I finally took the time to stand in line to try this place out and it did NOT disappoint! I've seen this place and had it on my radar for awhile, so when it came time to try it, I jumped at the chance. This little spot is Order at the Counter & casual and by 7am there's already a line to order breakfast. My team and I went for the Loco Moco, I went for the pork belly burnt ends version and my other colleague tried the brisket version. I also added the Mac Nut Cinnamon Roll to my order as I couldn't resist. First off, the Loco Moco was out of this world! Between the pork belly and the gravy, it was ridiculously delicious... I also liked that they used jasmine rice as opposed to sushi rice. The only "complaint" was the sunny side egg was pretty well done, but the rest of the dish made up for that. The Mac Nut Roll was good too, but wow, the Loco Moco is next level! I would have to say the best on the island, hands down. The only problem now is that I'm going to want it everyday and I know it's not possible... Anyways, make the stop here, get a Loco Moco and be forever tormented that you'll only have it once in awhile.

Great breakfast place. Seven minute walk from the Hilton on Waikiki. Great breakfast burritos and pastries. The Hawaiian macaroni salad is perfect! Love, the fact that they spotlight local artists work giving you a homie look vibe . We're taking home Rocky the sea turtle as a memory of our trip to Oahu! Be prepared for a line outside, but it does go quickly. You can also order online. All the employees are super nice hard-working and helpful! Will be back for lunch!

Sunny's is a cute little breakfast cafe! What first caught my eye was the abundance of delicious coffee options. Ended up grabbing some breakfast too! My husband ordered an Ube Matcha. I ended up getting a Brekkie Sammie with sausage. The Sammie was pretty was good! I think it needed a sauce or something cuz it was a tad dry. Now the tater tots on the side ... WOO CHILD THOSE WERE YUMMY! They were a tad on the salty side so dipped in some ketchup, they were perfection. Delicious tots! The Ube Matcha had good flavor but it was pretty watery. I'm not sure how it ended up so watery because it really diluted the flavor. I'm thinking our coffee order this time around was just a fluke. Solid option for breakfast!

I tried the burnt end LocalMoco and was good. Next time will try the waygu moco. Wifey tried the burrs and she said it was great. We went at 7am and couldn't order food until 7:30. We ordered a smoothie and coffee but at 7:30 the cashier didn't ask us to order first before the ppl waiting in line at 7:30. The inside was typical Hawaiian takeout decor with 3 tables

First off, I don't know if the ratings are for everything else we did not order because we are not happy. Thai coffee- tasted like ginger. I think there were pieces of ginger in there. Maybe this was their version of Thai coffee, but it is not the authentic Thai coffee is that is what you are looking for. It wasn't strong at all, tasted like the espresso was pulled watery. The Haupia macchiato- this was better, but not that great. They were $7/$8 coffees. Service- the lady at the register was not very friendly at all. Yes I had some questions, but they were not out of this world for a coffee enthusiast. I asked two questions, how many shots of espresso and how many pumps of syrup is in it usually. She looked irritated that I was asking questions. Sorry I'm asking questions for something I'm paying for. After she took our payment she didn't even say thank you and turned around talking to her coworkers very friendly and happy. The server handing out food seemed like she was happy and liked her job. Three tables inside the shop and some outside. Small space coffee shop.

Popped in for an afternoon caffeine fix while in Waikiki. I was glad to support a local coffee shop rather than an international chain (Starbucks, 7/11, etc) but hate to say that the coffee was really underwhelming and the prices were high: $6 for a plain 16oz iced latte, +$1 for nondairy milk or flavor syrup, $7-8 for specialty lattes. The $5 cold brew was weak and watery, and obviously the cup was mostly ice. The iced soy latte was better, but still thin from all the ice, and a bit bitter. That said, the service was quick and friendly, and there are a few tables inside and outside to sit at.

Sunny's Local Grind was my favorite coffee shop while in the area - this local spot offers a large menu of coffee, tea, seasonal drinks, as well as breakfast/lunch options.I had their Haupia Macchiato, which is coconut, and it was strong and tasty! I also tried one of their fall seasonal drinks, the Swamp Creature - this was a blueberry matcha lemonade, which was super refreshing! The staff here are pretty friendly and efficient; there are only about 3 tables inside, but there are also a couple of tables right in the front.Always a line here for people to get their caffeine fix!Such a great coffee shop!+strong and delicious coffee+great seasonal items+limited seating
