Surf Bar Waikiki

This is one of my favorite bars in Waikiki. It's tucked away in the back of the Waikiki Resort Hotel, and that hidden location perfectly matches its vibe. You step out of the brightly lit hotel lobby into a cozy, intimate bar, illuminated by neon lights, with tasty drinks and dance music setting the mood. The atmosphere is always relaxed. I've seen as few as three patrons and as many as thirty, and it's never felt too crowded or off. It's hidden for a reason, and the fact that you're even considering going means you're on the right track!Now, let's talk about the drinks. They're fun and delicious! I recommend the New York Crush, Shipwreck, and the Char-Tini. And I can't forget the Maunakea Mai Tai. Just the presentation alone makes it worth ordering. The Nene Crossing is also a good time; you're literally drinking out of the backside of a bird glass, which is always a conversation starter!Late nights usually feature a DJ any day of the week, spinning chill house music. It's just enough to get you dancing without overpowering your conversation. I've seen bridal parties come in after fancy dinners and rave about how much this spot added to their night.The bartenders are laid-back and from all over the place, so if you strike up a conversation, you're in for a good time. If you don't come check this spot out, trust me--I'll be disappointed that you missed out!

Where do I start... THIS BAR HAS A SIGN THAT SAYS "ALOHA BEACHES" AND BITCHES WERE INDEED MET * First was that we ordered ONE drink * Second the girl brought our check out before that ONE drink were even served * We moved seats without telling them and another hostess comes and continues to ask us for our card to close the bill before we even got our drink then she got mad us for moving seats* Last but not least, a party of 6 were seated AFTER us but they received ALL of their drinks before we even got ONE drink The only good thing was the DJ and his music. However, it wasn't our original hostess but the second beach that came along... MAHALO BEACH

Spectacular drinks and fun place to enjoy my Birthday. DJ was playing the jams all night and even gave me a shoutout.

Tucked away in the corner of Waikiki, Surfbar is a place you want to take advantage of if you're looking for a lounge with chill vibes and innovative cocktails. One of my pet peeves about any lounge or bar is if the music is too loud or the lighting is too dim. Surfbar keeps the volume just right and has a cute table light for the aesthetic Instagram pics. - Mauna Kea Mai Tai ($22): My favorite drink! It comes in a cute treasure box and is smoked with flavored woodchips. The drink is STRONG, but I love that I can still taste the fruity pineapples and other citruses. - Lavendula ($21): My second favorite drink of the night! It has everything I love: citrus, lavender, and lychee. - Riptide ($19): Incredibly refreshing and pretty! The cucumber and mint were spot-on. - Hawaiian Sun ($21): I felt like I was transported to a Mexican beach with this drink! Sweet and tart with a little kick at the end from the habanero tequila and chili lime salt. Unfortunately, they do not carry any food other than a Charcuterie Board to share from Little Italy Hawaii, and a Naughty Affogato. But I heard through the grapevine that they sometimes hold Taco nights! - Charcuterie Board ($28): Lovely with all the essentials of a charcuterie board. I especially loved the candied blood oranges. I have to be honest though, I did find a dead fly in it after eating more than half of the board. - Naughty Affogato ($20): DELICIOUS. I would recommend sharing this because of how sweet it is, but it was a wonderful way to end the night. All of the staff were attentive to my party and were quick to whip up all of these delicious cocktails and snacks. Overall, this is definitely a place I would recommend if anyone has a group of 4-6 people and want to wind down or build up to a night out in Waikiki.

One word- ROACHES everywhere. They came up on the tables and onto food/drinks. Disgusting.

Small can be good but this case it hampers the service. First the manager didn't remember that my friends had notified them of a pre-wedding cocktail party and so it was understaffed. As one guy left he was rather dismissive of my friend who asked for water and pointed to a water container. Then I order a drink and $28 Tandem board before my friends party got here. Once it got here I waited over a half hour for it to get to me being pushed down by others drink orders. I was told it would be a minute which I was forgotten as a matter of fact as I am writing this I still have not receive it. Other customers are have become more important than my order. The only reason I am giving them 2 stars is because the Fig Mule I order came out prompt and was good. Don't get me wrong the fig got lost in the ginger beer and it taste like a regular mule but for a mule it was good. Would I recommend this to anyone, nah skip it there are plenty of bars in Waikiki.

Bianca Clay and Morgan are the best trio since the three amigos. The most authentic and original cocktails to the best vibes and ambiance. Great house playlist. The bartenders make the best drinks and servers are on top of it when you're ready for round 2.

Amazing server named morgen!!! Have been here before, but our server made great recommendations and made the experience memorable. They also have fortaleza!!! Will come again

Place is way too small. Music way too loud for the small space. Poor ventilation and worst of all drinks are way overpriced!! Definitely a tourist trap! Not for locals who would never pay the outlandish prices for drinks!! Definitely do not recommend.
