Really enjoyed the time I had here and the portions were big and sizable - I sat near the preparations so it wasn't as private as I would have enjoyed, but it doesn't detract from how amazing everything tasted- Miguel Morales Photography

First of all, I love sushi and Sushi Bay gets a 10/10 from me! The portions were filling and I would say it's reasonably priced. We went on a Friday night, a little before 5 and only waited five minutes. Make sure your whole party is present, so you can be seated when they call your name.A little bummed the conveyer belt wasn't running (and hasn't been since 2020 -- that's my fault for looking at one picture with sushi on the belt lol), but that didn't take away from the experience. Everything is made fresh upon ordering. The chefs were quick and the waitresses were awesome -- made sure we were good and enjoying our food. They also kept our waters full.

Tried take out: ordered online at 10:50. Took until 11:08 for confirmation and response said order would be ready at 11:27 but wasn't ready until 11:45.Ordered 2 ahi and 2 ebi nigiri, an order of masago, unagi, and ikura nigiri. Also a mixed don and spicy tuna don w/o green onions, and a pumpkin tempura. Pumpkin was a little soggy, but to be expected for take out of a fried item. Everything else was fine. Pieces of ahi were huge! Everyone was satisfied with their order, prices still decent, and wait times still long, even past their own specified time.

Had a great experience ordering online last night. I called to see if they could have the order ready 30 minutes earlier and they were able to. The employee went over the order and supplied us with plenty of utensils and condiments. The food was fresh and even the chicken Karaage was crispy and warm. The platter B was full and fresh. Everything we had was exceptionally delicious! We will definitely order takeout again!

My forever all time favorite cheap sushi eat whenever I come back to Hawaii! I always make it my mission to order food from here every time I come back, and my most recent times have still been amazing without any problems. I always order their Spicy Shrimp (this changed over the past two years as they're not the little shrimps anymore and also lack a little bit of flavor), Spicy Scallops (huge fan), Garlic Shrimp, and Garlic Salmon. Those are always my four to order items, haha! In my most recent trip back here to dine in, the conveyer belt option has ceased. We can only order from one of the workers, and it would be made fresh. Bummer that they got rid of the conveyer belt concept but at least all the food will be made fresh rather than sitting out for a while and going to waste. Definitely a must go location as the portions are always huge especially for the price paid! Will be back on my next trip back to Hawaii.P.S. Wait lines are still ridiculous but they can go by quickly depending on the time you decide to go. Make sure to have someone put your name in at least 30 minutes before you reach the location especially on a weekend LOL.

I haven't been to Sushi Bay in years. I barely drove to Kapiolei since it's a far drive from town. I was craving sushi and my friend wanted to go to Ka Makana Alii to catch Pokemon so I was like why not. We can stop by Sushi Bay for lunch. We arrived exactly at noon and surprisingly we got a table (booth) a few minutes later. They were quite busy where the seats were almost full and the takeout counter was loaded with containers and packaging. The sushi was quite fresh and has a larger portion compared to other conveyor belt sushi places. We always get surprised seeing the size of the spicy tuna don. It's enough for 2-3 people to share. Their nigiri's were also large. They were fresh and soft. Their rolls such as the volcano, dynamite, and dragon roll were good. Good amount of filling with good amount of toppings. Their fried pieces were very good. The ika karaage and shumai were delicious with the side of sauce. The sauces were great.Overall, still a great conveyor belt sushi place. Good filling portion with prices matching their competitors. I would stop by Sushi Bay every time I'm in Kapolei.

Sushi bay. Their portions are big compared to other places which is why it's my go to sushi spot. I usually get a spicy tuna don and unagi and that fills me up. I'll be honest... not the best sushi but overall when you take into account price and portion this is the best overall. What I spend at other places to get full, I spend half the amount at sushi bay. The spicy tuna don is huge and that alone could be a meal.. sorry I didn't get a picture of it, was too hungry. The unagi is a pretty large piece and so fatty but it taste great. Their sushi rice in their food... I don't know what it is but it taste so much better than other sushi spots. Overall.. if it takes a lot to get you full and you want sushi, this is the spot to go. It can get busy if you want to dine in so I recommend just taking out. It's quick and easy to place an order online.

I've been reading about this place FOREVER and finally got a chance to try it, & ofc it was INCREDIBLE. We had someone sign up on the waitlist early so we wouldn't have to wait too long but when we got there and it was PACKED with people waiting outside the door to be seated and there were a lot of takeout orders too. I ordered the spicy ahi, egg sushi, calif roll, & tempura green beans but if I was hungrier I would've gotten more. Everything looked so incredibly good, and my daughter got 4 orders of these huge garlic salmon sushi that looked SO delish. Huge parking lot for the mall outside. I wish it was closer to my house!

Sushi Bay is the GOAT and the BEST sushi spot in Hawaii! The fish and poke is really fresh and flavorful (unagi sauce always enhances the flavor!)! Everything in the menu is amazing and cheap! Just eating a regular sized poke don or 2/3 plates of sushi will fill you up! The staff here works very efficiently while maintaining a nice and friendly attitude. Sushi Bay is a small sushi restaurant so the wait times can be really long (around 30-40mins for dinner) but the wait is 100% worth it. A really great spot to take your friends, family, or your crush that you really want to impress!
