAMBIANCE - 5 stars...like we were on a movie set circa 1962SERVICE - 5 stars...Patrick was a champTOTAL - 5 stars...as Suzie Wong said, "Me a good girl! Loved this hidden gem! Came across Suzie's on Yelp while staying in Honolulu with my sisters and we fell in love! It's not super easy to find, but worth going behind the 7/11 to find it haha! The bartenders were great, loved all the locals and the deal on drinks was probably the best in the area. Also loved the vibe and music. Would definitely recommend!

After coming to Suzie's quite a few times now i think this place is definitely 5 stars! If you are expecting a fancy place this is NOT the place for you...BUT if you want a place thats open air, friendly, laid back, great alcohol selection that's not overpriced, efficient staff, clean and fun I'd recommend Suzies! They have about 14 TVs to watch NFL/college games on and open early during football season to watch the dreaded 7am games. They don't serve food BUT Tys food truck is parked in front and serves excellent food they will bring you the food in the bar. Sunnys coffee shop is around the corner that serves excellent breakfast as well. They have 3 dart boards, ATM machine and lots of seating Great vibe and I appreciate that the patrons are tourist, local, young and older and everyone is friendly and respectful no matter which team you are cheering for! It's also dog friendly. About 8 parking stalls in front and street parking. The bar staff is amazing great place to check out at the beginning of Waikiki.

I'd been meaning to stop by for a while, and finally had a few minutes and made it happen. Great vibe that feels very unlike the sterile Hiltons flanking it all around. Dean the bar tender saw me right away and made a Mai tai on the spot. It wasn't my favorite Mai tai, very orange juice heavy, but they don't skimp on the rum so you get value. I'd probably go with something very basic next time, or beer--there's some on draft and some nicer quality cans. Seems like there would generally be a group of locals. On a Saturday afternoon it was pleasantly busy but there was still plenty of space and seating. There are electronic dart board machines and a golf video game.

With all the resorts and the over priced places in the area this is the best dive bar in the area. Down a ally behind some laundromat's it meets all the dive bar list of qualifications. Open windows for the HA breeze, just the right level of hard hitting music, draft selections, full bar and top notch service. Its a local place that tourist like to hit. If your in the area take a walk down the dark streets and into the ally behind 711 and check this place out. Will be back every time I'm in the area.

Was recommended this play by some locals and wow, it's a great place to hang out and grab a few drinks. From the ambience inside, to the attentive bar tenders who are whipping it down, this place is a must check out.Depending on where you stay, it's within walking distance for many.. The drinks were cheap, made well, and get the job done..Respect the island, support the locals, and respect the island.

I did not expect a lot from this hole in the wall but I did not expect a worker to be rude nor appear to be soliciting. The bartender/waitress Marlene was over the top.
